This episode goes over the basics of this game at a very slow pace! If you have played before, and are comfortable in how to start making money, you may want to skip to episode 2 which is more the typical format of this series! Anyway, hope you enjoy! 😄 czcams.com/video/Tk5VJsblG_s/video.html
U shud Call one of the Monitors Nile Rodger’s
Hey you stole my suggestion U must be as awesome as me!
Cheers Bro I thought as it was a Nile Monitor it had to be Nile Roger!!!
Just what I thought as well
Can I ask you a question? Does Planet Zoo have construction limitations on PC?
Just started playing Planet Zoo and I honestly can't stress enough how helpful and easy to follow this guide was! I will definitely be sticking around for the rest of this series!
Ahh thank you so much, that is great to hear!
im pc and this helps @@fewcandy
I just wanna say, thank you so much. I’m a beginner who just got the game recently and I was very frustarted because this game is quite overwhelming to start playing. And the in-game tutorial is horrible!
Your videos really helped me grasp the basics. Your content is perfect because it’s both calm and very clear to understand. I started to build my zoo along with yours and I can confirm this video is perfect for building along! Not too slow, not too fast. Nice and detailed but focused on the things that are important.
I’ll be watching the rest as well. Just wanted to comment that you really helped me out!
Ahh thank you so much for the comment and feedback! Great to hear it is helpful and the pace was good. Hope you continue to enjoy the series and find it helpful!
This video was a better onboarding to the game than the 13 hours I've so far spent in the tutorial career! Can't wait to watch the others in the series :D
Ahh thank you so much! Glad you found it helpful and hope you enjoy the series, still more to come in it!
I've recently bought the game, and have started with the career tutorials, but have twice got stuck trying to do the Canadian tutorial. I'll try this guided build next, see if I can get a zoo going that way.
I had to restart the candian one, my first attempt with it I was a little too ambitious from the beginning with big bears and wolves, though they do like the climate! @@hanneken4026
Ohhh fun! How exciting to see a new series that isn't Cities! If your detailing here is anything like your skills in Cities, this should be great. Think I might follow along with this, always fancied PZ!
Thanks Egg! And I wanna see those screenies if you do follow along! 😄
OVERCHARGED EGG....You should do a zoo too! I LOVE watching your builds in Cities, so I think you could blow this out of the water too. 😃
Just started playing with the release of the console edition and I can't thank you enough for this! It's an overwhelming game but you made it seem so friendly and fun.
Thank you! It is incredibly complex at first but you'll get the hang of it in no time!
Finding the start of a NEW series build by you FC absolutely made my day. I have had this game for a year or so and it has always puzzled me on how to actually play it - I have watched several other artists explanations on how to go about building their zoo but you put them to shame. Watching your initial video on Planet Zoo has taught me tips and tricks already, thanks. I look forward to now following you on Planet Zoo as well as Cities Skylines. No one, absolutely no one comes close to your detailing expertise.
Ahh thank you so much! Incredibly kind words! And glad you are happy to see planet zoo here too, love playing this game so hopefully the series continues to give you some tips along the way!
Perfect timing, got it from Steam Sales and was a bit overwhelmed by what to do first and how to do it, it's already a lot clearer now and, as usual, beautiful detailing! Thank you!
Great to hear and glad it helps! Such a fun game to play once you get the hang of it! 😄
less than 10 minutes in and already more helpful than the dozens of other tutorials i've watch or even the in game one. thank you so much.
Ahh thank you so much, that's great to hear it was helpful!
I have watched a lot of guides but for real, this is by far the best one I've seen yet. You're explaining every step and show us how to recreate it instead of just talking about it, which is what stands out. I will watch the other episodes of this asap.
Thank you! Hope you continue to enjoy the series!
Well Few, you have managed once again to get me hooked on something, so now I have to go and get this game! Like everyone else, I love your detailing craft, but more importantly, I like how you have detailed the in's and out's of this tutorial. As always, you're awesome girl!! Thanks so much!!
