    I started learning g to drive @ the end of August 22. I past my theory test first time in October 22,. I booked my driving test @ the beginning of November 22 and was given a test date for 28/3/23. My driving instructor was able to bring it forward to 15/2/23. Unfortunately I failed first time due to nerves getting the better of me. I booked a further test and given test date for 31/7/23. Although my instructor advised had been test ready since December 22 this backlog caused me to have to take extra driving lessons and pay more costs to sit further lessons not being in a position to sit private lessons with friends or family. The DVSA are currently not fit for the purpose. I felt so strongly about it that I got my MP to write to transport minister for that department who came back with a load of spiel and excuses. I even started a petition online. Thankfully I past my test second time round @ Morden test centre and my instructor was able to bring my test forward for June. I would be interested if others would be willing to come forward with their experiences and perhaps put our heads together to see if something can be done about this. It seriously needs to change I feel.

      @@dinaglick8986 thank you for your reply. I’m sorry to hear your having such a hard time . I can imagine quite stressful . I totally agree it really is bad and I don’t know about you but something drastically needs to change . I’m glad you want to complain , quite rightly so . The difficulty I’m finding at the moment is numbers. The more numbers we have who oppose this the stronger chance we have of getting changes made to this appalling system. My first port of call was to take it up with my local MP who wrote to the transport minister in charge of that department. The more of us that do this the more ripple effect it could have . I appreciate you coming forward but we definitely need more number. Good luck with passing your test 😊✌️

      Can I sign your petition one year later it just got worse I just tried Monday to book a test and in 30 seconds all the slots were gone there's a big problem with a lot of bots and people booking tests just to resell them for more and the governments not doing anything about it because they get more tax money from it.

    I passed yesterday with a last minute test. The DVSA have handled the backlog terribly and it took me 3 times. Last minute cancellations are the only way to get it in Pinner (my centre) quickly. I spent 275 pounds to just get that test. Glad I passed and have escaped this horrible system.

    I’m lucky that I live near Great Yarmouth because Lowestoft and both Norwich centres are not as busy if you can get your foot In the door and use a cancellation app , there’s always close cancellations. even though the three centres are around 50% pass rate, that’s a lot better than 26%!!!

    • @fitnessfran
      @fitnessfran Před rokem +1

      It’ll take a lot more work than the DVSA are doing right now but it is possible! Pearson fixed the backlog with theory tests by adding a tonne more computers and increasing the availability of test slots. We need a load more examiners but the pay is shyte and no one wants to do it hence why they’ve recruited so few new ones 😢
