This is from Stevie Ray's brand new podcast from Title Match Wrestling Network! Joined by co-host Matt Topolski, Stevie Ray
shares an incredible story about Haku (aka Meng in WCW). Apparently Haku got into a fight with some cowboy at a bar in North Dakota. Stevie Ray walks in moments later only to see Haku using his "Tongan Death Grip" finishing move on the cowboy! Chaos ensued shortly thereafter. Stevie Ray says this is the 1st time he's ever told this story publicly.

I watched an old school bouncer use that Tongan death grip back when I first started turning out in 94 (Wigan, England) that guy was out in seconds
Haku should open-up his own self-defense dojo . . . .
“If that’s what you wanna call it”
God I could listen to Haku stories all day 😂
Man that gave me chills when he said it like that 😆
And Stevie Ray telling then too. He's a great story teller.
My favorite Haku story ends with "...and the cop said 'you know, I've never seen pepper spray just not work'."
I could almost hear Haku saying that would taste good on steak I would be afraid if I was one of the cops that had to put on the cuffs he probably could break them
My mother was a jailer for the small town I grew up in and they arrested a guy one night for disorderly conduct. The jail was small (think the Mayberry jail) but had solid doors with a pass through vs bars and not equipped for long term detention (basically a drunk tank type deal) and they called the county to transport him to their facilities. When they went to remove this guy (very big guy), he refused to leave the cell and had wrapped a sheet around the door handle and his wrist. This guy was holding the door shut while FOUR deputies tried to pull it open. They eventually pepper sprayed him and still couldn’t get the door open, he would hold the door with one hand and wipe his eyes with the other and then swap hands. They tried to taze him but because of the angle through the pass through couldn’t hit him and couldn’t reach him with a handheld unit either. They finally had to use a cattle prod, that’s about 3 feet long, to subdue him and then it was still a huge struggle after they got the door open. Has me wondering if Haku was ever in the little town of 96, SC (yes it’s name is 96) and got arrested there. 😂🤣🤪 Funny thing was that the guy came to the jail very peacefully when he was originally arrested.
When Stevie says "Let me tell you what happened" and pauses, I just knew this was going to be good.
Hülegü Khan I like your name!! I just read a bunch of books about genghis and Kublai Khan. What great history.
Stevie Ray is a monster too. And the dude is talking like haku is boogey man lol
A prime Lesnar Beats Haku. Why? a prime Lesnar fought and beat trained fighters. Haku beat drunks at bars. Big difference.
"All kinds of shit flying, people flying" lol. You know when Haku is in a bar !
Freddie Kreuger tried to enter Haku's nightmare, once. He's never been sighted again.
THAT'S REAL GOOD
oh he's been seen but the experience scarred him so bad it completely changed his appearance he now looks more like Jackie Earl Hayley than Robert Englund
Freddie Kreuger became Pee-Wee Herman after he met Haku
Too good
Hahahahaha
I love Stevie Ray. He’s like the Charlie Murphy of wrestling.
Bill Gandon cold blooded! King Kong ain’t got shit on Meng!
Completely agree.
So true
He reminds me of Michael Jai White
Thats a great comparison.
I’d just pictured Haku putting someone in that death grip in a bar fight!! 🤣😂🤣😂
Who doesn't lol
When the entire Pro Wrestling community states Haku is the toughest baddest man to compete , enough said .
@NEGUS MBARKA I'd love to see you say that to Haku's face

Got to meet Haku (Meng to me) and speak to him for a few moments. His smile, eyes and handshake were amazingly warm and personable for such a bad ass human being
Karl Renner I’ve heard the same for years and you don’t mess with the quiet guys
The Rock's grandfather Peter Maivia had the exact same reputation has Haku. One of the nicest sweetest people you would ever meet in your life and the absolute last person on the planet that you wanted to get mad at you.
@Karl Renner: the real tough guys fight for real (UFC)!!!
@@michaelmetric65 that's because, he doesn't need to act tough, he knows he can kill anyone who fs with him.
Wrestlers have said his niceness is amazing but don’t cross him

When Chuck Norris has nightmares, it's of Haku
BullShit!!! If Chuck Norris grabs a Beer bottle too firmly, Haku's Eyes roll Back in his Head and gasps from 5000 miles away.