Ahh thank you so much! Hope you enjoy playing, it's so fun once you get the hang of it!
The last time I left a comment on a video was over a year ago (with me using youtube daily), and you definitely deserve it. Everything was explained well and as somebody who has just bought the game, this is definitely an essential video to watch for anybody joining. Good job!
Thank you so much for your comment ian! Glad the video was helpful and really appreciate the comment! ❤
You single handedly saved the game from getting returned from my steam library! Thanks for all the helpful insights and tipps. I was playing Planet coaster yrs ago but didnt think planet zoo would be so different apart from basic game mechanics! :D Love the vid!
Great to hear! Thank you!
I have to sit around a month to recover from surgery. I decided to download 30gb of Zoo mods to play the game again. I haven't played in 2 years. Your video was the first place I went to learn how to play again :) I know it's a hassle to make these videos and people whine about everything, but thank you for your content.
Thank you! Glad to know it was useful and you enjoyed it!
Zoo Tycoon was one of my favourite games growing up, so it's great to see its 'sequel' really take off! I'll be following along with this for sure, I'm sure your detailing skills from Cities will carry on over to this and it will most likely inspire me to pick up the game too!
Oh it's so much fun! You'll do some mad stuff in it if you ever get it with your detailing skills! 😄
So excited to see this! I come from watching your City Skyline videos, so seeing a Planet Zoo was a great surprise! Thank you, now I'm gonna follow along in my own Zoo!
Yey great to hear!! Thank you!
Oh my gosh. I have had several starts with Planet Zoo and different tutorials. Sooner or later, I got completely lost and everything felt complicated. Mostly the building mode and building fences felt frustrating. Your tutorial is the first one I feel relaxed and confident with. I like my little started zoo so much. Your instructions feel very intuitive and well-structured. It's feeling easy and not overwhelming at all. I'm looking forward to your next videos and thank you so much. :)
Thank you! Great to hear it was useful for you, I’ve tried to break it down so it’s more accessible to people but still getting a nice detailed zoo!
I found you doing a search because I just bought Planet Zoo on Steam. I enjoy the fact that you going slow so that a newbie like myself can enjoy doing the game up right. Thank you!
Thank you! Glad the slow pace is useful for you 😃 And welcome to the channel!
I've had Planet Zoo on my Steam wishlist for ages and haven't actually bought it yet, but this is definitely making me want to finally grab the game and give it a shot myself. I LOVE the way you're covering the basics here and how you're talking through all of the hotkeys and menu options, your teaching/tutorial style is really excellent and makes everything seem a lot less overwhelming. Can't wait to keep learning from you and see your creative detailing skills in action in another game!
Ooooh Planet Zoo. I haven't seen anyone do a zoo in a long time. Looking forward to this one.
Omg absolutely brilliant tutorial! Thanks FewCandy. I have just bought the game and have no clue what I'm doing so this is super helpful. I appreciate your clear and concise explanations and guidance.
Ahh thank you, so glad it was helpful for you!!
Love the build and the very through instructions as you went. Can't wait to see the remainder of this series - you've got my vote Few! Please can we do a time lapse of the remaining build (for when you detailed up the bathroom areas and general public landscaping areas) - your time lapse is equally as enjoyable as the remainder of your build. Thanks Few. Great build.
Yes they will be in future episodes, this one was just far too long already to include it! Next episode will be more building focused now we've covered the basics😄
The Transtion from the basic zoo to a more detailed part of the zoo was amazing ive just started playing this game and ive brought 2 DLC packs Today your video has helped me alot with my adventure to building my own Zoo thankyou for the great video you have gained a Subscriber! :D
Thank you so much! So great to hear it has been helpful! 😄 And welcome to the channel!
How exciting!! I LOVE this game, and I can't wait to see all the STUNNING builds you do in this game! You're an amazing builder, so I have a feeling this is going to be GREAT!
