    That’s a beautiful Motorhome! We looked at a van i600meg once when we were going to change and loved it! You guys are really easy to watch and presented this brilliantly. The big windscreen certainly comes in to its own in amazing scenery doesn’t it 😃

    Nice van if we ever changed our van in the future I'd like a rear bed set up like yours.
    Thanks for letting us have a look around.

      Hi John just getting around to getting them fitted. The story is lockdown hit the dealers before they could fit them and they we worried the van would be in their compound for months, so told us to grab the van and take it home so we did. We probably should have had them fitted by now but we went travelling inside. Thanks for watching Helen and Martin

    I like the classic "German" bed configuration at the rear, and it looks like you don't have too many steps to climb to access the beds.
    Very sensible to have a manually operated front bed - those electrically operated ones often fail after a few years of use.
    We really like the Knaus brand, and currently have a compact 400 LK caravan which seems really good value for money.
    Knaus were very strong on after-sales support for our caravan, and authorized our dealer to fix a couple of of minor snagging issues quickly and without quibble.
    We also obtained a couple of spare keys from Knaus via the dealer and were pleasantly surprised at the cost of around £8.50 per key - as compared to around £42 for a set of three keys for our previous Hymer caravan!
    I hope you enjoy many years of travel with this great looking van, and thank you for all the well produced travelogues 🙂

    Thanks for the tour of your van. It’s very nice indeed. Interesting that you have gone for a slightly shorter van this time. The garage is very handy for the bikes and keeping them in the dry. We wondered whether an A class would suit us and we too would like to go for a slightly shorter van next time. Take care and enjoy the new season 😃👍🏻 Trev n Sue

      Thanks for watching guys , we like the headroom and all around vision of the A class , the length compromise in our case if felt in the galley and bathroom but we soon adapted. We love the garage space , we soon fill it though.

    Very good review Martin and Helen. I was a little surprised that you haven’t got refillable gas like SafeFill. During the review Helen mentioned various aspects of the motorhome but didn’t show them in a little bit more detail eg the Heki rooflight. Sorry to add a negative comment☹️ but on the whole a very very good first review as it is very different to your usual videos.

      It is different for us Andrew but normal service will be resumed on Tuesday. We haven't made a decision on gas, not sure where it's going long term especially in Europe. We do need solar panels though. I might pick your brains about Safefill not used it before. Thanks for watching and very well done on the running we are both cheering you on.

    Hi Guys.
    Love the content of all the videos.Very informative and no nonsense.
    I have just purchased a Knaus 900 live.I also have a noisy overhead bed when traveling!
    Any ideas on how to silence the noise?
    I live in Ireland and have no main dealer,I purchased it in Germany.
    So I will have to fix it myself or with my handyman brother.
    Looking forward to following the rest of your trip.

      Hi Michelle, congratulations on your new van. I hope you enjoy many happy miles travelling in it. We had our dealer adjust the bed fixings and we have also placed bedding on the bed when closed, even though we don’t use it to sleep in , it’s closed the gap. These have helped. Thanks for watching best wishes Helen and Martin

    Got the 650 MEG Live I. Wonderful. Two years old. Great for our trips here and there, but Hab battery failing….not holding charge. Have you had any issues. Mind you, got to find the battery first….think it’s under the seat….think this may be a job for the dealer.

      @HelenandMartinsTreks  Před 10 měsíci

      Hi great to hear you like your van , we still love ours. We did have a new Hab battery after two years, but no problems since. I think the dealers fit the hab battereis rather than the manufacturer. It's between the front seats in our van , rather than under. Best wishes Helen and Martin

    • @PNStringer
      @PNStringer Před 9 měsíci

      @@HelenandMartinsTreks Hi, had the Hab battery replaced. Located under the storage tray to the right of the drivers seat and handbrake. Was only a 80AH, 200 Cycles, 50% depth of cycle. As we are in the van 200 plus days a year, we are lucky have had two years out of it.
      Our electrician is seeking out AGM/Gel battery alternative to give better storage capacity, cycle numbers and available use. Would prefer Lithiam Ion, but that means changing plenty of the electrical charging, and monitoring side.

    Great info subbed . They seem reasonable cost , esp when compared to Neisman & Bischoffs Arto .

    • @HelenandMartinsTreks
      @HelenandMartinsTreks  Před rokem

      Hi Ged , thanks for subscribing to the channel. I understand there are long waits for vans, caused I am told by the difficulty in obtaining the Fiat running gear. Knaus seem to be moving as a result to Man/VW . This is not just an issue for Knaus of course. We are very happy with our van , we have been caravanning and motor homing for the best part of 20 years and it's the best van we have ever owned and not just for build quality , the design just makes sense if you know what I mean. We intend to keep it for a few years yet. Best wishes Helen and Martin

    We have been looking at one of these today. Is there any downsides to a klaus A class ?

    • @HelenandMartinsTreks
      @HelenandMartinsTreks  Před 2 lety

      We love ours Ian , after owning British we find the build better. I would want at least 140bhp engine , 160 even better. The only things we have had issues wise are a rattling over head bed which needed adjusting and a new starter on the Dometic oven which was sorted on warranty. Currently in the Pyrenees, the drive was a dream must comfortable I have been in a motorhome front seat. If you buy one, check you have unlimited windscreen cover on your insurance , they aren’t cheap to replace and that is an A class issue generally where some policies had capped levels of insurance cover. Best wishes with your decision Helen and Martin.

    • @HelenandMartinsTreks
      @HelenandMartinsTreks  Před rokem

      Hi thanks very much for your comments we really appreciate them and we're really glad that you enjoyed the videos. We love the van , it's two and a half years old and we have used it a lot and really there has been very little by way of issues. The bits that we have had have fixed under the warranty without hassle. We have considered the silver screens but so far haven't got around to it . Occasionally when it's cold you can feel the temperature dropping through the windscreen, so I can see why people do purchase them. We did have them on the previous van , but the A class versions do seem more fiddly, hence way we haven't bothered , but I wouldn't let that put you off. We have talked about it , but I think I would take the van to a manufacturer and let them measure it fully. Taylor Made in Huddersfield as a company we have been previously impressed with if you live in the North. Congrats on the new Van I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Hope that's helpful Helen and Martin

    • @HelenandMartinsTreks
      @HelenandMartinsTreks  Před 3 lety

      Rarely we take a car , normally we just use electric bikes and public transport, which in Europe is usually exceptional. Towing is a complex issue in Europe , A frames are permitted here and in France, but other countries i.e Spain do not permit so a trailer is required. Hope that helps thanks for watching.
