These guys are absolutely amazing. Last September I attempted to take my own life after struggling every waking minute for 17 years. I found this amazing band shortly after and have listened to them, this song in particular, to not go through with the thoughts I was having. Many of their songs carry great messages like this one. I saw you did another one of their songs recently; these guys are so underrated it's almost criminal.

When I heard this song for the first time, I was literally crying my heart out - so touching it was to me. I thought that it must have been written by a person who has lived through all of this because the feelings described in the song are so true. Besides, this is the first time I've seen a video of someone recording his reaction to a song - a nice idea. You're doing a great job by promoting such powerful but underrated songs.

This is such an amazing song!!! I Love it!! It’s my favorite by Citizen Soldier!!! This is the message I had to help my daughter realize. She was suicidal due to a sexual assault that occurred when she was fourteen years old. Luckily she learned this lesson and she’s alive and finally happy now!!!
I discovered this band last night and they speak to me on a very personal level and helped me through a rough night and thoughts.
An interesting fact about this awesome song, is that the singer wrote the lyrics on a napkin while he was is in hospital after his suicude attempt.

This song was written on a napkin in the hospital after one of the artist's tried to take his life.
Whenever I have bad days and my past wants to creep back in this song helps pull me out
I always loved this song I always love the ones who made it in always will love the one who sings it
I was in a dark place 5 years ago, i would spend my time in high school trying to help people out. However, when it came to me reaching out my hand needing help mentally no one suddenly had the time or day for me. I eventually hade a mental breakdown that lasted for 2 days. On the second I had planned on putting an end to it all. A close friend of mine (now girlfriend) saw something was not right and tried getting me to talk. I tried turning my back on her while saying "What I am dealing with is none of your concern". As I went to walk away she grabbed me by the arm, made me face her, went from nice to stern, and said "I know that ain't true. Something is bothering you and it has me worried about you". Realizing there was no way out, I broke down and told what was going on and I wanted to end it all. She wrapped her arms around me and everything was going to be ok and said "if you ever need someone to talk to, I will be more than happy to listen". Because of her determination to not give up on me it gave me the strength and reason i needed to live. We have been together for 2 years and is the reason why I am still here.