Thank you Ciera! 😄
I've had Planet Zoo for a year or so but never really got to play it, I then discovered all the DLC's being really cheap so I thought to myself today is the day! I'm so glad I found your series, this was easy to follow along with and it looks really good! I can't wait to see it grow!
Thank you! Glad you found this useful, such a fun game!
Excited to see any games you play! Love your warm and silly personality, thanks for the great content!
Haha love that description of me! 😂 And thank you, hope you enjoy it!
This was great. I don’t get much from speed builds, so it’s nice to have someone go through it step by step. Keep it coming!
Seeing that you're starting a Planet Zoo series has made my day!! Your Cities Skylines videos/builds are always so impressive so I can't wait to watch along and get some tips for one of my favourite games! Thank you!!
Yey!! Good to hear of another zoo fan! 😄 Love this game too!
And I thought Cities was complicated to master detailing! I'll happily watch more of this. Surely ZooCandy rolls of the tongue better than FewZoo?
Thanks Ben and yes I don't know how I didn't think of that!!! 😂
I've been thinking of getting this game, so I am glad to see a proper tutorial!
And edit... I actually really like Few Zoo. It has a cute flow to it! 😁
Thanks Meesa! It's such a fun game to play once you get the hang of it!
I just got the game like 3 days ago and YOU are the best in educating new players like me with the horrendous pathing system. I learned so much especially with using CTRL to not let the path snap immediately to the buildings
Ahh thank you! So glad it's helpful for you, the pathing actually isn't too bad once you have practice and know about the few little 'hacks'!
Just bought this game around the holidays - great timing! I've played around a bit trying to figure it out but only 20 minutes in to this video and I've learned a lot. Thanks for going into such detail explaining things (particularly paths)! I'll definitely come back to finish this one and keep up with the series.
Thank you! Glad you found it useful, a few more tips on paths are in the next episode too!
I haven't touched planet zoo in months even though I used to be obsessed with the game, this might be what finally gets me back into it! I'm super excited to see how your incredible CS detailing skills transfer into this game, especially because the customisability of it is just absolutely wild!
Also, may I suggest Nigel for one of the Nile Monitors? No reason, it just sounds fun 😂😂
Love the name! Thanks Emma! And hope I can get you stuck back in to it! 😄
Name ideas for the Nile Monitors:
a) Name them after your CS cities i.e. Auridon etc.
b) Name them after your favourite cheese
c) Name them after Egyptian cities
Thank you so much for this! I have this game, but have never really gotten along with it because there's just SO MUCH detail etc and I always struggled to place things etc. So this was extremely helpful and makes me want to try the game again. :D Can't wait for more content. :D
Yey great to hear! Thank you!
Can't wait until I can get my hands on this game. Reminds me so much of the original Zoo Tycoon 😊. Looking forward to a new series FewC 👍
Oh I loved the original zoo tycoon!! And this game is a really good upgrade! 😄
Very informative, thank you 😊 I’m looking forward to the next instalment of this series ❤️
Yay!! I am so happy you decided to do this series. Already followed the design and can't wait for the next video.
Yey that’s great to hear! New episode coming very soon 😄
Oh yes! I’ve been dying for someone I actually like and enjoy watching, to play planet zoo. It’s such an engrossing game. Can’t wait to see you detail and create your zoo. 🎉
Thank you, can't wait to get stuck further in! 😄
CS and PZ are my two favorite games. This is going to be fun seeing you play PZ. Great demonstration how to start a franchise with so little and quickly start making money. Education and animal research go hand in hand with making smart, happy guests who will then dump loads of coin into your donation buckets.
Thanks Michael! Good to know you are another CS and PZ fan! 😄
I’ve tried to play PZ a couple of times in the past and immediately got overwhelmed and couldn’t figure anything out; this game has SUCH a steep learning curve. I had all but given up until I found this video series and decided I’d give it another college try. I can’t thank you enough for making this series! I’m following along with my own game and learning so much. I can’t stress this enough- this game was pretty much unplayable for me before I found these videos. Thank you again!!!
