LYRICS
A universe to fill
I can't scratch the surface now
A slow pay still
Why's everyone watching
It's like I'm real tired of the clones
I'm real tired of the clones
Whatever you you say
Whatever you say
Whatever you say
Bring me the light
Make my life worth something more
Show me the light
Bring the light
Bring me the light
Make my life worth something more
Show me the light
Bring your light
Where's the space I fill
Where's the sympathy I killed
I need to find a meaning
I'm useless, I'm useless
Trapped inside my own web
Whatever you you say
Whatever you say
Whatever you say
Bring me your light
Make my life worth something more
Show me the light
Bring the light
Bring me your light
Make my life worth something more
Show me the light
Bring your light
When I'm all alone
I stare at nothingness
Painful silence, painful silence (Kills)
Bring me your light
Make my life worth something more
Show me the light
Bring a light
Bring me your light
Make my life worth something more!
Show me your light
Bring a light
Whatever you say
Whatever you you say
Bring me your light
Make my life worth something more
Show me your light
Bring a light

If you searched this, then you have impeccable taste in music.
Definitely one of the most underrated bands EVER!!!
I remember seeing them live around 2000, it was insane. always loved them. That era of arena madness was intoxicating
All I had to do was type w and it pulled this up. Sevendust is so badass. Great live as well.
I actually looked for a _waffles_ song, but this will do...
Tell me you're new to Sevendust without telling me you're new to Sevendust... This band is far from underrated. They play major festivals regularly.
@@brandonhall4250 bro I am the opposite of new to Sevendust and I can say that what it means is that they aren't talked about as widely in the general culture.
As a black person I've been with rock and metal since a kid then switched to rap than got tired of rap back to this
Rap has its place in nightclubs. Sevendust songs are for the home and car stereo.
Listen to both you aint wrong for that
I'm im between. Depends on mood and mind set.
Tavaugheya Cannon tried getting into rap music because all of my friends are into it but I got really bored of it and I came back to this and race has nothing with what music you like
@@Morphical I think its funny when people try to limit a persons ability to enjoy certain music genres based off of race. Then all the black guys are surprised when I can recite their favorite rap song. Like yea bro, I got a brain with memory capabilities also!
Asked a girl out on a first date to a Sevendust concert at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, in 2007, she didn't even know who they were, needless to say, we ended up married and are still kickin it 16 years later! No tellin what a badass concert will do for ya!
They coming back to tabernacle October! I’m going to see them for the first time !
Congrats
For real...that's really badass... I went to Rockville 2023... And come to find out a couple got married there during the show.....
Justice of peace was on side of guards and did it....
Congrats bro..... 🎉
the girl at the rock show !
Hell yeah that's what's up
I can't really think of a more underrated band. All due respect.
Great live too
its because the singer is black mate
nadz yea Dude stfu. No it’s not. I can tell you watch the news hard! Stay away from that junk. It’s lies.
I'd love a Spineshank-Sevendust show!
Deftones, 10 years and yes sevendust
Man, what I love the most about Sevendust, Lajon's voice is so damn powerful, and he doesn't even have to scream. Just very commanding and harsh.
kinda like Maynard Keenan's voice
He rocks it for sure!
@@Keegeth I would love to see Tool and Sevendust tour together!
Because this sing came out when bands like (puke) limp bizkit were topping the charts.
Reminds me of Corey Glover.
Anyone Still Playing This Masterpiece In 2024?.
Damn right we are! Had my 20 month old daughter in my arms listening to it after she was crying. It calmed her down and she passed out by the end of it! lol.
Seeing them tonight!

We here!
The first Sevendust song I ever heard! Still kicks ass 17 years later. Home and Animosity are permanently part of my car CD rotation.
+bucky468 Gentlemen, gentlemen, why argue, when we can appreciate them both?
+Agustas “Spoyodude179” Stephaunzz denial was my 1st there very underrated band
+bucky468 lol, the fuck they are.
Agreed :)
17 years ago?? Fuck, I remember buying this at Sam Goody. Goddamn, time flies.
We need more black rock singers.
Agreed - like Howard Jones.
No we don't

I can't believe this song is 21 years old.
2020 and still rockin this shit. Hearing Sevendust in the late 90's early 2000's was a freakin privilege. Words cannot describe hearing these songs when they came out
+1
I feel ya on that, I was 17 at the time
I was about 12 years old recording Denial over tapes from the rock station (94.9 Zeta in South Florida now defunct). I would wait for the daily countdown at 5 to hear them. These guys are so amazing they take a deep hold in my childhood.
