It’s not a surprise JF is struggling. People are really holding onto the idea that he can be a great QB. He could be a legit starter one day. But not a top 15 qb.
@@JWLSports Everyone thinks Pitt has some special "development" skills. Others think Tomlin is a QB whisperer. Many suffer from delusion in May and June. My prediction is the Steeler fans will chant Justin and his name into the game before week 8. When Tomlin breaks and puts him in it will mark the end of the Steeler season. Until Tomlin and the Steelers join the "NEW" NFL they will remain stuck in the mud. Their salary cap numbers tell the story.

Russ did win games with Sean Payton and the Broncos were in the hunt for the playoffs until he was benched. Russell Wilson beat Mahomes and Josh Allen before he was benched which proves Russ can still win being Russ. The reason Russ was benched was Payton wanted to rewrite the injury clause of Wilson's contract but was rebuked. Wilson is in a very good position since Tomlin will let the veteran play his style. Payton drafted a nice system QB out of Oregon who I likened to Breese before the draft so everyone got what they needed.
i think russ is better then kenny. i think arthur smith is better thank matt canada. i also think a rookie center will be better then mason cole last year

If Wilson plays like he did in Denver last year, the Steelers are winning the division. I get it all the other teams in the division are good, but they all also lost key players on their teams, and the Steelers played every one of those teams tough last year with no quarterback. Think about this the Steelers made the playoffs with virtually zero offensive help. The Steelers defense was on the field more than any team last year, and they were 6th in defense. If russ can just manage the offense and they can run the ball and keep opposing QBs on the sideline they will control the clock and win games. I am predicting a 11-6 record with the Bengals at 12-5 winning the division and Baltimore are Cleveland being 10-7 and 8-9

@tj-23 after giving up 70, that defense createdc14 turnovers in 4 games. The o line ranked 7th. Same issues will arise in pittsburgh.
But this has nothing to do with my point. The guy said the steelers try defense was on the field more than any team. Not true. The funny part, steelers defense was on the field almost identical to Denver.

@tj-23 and giving up 70 won't happen again...steelers line will give up 50 sacks and the defense will be on the field just as much as last year.
Kenny Pickett lacked the fundamental part but had some improv, hence the 4th quarter comebacks. Mason was decent at the fundamentals but had no ability to go outside that. Wilson should be able to do both.

Those games that Denver won last season. Wasn't because of Payton. It was the off script plays!! We're not going to give Sean Payton any credit. Saint went 7-8 two, three times after Brees retired! Russell Wilson had more touchdowns than your MVP Lamar Jackson last season. And played less games 🤣. His touchdown to inception ratio was top 4. I think Wilson will be a significant improvement over even Rudolph, but he isn't the answer even short-term. The Steelers know this. Wilson was only brought on board to push Pickett until Pickett decided he didn't want to be pushed, at which point Fields amazingly fell into their lap for nothing. Right or wrong, Fields is their future. Even if Wilson balls out and takes them deep into the playoffs, the Steelers are not going to make a large, long-term financial commitment to a 37yo QB who's already showing declining skills. That strategy burned them with Roethlisberger.
Russ is a big upgrade! Pickett and Rudolph are C- backup QBs who probably are gonna throw a pick when they get in the game…So glad they’re gone!!

It'll be like it is with Russ every year. They won't move the ball for two to three quarters. Wilson will take 3+ sacks a game. Half his throws will be dump offs to the running back. He'll constantly run out of open pockets. He will set up in the back of the pocket, and when it starts closing, instead of stepping in, panic and take off. Lots of garbage time stats will be put up. Steelers fans will be sick of him by week 4.

@@MikkiChavez: Yeah, it’s because they just like him better. Russ is corny and people don’t like his interviews. THAT is the reason. To be fair, Russ would win a lot more people over by talking less but he just lives the sound of his own voice a bit too much. It drives people crazy when he interviews.
I think they should let Russ play the first half of the season and then get Justin’s fresh arm in there for that 8-week gauntlet at the end of the season. I honestly don’t know how Russ will do with 3 games in 9 days at his age. I could be wrong.
