This is probably the most perfectly timed upload in the history of uploads. I was literally just sketching out the design for one for a friend for the summer!
Nice! ❤️❤️
The burnt orange fabric is beautiful ❤❤
i never thought about using table clothes as fabric for well anything so thank you for that revelation.
They work well, circular table cloths make good circle skirts!
This dress is lovely and you look so good in this style.
Thank you so much!
It turned out lovely! That's a great colour on you, too.
Thanks so much!
Lovely dress, it came out beautifully. I have plans for a 1470’S Ladies gown to be worn for a War of the Roses reenactment battle at Tewkesbury,(uk) in July.Xxxx ❤
Oooh! Awesome!
what a delight
Both of you look beautiful. my daughter has almost outgrown her medieval dress so she will need a new one thus time in purple, made from a find from Greenland, I hope there will be time make a two-colored dress for myself too, or one in a light wool, with short sleeves, maybe I can make a long pair to sew/pin on. So many ideas, so little time 😂
Sounds lovely!
You are a smart woman. You use pinking shears to cut out your fabric. I keep forgetting that and then I have regret. I don't have any big medieval costume plans as I'm focusing on WWI VAD uniform, but I want to do some fun historybounding tops that are kirtles but just tunic length. Both your dresses turned out great.
Thank you! Awesome project ideas! Good luck!
I am contemplating what era I would like to get into but I want my kids to learn how to sew.
I like the idea of some thing that is mostly straight lines because that's literally the hardest part of sewing in my opinion, so it's one of the best skills to learn in the beginning.
We could go Viking era or we could go with a medieval costume for northwestern Germany (which is not the dirndl) it's more like Czech/Danish influenced regions of northwest of Germany that was Prussia!
@@unfeathered that might work! They're both late teens so they might like something more substantial, but I appreciate you pointing out such a great tip!
I like both of those ideas!
Both dresses are gorgeous but I'm definitely partial to your sister's blue. That color is my favorite, half my closet is that color. 😊 Though i think i prefer you pattern.
I love the blue too!
You both look wonderful
Thank you!
Thanks for posting! I was looking for a plus size pattern for a LARP event in March. This is a perfect pattern for what I want. Watching you put it together is a huge help.
Great! Thank you for watching!
You both look lovely! Great twirl at the end 😊 I hope to make a linen kirtle this year.
Nice! Thank you!
oh my goodness you look amazing! the gown turned out really pretty i love the lacing on the sleeves
Thank you! I'm really happy with the result! ❤️
Adorei os dois vestidos. Cores lindas, costura caprichada, um caimento no corpo com um ar quase mágico!
Gostei, excelente a proposta e perfeita a realização.
Thank you so much! ❤️❤️
I love how this came out.
Thank you!
Another beautiful gown, thank you for sharing and the twirl! (What good is a gown if it is not twirlable?)
All the best,
Su
Right?! Thank you! ❤️
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Do you happen to have a favorite plus size/big and tall pirate/peasant shirt and/or pirate pant pattern? I’m trying to make us some lightweight linen costumes for the Ga Ren Festival (hot and humid) that protect us fully from the sun (lupus, RA, and their meds have made us into sun sensitive vampires lol). I’ve decided with my mobility issues I don’t want a dress this year (I kept getting the hem caught in my rollator wheels last year! Argh!) and Pinterest is letting me down at the moment.
Ora Lin has a pirate shirt tutorial and a pirate pants pattern on her Ko-Fi.
I'm planning on making them both later this year.
@@PocketFullofPoseys I’ll check out their patterns! Thanks!
This is a lovely dress. I fancy making one for myself. What under garments do you wear with this dress? Is it modern under clothes or something else historical?
I'm wearing a linen shift and modern bra and underwear. It's possible to make a shift that's supportive enough, but I haven't made one yet.
@@PocketFullofPoseys thanks for replying. That's very helpful 🙂