@@Mfernandez429 I feel that my friend, I was 17 at the time, brings those high school memories for sure.
Still gives me chills to this day.
Are we at that point? Has it been long enough that we can call this "Classic" Sevendust now? This song is timeless 🤘
I dont understand how I've never heard this band before. this song is awesome.
What rock did you crawl out under????? Funny dude!!!!!... You're pulling my leg...
Welcome to the fam lol. They been around for forever
Welcome
@@taylorhynes7708 I mean your saying that like they’re really famous cuz they’re very underrated
@@taylorhynes7708 He’s probably a young kid
They're a great band. I'm military and have been away too much, Sevendust played a show in our waiting camp. They gave it all. I have not really listened since their first album, awesome, and I lost them after that. They still know how to rock a small crowd though, and besides playing, they give a shit about us. Thank you.
11 years ago I was leaving Iraq. Brother, you know exactly what this song touches in us.
Great to know that they give back. Didn't know this about the band! Very Cool and your Service is so very appreciated! Welcome Home.
Only Pogs got this kind of sht
One of the first concerts I went to Sevendust filled the spot of a band that canceled last minute, and they went hard for us to make up for it.
Listening in 2024
Yep
01:10 That riff in the chorus is so rythmically tasty and that heavy groove is great
These guys helped me burn out the rage and resentment I had as a kid be it while skateboarding, MMA or in my room trying to release pent up feelings as a loner/Outcast teen. Not sure how to explain it but these guys hold a special place in my memories and heart and I cant thank them enough for being the voice that shouted everything I felt inside. You have my eternal respect.
Nice! For me that was Linkin Park as a 90's skater kid. But Sevendust is gnarly in their own right. I really like JW's powerful voice.
It was definitely refreshing to hear the wave of heavy bands getting a shot which offset the surge of bubblegum bullshit overtaking the airwaves. Deftones, Tool & APC, Incubus, System of a Down, RATM, even Kid Rock before he turned sellout shitkicker cowboy. Also some lesser known bands at the time: Taproot, Reveille, Cold & Chevelle.
It was awesome to hear so much good music being created. It felt like every single time I went to the record store I would find some other awesome band I'd yet to discover.
IM WITH YOU
@west coast Im genuinely happy for u and am grateful for the peak into your shadow world. I, like millions of others, also know how suffocating those dark places can get, and how difficult the struggle can be to get to the other side. But most importantly u inspire hope in the hearts of the lost and lonely. Keep shining. The warmth radiating from your light will help lead the way.
@West Coast Vibes, Dude I had a ton a friends as a kid growing up through my teens as well but now at age 30 it's the most hardest thing to find... a friend who shares the same values, music, and all down a good person. Most people seem faker than usual these days but I feel ya man the loneliness can literally eat a person up from the inside out. I'm not a bad person at all whatsoever but I can't find a person I can click with or just kick it somewhere, it's sad really... but I know it's making me stronger especially getting over this very bad break up
Yeah that hurts alot as well. But know you aren't the only one bro. Wish ya well. Oh and If you aren't already trying giving yourself a workout when feeling frustrated, but I'm guessing you're already do that. Lol sorry for rambling on but your comment brought me back to my reality.
2:40- "WHEN I MOW THE LAWN, I STARE AT NOTHINGNESS!!!"
That's how you know you're doing the job right...
Oh i know exactly whats going on...."pray fo' salad!....Shyiiit"
ive been lovin sevendust since i was in 7th grade. im now 31 and have never heard the "mow the lawn" bit. Spot on! Hilarious.
HAHAHAHA I literally scrolled down and read this as he sang it!!!!!!!!!
When I'm alone
I stare at nothingness
Soulful voice and metal. Awesome combo!
Handsome Bastard yes
Lajon is one of the best. Awesome live band !
Hell yeah 👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
Nu-metal
Arguably the most underrated band of all time.
You sir are very correct in that statement
Kings X and Vertical Horizon too
Another band with a black lead vocalist holds title of most underrated band......KINGS X

Been a black metalhead ever since I can remember! Reminds me of High School days!
This man's voice is crazy even live its the best I've ever heard!! Soo true!!!
This is officially my second fav band next to DEFTONES
David Ramirez i love deftones
👍
Haha, same dude!
