Military Landings: Lockheed C-130 Hercules & Alenia C-27J Spartan at Airport Bern-Belp

- Three military transport aircrafts of Royal Moroccan Air Force visited the Airport Bern-Belp. Among them were two Lockheed C-130 Hercules (CN-AOM / CNA-OJ) which left a characteristic trail of black smoke behind it. The impressive four-engine turboprop "Herky Bird" can carry over 20 tons at one go and has the ability to land on short and unprepared strips. The last incoming aircraft was an Alenia C-27J Spartan (CN-AMN). The twin-engined aircraft is equipped with the engines and systems of the Lockheed C-130 Hercules.

Die Königlich Marokkanische Luftwaffe landete gleich mit drei Transportflugzeugen im Belpmoos. Darunter waren zwei eindrückliche Lockheed C-130 Hercules, welche charakteristische schwarze Abgasstreifen hinter sich herzogen. Der viermotorige "Herky Bird" kann mit über 20 Tonnen beladen werden und sogar auf kurzen und unbefestigten Pisten operieren. Beim dritten Flugzeug handelt es sich um eine Alenia C-27J Spartan. Das zweimotorige Flugzeug verfügt über das gleiche System und die selben Motoren wie die Lockheed C-130 Hercules.

I have always being awed by the Mighty C-130 Hercules. A true work horse like none other. The roar of the turbo prop engines leaves no doubt of the lifting power of this impressive transport plane. I once again salute Lockheed Hercules. Cheers to the Alenia C-27J Spartan smaller but closely identical son to the Father Hercules.

+blackshadow888 Thanks! The Moroccan Rescue Team practice earthquake rescue techniques in a special rescue training centre in Switzerland. After a successful completion the team was classified as Heavy Urban Rescue Team.
