Taipei is one of my favourite cities in Asia.. Been there many times.. Taiwanese people are very nice..

I miss taipei and all of Taiwan one real well kept secret in Asia it’s people are so friendly and curious about foreigners have rarely experienced such a welcoming country in Asia! The food ! The bubble tea! The mountains the sea all is wonderful in that pearl country! Hopefully it will stay ROC!

So happy to hear you got to visit Taiwan Gabi! I've traveled there many times and also lived there for a year. I love Taiwan!
Try the fried stinky tofu. It's not as stinky, has great flavor, texture, comes with delicious pickled cabbage, and tastes amazing. The smell at first can be a little off putting, but once you take a bite, you'll be addicted for life. Good for digestion too!
Check out some traditional tea houses in Taiwan. Taiwan is famous for its Oolong tea. There's many in Da'an district in Taipei. You can also visit where they grow the tea in the mountains as well!
So many hot springs in Taiwan. Def worth checking them out! One of my favorite towns for hot springing is in Yilan County (Jiaosi Hot Springs).
If you have the time, I recommend renting a scooter/motorcycle/ or even bicycle and doing a tour around the island. Taiwan has so much to offer! The people are so kind, scenery is gorgeous, and the food delicious!

Taiwan is the best! You should also visit the south like Kaohsiung and Kenting. The weather there is usually much nicer.

wow, so busy and modern... i had a short stopover on my way to bali and basically only saw the view from the airplane and the airport itself but it looked like it is worth a visit!

Before tourism and mass marketing. We did most of our travelling in the 70's. No queues. No lights. Just normal amount of people. So relaxing.