Ahh thank you! That's so nice to hear and I'm so glad I can help people get to grips with it as it's so fun once you figure out how the heck to play!
As someone who's never seen this game played before... Wow! There's a lot to learn. Looks like I'll have to register early to get the best classes for my new upcoming PZ degree. 😆
When you placed in the educational speaker it reminded me of visiting the Turtle Back Zoo as a kid. (This was definitely pre internet and smart phones.) For a few dollars you could buy a special elephant shaped key that could be used throughout the zoo. Anyone who had a key could walk up to a key box set up next to an animals habitat. Upon using the key a recording would play that would talk about the animal in the habitat.
The zoo understandably no longer uses these key boxes but it's nice to reminisce.
I absolutely love the tree lined pathway. Just gorgeous 😍.
And there definitely needs to be a mechanic named Bob.
Thanks Edward! And OMG yes! We will 100% name the mechanic BOB! 😂
Ok let me just say when i looked up a guide and i saw your video i was like geez one hour what in the world. But i love it you explained everything so well and left little to no room for questions i love it keep up the good work!!!
Aww thank you! Yes, there is a LOT in this game to get to grips with and this ep only really touches the basics! Super fun game once you get the hang of it though!
There is so much valuable information and tricks (especially with pathways) in this!! I’m loving this new series already!! ❤
Thanks David! ❤
Typical Few Episode floods and area and then doesnt build any housing. Keep up the great work.
😆 🤣
Hahaha!!!! So true! And thanks Paul! 😂
I have been looking for a PC simulation game to play with my 5-year-old daughter and she really loves animals. it's on sale for pretty cheap this weekend so this is a great little tutorial to get me off the ground running instead of her getting bored while I figure it all out 😅
Ahh thank you, hope you and your daughter enjoy it! I have 4 year old twins and I wish they had the patience to play this with me haha!
Well that was educational, really enjoyed it. I feel like I can finally start playing this game that I’ve had for almost 2 years 🤣 🎉
Haha! Hope it helps! Tons more stuff to come in future episodes too 😄
This is so detailed! Thanks for making this series!
Glad you enjoyed it!
An incredibly detailed yet simple tutorial. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks so much!
Ahh thank you! Glad it was useful!
This is Awesome! I cannot wait for more.
Woohoo! Looking forward to seeing your detailing in another setting :D I loved this game but totally forgot about it, time to blow off the cobwebs!
Thanks Mackie! It’s a fun little game! This is a slow start but we’ll get more heavily into the details pretty quickly over the next couple of episodes! 😄
Woot! As always, great detail - my personal fav is the rubber duck, but the enclosure is great! Looking forward to this
Oooooh this is a fun change! I've never played Planet Zoo but had a shot at Planet Coaster before but I'm here for the ride, I think you're already convincing me to get it downloaded!
Yey! It's so fun to play! Glad you enjoyed it 😄
Few, I just wanted to reach out and tell you how much your videos of your Cities Skylines builds have inspired me. I actually bought Planet Zoo about a year ago and started playing it, but I ended up mostly playing Cities Skylines because of all the amazing videos you made about it. Your content has made me start playing Planet Zoo again and I just wanted to thank you for all the hard work you put into making those videos. You have an amazing talent for creating interesting and intriguing content, and I hope you continue to inspire others with your work. Thank you for all the joy your videos have brought me. - JB 🇿🇦
Ahh thank you so much Jannie, that is very kind words, and fills me with happiness to hear they bring you joy! ❤ Thank you!
This game is so complicated that a beginner guide for game basics on youtube is the length of a Disney animated movie
And this is only the first of a series 😉😂
You have done well in explaining all the needs for the game...even if I am not playing the game. I like to know what you are doing in the game. It does look like a fun watch. And it is different from what you normally do. Hope it works out!
YEAH!!! I love your Cities series and I do play PZ also, so this is going to be another series to follow. I'm sure you'll come up with some very creative ideas since there are so many more ways to build and customize scenery and buildings in PZ. SO glad to see you've joined the Planet Zoo builders.
