Built as D8001, this Loco is the second of the Class built in 1957. D8001 spent many of its BR Service years based at Toton Depot working merry go round coal trains.

can't beat the class 20's great machines thank you do you get other locos visiting from other preserved railways
Class 20’s are great 👍 yes occasionally there is other locos visiting. There is also diesel & steam galas. My son and me are currently helping out on a class 45 so hopefully that will be running soon too. 👍
Seems like every respectable heritage railway has a couple of old diesels standing around 😂

When was the third rail removed between Epping and Ongar ❓️
The line was closed by London Underground in 1994.

Nice But Is This Max Length Of The Whole Route ore is It Longer then in u video,s ?
Ongar used to be the terminus, but Epping is now the terminus for the central line. Most trains Arrive and depart Ongar for North Weald station. You can catch a train from north Weald in the direction Epping, but even though the tracks are still connected to Epping London Underground the trains from north Weald do not arrive there.