David Ramirez Deftones are my fav!! Seen I’m like 5 times. Once with Sevendust. Sick show!
Hell yeah..DEFTONES!!!
I love watching Morgan going crazy on the drums. He's awesome to see live! Love the whole band!
This band is one of the prime examples of mid-to-late 90's through early 2000s' actual really GOOD music.
This comment!! 100%
I like this so much. The drums and guitar goes hard.
Drummers a fuckin badass for sure.
Fuck yes
They rock! Their singer is what sets this band apart for me
Why talk about the drums or guitars? When the singer(Lajon or LJ) goes harder then both.
Um Vinnie The Boss also kills this!
I've been a huge fan since 1995. I've got to do security for several of their shows the past few years. I still like them as much as the first time I heard them.
Saw them in sacramento, ca back in 95. instant fan.
Fuck yeah!
First saw them supporting Megadeth, "Cryptic Writings tour" fucking amazing
The most underrated band of all time! Bad Azz!

Fun fact: this was actress Krysten Ritter's very first role 0:50
Thats so badass
nice
@Omega Iceman Cometh R/random
@Omega Iceman Cometh No, it really would not. In fact, it'd be about as far from badass as you can get.
@Omega Iceman Cometh Well played king, hard to tell these days.
Sevendust, head PE, P.O.D., POP Evil, Rage, Living Color, Killswitch Engage, - perfect driving play list! Banging gears and ringing ears.
Sevendust is one of the most underrated Bands out there. Just listen to them and you are hooked. Hard, Harsh, Smooth, Flowing, and more are all part of what makes this band so great!
I've only had the chance to see them live one time and it was great.
Thanks for everything you guys do!
I’m a middle aged mom of 3 in a Midwest country setting. All my friends listen to country & are unhealthy. I watched 2 friends fade away recently to cancer, one is close to her end on kidney dialysis & diabetes. Your music 🎶 gives me power & focus to get things done like cooking healthy food & working out, getting out the stress…🙏🎶
“Angel son “ will definitely hit ! It’s such a touching / beautiful song with so much meaning
Needs to be added back into the show playlist!!!! I need to hear this live again!!! 🤘🔥
This band is the prime example of how to maintain quality throughout a lenghty career. They were, and still are, perfect.
One of Sevendust's biggest songs ever! Lajon and Morgan providing vocals that kill!
This is Sevendust’s best song. Completely embodies every part of their sound and strengths. The epitome of their power. No one else can sound like them 😎🖤🤘🏻 Seeing them perform this live multiple times is heaven.
I don't know Angel son is right up there!
Yea I agree. This one of my personal favorite.🤘🤘
2020...??? Seriously the best song for the era!!!!
Cranked at 10 the 1st and 2nd albums are the KILL for those 100 mile bike rides in the mountains!!!! Thanks 7dust! I'm in GREAT shape for 50.
Right fuckin' with ya dude.
exactly where I'm coming from!
Jamie Clark Guitar freaks. Love it.
That is so true about this stuff great for bike rides...bike took a shit kicking from these guys!!!
I'm 36 and a 55 year old guy got me into downhill mountain biking this last summer. I have trouble keeping up with him!
Saw these guys live so many times. Great shows and great times.
I've seen them twice myself, FUCK YEAH!!!
This song/band is hard AF been listening since '99...
Lajon is great! Sevendust is amazing live. He sees you getting pumped up.. And you can see him inspired... And eye contact gets that adrenaline pumping!
Jennifer Campbell | Going to my first 7Dust show in ATL in December. Your comment has made my heart pound in anticipation! 🔥💯🔥
kind of song that never gets old!!!... damn!
I saw these guys at a place called Emo's in Austin, TX in 1997. They shook hands with everyone in the front row, sounded amazing, class act. I'm eternally grateful they're still around making tracks like Thank You and Risen that blow the roof off my brain and send waves of inspiration and empowermemt up and down my spine. Can't say enough great things
Everyone in the band are so 90's badass looking and it's awesome
If THAT song doesn’t get you going, well then there’s something seriously wrong with you! That song can do NO wrong! ❤️
Listening to all this old Sevendust tonight, and this has gotta be my fave. The way it goes from melodic slow to harder riffs is impeccable.
2020 here we go!
May 3rd 2020 What A Strange Time To Be Alive
@@BrosepherStoned I know right😂
this song is badass...still. sevendust is such a great band. gotta be my favorite.
