The humour overall was legendary and IMHO is what made Corrie unmissable for so many years - and then, sadly, it all turned to sh** when the new breed of producers decided viewers needed to be "educated" instead of "entertained". There was already quite a lot of Feminist dogma creeping in though bought by women and men, without question. The casual misandry and generalisations of some of the women characters was crass.
