    I totally love these little vans. I've been looking at the N/Box for a couple of years, as well as several more of its variants, branded as Daihatsu and other auto makers.
    Here in the Philippines, there is a very popular little Suzuki van called the "Every", which is generally known as the "Transformer", and Mazda has one that's also much like this. They are very similar in size, shape, and wheel-base as the Honda N/Box.
    I have never seen the N/Box here at all, though I have seen a few of the Daihatsu iteration, on the roads here.
    The Suzuki Every must be imported to Philippines from Japan by independent brokers, because I have never seen that exact model for sale through the Philippine Suzuki dealerships.
    I would love to import these little vans to the US, but I'm not sure whether or not they would be allowed on US highways. Kind of sad that they don't sell anything like this, through their dealerships in the States.
    Just discovered your channel last night. I enjoy your content. Your work has great production values.

    So I drive N-box as a daily car in Tokyo for half a year now. I do like it for what it is - a city car. Saying that, my first words were that when we have a newborn it gets replaced with something bigger. Especially with the amount of old people on the roads and Japanese watching TV while driving. Japanese roads are way more safe that European roads, but still I don`t feel comfortable with how the car is designed.

    • @milesb1763
      @milesb1763 Před 6 lety +17

      Because it doesn't have enough power (or space for a big enough engine like the 1.5 T from the Civic) to satisfy the weird crave for power that Americans have. Also no one would buy it-- look at how the Nissan Cube did.

    • @mrxyz2k
      @mrxyz2k Před 6 lety

      Agree with Miles B as no one will buy it, you’ll need to change people thoughts first, or modify the car to met their needs.

    • @F22C1
      @F22C1 Před 6 lety +2

      Miles B I don't think it's that weird to want a car that can get out of its own way. Cars like the Smartcar are down right dangerous vehicles. How are you going to "save your grandkids" when you die in a crash because you HAD to have a car that has an ECO badge of honor? 🤔

    Looks a lot like my 2005 Scion (Toyota) xB first generation, but with Honda Element features. The first gen xBs were really popular; the body style change after 2006 killed the charm and thus doomed it for extinction. This Honda N-Box melds the xB and Element into one desirable car! I say adapt it for U.S. market and sell lots!

      Shane h it almost definitely wouldn't pass our frontal crash testing, so this exact vehicle will likely never be sold in the US. They could very well make a vehicle similar to this, but with a longer engine compartment. It would have a form factor similar to the scion XB. I think it would sell decently, but it wouldn't be as big of a hit here in the US because the boxy look just doesn't fit most Americans aesthetics.