This video deserves to have 10,000 million with an additional 1,500 plus a complimentary 7,000 bazillion views...making it the most viewed video on YT in recorded history.
You're my people if you still jamming to sevendust STILL TIL THIS DAY !!!❤
Sevendust, korn, tool......all have in common a bassist that is off the chain....what a difference THAT makes....
First time I saw them was somewhere around 2001 (give or take a couple years) they were one of the opening acts to either Creed or Perfect Circle ( this was 2 decades ago my bad on details) the show was cancelled because either Stapp or Maynard was sick. This was a show at the schottenstein center in Columbus Ohio.
Here's the important part. Why the first detail of who was headlong doesn't matter.
Seven dust said bllshit we are still playing. They moved over to the Newport (yes the one where Dime Bag Darrel was killed at) and blew the roof off... For free. We used our original tickets showed em at the door kept them for the rescheduled other show.
Most under rated Late 90's early oughts band out there.
Best night of my life when Lajon stage dived and his boot hit me straight in the side of the head 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Rare to see a black person lead singer in a rock band but he is a hell of a good singer.
Great song, an amazing band, and the beautiful Kristen Ritter in the video.
This song totally rocks! When I'm mad i crank this up in my Mustang and go!!!
Yea totally agree with you its awesome
Bailey Bisson their songs are addicting!
Michelle Ridling yea there my favorite band now
👊🏻😎
I love this band! I never forgot this song! It was one of my favorites!
I can’t wait to go to their concert
I had never heard of this band before I saw them with alter bridge this past summer. When they came out on stage I had no idea what to expect. What I got was raw energy and I was instantly hooked!
This song gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it and almost brings tears. It reminds me of my journey through life trying to find purpose and understand the world around me, and my low self esteem that drives me towards finding a greater purpose in life and taking steps to be more confident in myself😭
This is fucking fire !! I think these guys were unlucky and way ahead of their time. Lot of talent in this band which was a rare thing when these guys were rocking.
I've seen these guys about a dozen times, always an amazing show. Such an underrated band, the vocals are amazing 🤟
Just discovered them this year. They are just what I needed. Hopefully we keep seeing stuff come out from this outstanding group.
I LOVE THIS BAND!!!!
This song is so freaking good. I first heard Sevendust back in 1997 on a compilation CD. I bought their CD and then saw them live. They rock.
TIMELESS guitar riff, will never stop being awesome
Best band In the 90´s hands down. Heavy and extremely musical.
I been hooked on this song for the last month can't stop listening to it. Love sevendust
This was the song that got me into Sevendust. My first concert was in 2001 with over 20 concerts since then, this band still my #1
I am an older rock n roll junkie. I look and feel for todays artists that bring the noise and the soul of music. 7dust has a lot of character. They r solid.
These boys put out some damn fine metal and put on an even better show.
How can so many Sevendust songs have so few likes??? Criminally under rated
Here it is, the song that started it all for me with sevendust, little did I know that sevendust would become one of the most important musical influences in my life!
STILL a kick@ss tune. I just can't get enough of this. Literally listen to it everyday. One of the best ever...
LOL, been a fan since the 90s. They were so underrated back then. But you will never guess how many friendships I have made over the years when talking music to strangers and I mentioned Sevendust. Still friends with some to this day, over 20 years later.
BRING ME THE LIGHT MAKE MY LIFE . WORTH . SOMETHING. MORE ! !
goddammit, this takes me back to the summer I graduated high school. This album, Significant Other, and Powerman 5000 were the soundtrack to my summer. So many good memories cruising around blaring this album
One of the loudest live bands ever!! These guys are amazing🤘❤😎
Have enjoyed these guys since high school. Loved this song then, and I enjoy it as much 18 years later. Sevendust still my favorite all time Hard Rock group.
Thanks to this band I got into metal music and haven't looked back since! Parents weren't happy about it though lol
Can't stop loving this song. It is awesome!
OMG Sevendust is so underrated. I was privileged to see them at the Fillmore in MD last month. Amazing.
He is purely " BADASS!"
sounds great. This guy has an amazing voice, great metal guitar tones. outstanding!
Bring me a light, make my life worth something more!!!
After all these years. This song still has meaning to me. Lajon.. your a kickass singer bro
i love the build up to the chorus, and then when the chorus hits it just starts thrashing