Oh yey great to hear! Absolutely love this game so hoping I can create some inspiration for you all here too!
Planet Zoo terrifies me a lot, mostly in the design department. I often feel like whatever I create looks rubbish, especially the habitats. But guides like yours make me want to actually try and make my own Zoo. Thank you very much for creating this!
Thank you, I'm glad it was helpful!
This is awesome FewCandy, please keep going. While I wouldn't play cause I'm no good at these kinda games lol I love watching others play. You made it look so lovely
Just getting over being sick and this is the perfect present for AudioNerd!! 🎉
Oh no hope you are feeling better! But glad AudioNerd can enjoy it!! 😄
Thank you so much for this series, I have learned so many tips and tricks watching it! Such a great series!
Thank you very much for the detailed guideness ( with helpful tricks ) & since a few days I have picked Planet Zoo up again; I bought it in 2019 and only played 30 min. of tutorial xD. Love to see more of these series. Keep up your great work and vids. Cheers!
Thank you! Glad you find it useful! 😄
WOW. I played this game last year and put in about 60 hours, (with the help of a few other tutorials) . But thought I would start again with a fresh mind and more determination to really master it. Your guide is very clear and the results are much better than any of my efforts. Im now a keen watcher and will be following your guide. Thanks.
Thank you! Glad you found it useful and hope it continues to help!
I’m so excited for this! I used to watch BestInSlot but he hasn’t made Planet Zoo videos in a year or two. I can’t wait for your beautiful builds
Yey thank you! Hope you enjoy the series!
i love youre videos, watching them again from the start and following along this time!
Ahh thank you so much! Hope you enjoy the second run through!
I just started this game. Watched the whole first episode. For me this game now is fun. Wouldnt be without your video. Im a slow learner, and your help is greatly appreciated. Like and sub
Ahh that's so lovely to hear, thank you. So glad you can enjoy the game, it really is super fun!
I’m just staring out and this is VERY HELPFUL! Thank you
Great to hear it's helpful! Thank you!
This is such a great video!! Extremely informative, yet still entertaining and to the point. Great job (:
Thank you so much for this! I just bought the game today and was very overwhelmed!
loved the video... I just started playing the game and I really needed something like this video to get me even more hooked to it, thanks for that, you got a new subscriber
Thank you for this guide! Makes me want to give this game another try! ☺️
I have had this game for two years. Never could figure this out. Thank you so much I am finally understanding and not getting frustrated ❤
So nice to hear it was useful! Thank you!
Hi, just wanted to say thanks for the help. I’ve been struggling to get really started with this game for many months now, cause I only have time to play this one in sporadic bursts due to being a frequent traveler and I couldn’t stay on it long enough to really get the grasp of it.
I have a steam deck but everything gets too tiny on it for it to be practical for learning (plus it wasn’t really designed for controller).
Downloaded and watched your video during one of my flights, it was really helpful in finally grasping what I needed when I have some time to play the game, and already have a proper zoo going on! So yeah, thanks!
Thank you that's so good to hear it's helped! 🙌
after a big failure on my first zoo with just 10m of gameplay, your tutorial saved me. i already have over a 70 thousand of cash! :D I chose the giant Galapagos turtle and it was a veeryyyy good choice to start, it worked pretty well within your tips!
New sub! I love your level of detail and obvious proficiency with Planet Zoo. Beautiful start! Can't wait to see more ❤
Thank you! And welcome to the channel! ❤
Great intro to this game. Will be definitely downloading and playing along
🥳
Thank you so much for this! After running 3 zoos into the ground I decided to look online for help and after watching this I have 4 happy dingo's with some babies on the way!
Yey! Great to hear it helped, thank you!
Phenomenal guide 🥰🥰 I’m so thankful!
Thank you! Glad it was useful!
I just restarted this game with the intent to do career on hard since I finished it before that was an option, so I'm happy to see you starting to dive into PZ!
Not sure if you get into this in the next episode, but when you drop your fence beyond the starting point or have a path going over and you have food & drink people WILL throw food into the enclosure unless you have a 'no feeding' sign within range which your animals can eat and it'll make them sick, or it will bring the enclosure score down.
Now I'm off to episode two. This was such a great start!
Yes great point and one I was going to cover later on alongside guest barriers, but certainly should have mentioned it alongside this enclosure!
super detailed and easy to follow. I like your slower pace as well, much needed for how I learn. will be watching more of your planet zoo content. extremely helpful thank you
Thank you! Glad you find it helpful!
Got the game in steam sale but I haven't tried it yet. But oh boy here you come, thanks!
Well hopefully this helps when you do start to play! 😄
great video for me, i struggled a lot, now it's easier to play with that new info!:)
Thank you, glad you found it useful!
Thank you so much for this its really helpful
Thank you so much this was really good information I really enjoyed this I hope this series is still going
Thank you! Yes the series is still going, a new episode to come in the next couple of weeks hopefully!
Suggested names for the lizards - Lizardnardo Devinci (because he is creative); Lizzy Borden (because she likes axes); Sergeant Slitherscales; Queen Elizardbeth
Haha great names!! Thanks E.R.!
fantastic video!
Yes! I own this game but suck at playing. Can't wait to see your take on it.
Yey hopefully this will help! Such a fun game 😄
Have subscribed today..... I enjoyed the video and learned a few things I did not know before........ did not even know about the reduced animal aging rate setting there so a great tip.
Thank you! And welcome to the channel!
exactly what i was hoping for!!!!!!! PERFECT FEWC!!!!
Yey!! Glad you enjoyed it! Episode 2 out tomorrow 😄
I've been playing games my whole life... but my god I was overwhelmed when I loaded into this! The tutorial doesn't really help all that much, so this video is an absolute godsend!
I rarely comment on anything, but this was actually amazing. I kept my attention throughout and you were so thorough without repeating yourself too much! ❤
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the video 😄
This was really informative and, even though I've been playing for a while, I still learned some new tricks; I'll definitely be checking out other videos in the series. I would also suggest, for people new to playing Franchise mode, after hiring a zookeeper, vet, and mechanic to immediately change their pay to the lowest amount still in green to help save some money. Those three specifically get paid wayyy more at the start than they need to be. Also, if breeding decent animals is important, than after buying an animal, put it into the quarantine building ASAP and press play for a hot second so the game registers the animal. The game won't count the animal as being in the zoo until it's actually placed somewhere in the game (example: into a habitat or into quarantine) so it won't show up if you want to compare mates. This may be a specific feature for Franchise because a player can buy an animal from other peoples' zoos so until it's actually moved out of the Trade Center, the animal will continue to register as belonging to the seller's zoo.
Thank you for making this. I've been getting so frustrated trying to play but after watching this video things make a lot more sense. Btw, I love the finised result of this video. The zoo already looks so oool!
Thank you! So glad it was helpful for you!
As a pure novice I found placing the staff paths down first before placing the buildings down. The other way round I found them difficult to align. Got there in the end.
Very good point, that is definitely the easier way!
I loved this. I usually struggle with franchise mode and often stick to sandbox, but this was very clear and detailed. Thanks!
Glad it was useful thank you!
This was GREAT, for someone just starting , specially hope there's futher videos on habitat detailing, making path plazas, etc. Subbed!
Thank you! And welcome to the channel! Yes there's several more videos in this series already, with more to come. Very soon I'll be doing a plaza episode specifically on the design and placement of those, but lots on habitat detailing in there already!
ooh the terain. i think that was my favorite.
Thank you for this video! I recently got back into playing planet zoo after not playing for years and i totally forgot how to play the game lol
Thank you so much for teaching me the game, I was having a bunch of troubles before!
Glad this was helpful, thank you!
Love this series thank u for teaching me how to play
Aww thank you! It's a super fun game, just very complex (hence the length of the videos in this series! 😆)