Stevie sounds like the kind of friend and bro everyone needs. Haku is a beast, but Stevie is the man
Just another day in the life of Haku :)
gluesniffer2.... probably just another boring Tuesday for him
I love that you can see the exact moment Stevie Ray remembers the fight.
Stevie talks some real shit
Stevie speaks facts hands on .
This Stevie Ray special never gets old. I always come back to this one.
Imagine walking down any street in America seeing two huge dudes running out of a bar, jump into a Prius then as they silently "speed" away, you realize it was Stevie Ray & Haku, lol. Mind = blown. Classic story.
The funny part would be seeing them haul ass directly across the road like its a cartoon.
lol
@chazatlas
I can barely imagine either of them being able to fit in a Prius, much less that Prius being able to do anything remotely like hauling ass with over 600lbs of human weight inside!!!
it couldn't have been a Prius. He probably said so because it was a small POS car. Back then the Prius didn't exist.
Haku beat up a whole medium sized town once, in desperation they called in the army & he beat them up as well
There's a video of Rick Steiner describing an incident in which he witnessed Haku knock out 5 Marines in a matter of seconds. He also once said "Scotty and I always thought we were tough guys but that was before we met Meng ". When Rick Steiner says that then that's the word
😂😂😂😂😂
Wow 🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣 lol
Wasn't Rick Rude also there fighting with Meng against the marines?
haku knocked out about 5 & Rude took out 2 or three. Why would you fuck with him when you have Haku,Rude,Steiner,Henning & whoever else was there. Kinda stupid. But like in this video people drink & think they become tough.
MMAfan: And Steiner ain't no joke. He's a legit grappler. My question is: If UFC was around back then, could Haku have had a future in it?
DAMN. Haku toughest sob and having stevie ray sharing the story . DOUBLE TOUGH
"Haku is the toughest man in wrestling history." - Signed, everybody in wrestling history
If he's drinking, he's basically invincible.
Legend has it when Haku walks into a bar.. Chuck Norris leaves through the back.
He would have murdered Norris
Stevie Ray always makes me laugh with the way he tells stories. God bless you brother.
lesnar hates to be hit. haku likes to be hit. end of story.
saxmaniac7 he took all Mark hunts shots he’s the hardest hitter in the UFC and smashed him.. so he can take a punch

So does Meng/Haku get to shoot up with Elephant roids too??
" yeah and Haku and the whole roster weren’t? Wwe fanboys would blow this dude off who never had a professional fight in his life.
Haku is probably the toughest S.O.B. in wrestling history.
These stories about Haku are legendary. Also us Poly ppl are terrible at handling our alcohol🤣😂
Sad but true
There are reasons why Allah forbid us to drink alcohol.
Haku for president.
Man do I miss this podcast .
Stevie Ray is a natural
Thanks Stevie Ray for another description of the most feared, most respected man in the business .
Stevie Ray's commentary on this is COMEDIC GOLD 😭😭😭😭😭

Why doesn’t Stevie Ray have a podcast? I can listen to his stories all day. I don’t even watch wrestling anymore.
I can listen to his voice
You can listen to his brother's Podcast, the HOF podcast with Booker T.
@@Chris-kb6vf True. He is definitely a better storyteller. I am surprised he doesn't have his own podcast. I would love to tune in if he did.
@@Chris-kb6vf same here haha. Haven't followed wrestling since 2002. So I just love listening to old wrestling stories of when I used to watch as a kid and get their inside story.
He does now, follow his Patreon - StevieRayTV
Stevie Ray is a real bro. Save your friend first, ask questions later.
Haku is a beast. Pain means nothing to this man
Based on other wrestlers stories and memories, I have absolutely no doubt that Haku is not only the “toughest” wrestler that’s ever been in the business, he might be one of the toughest most dangerous people on the planet. He seems to actually enjoy the whole fight process, whether he’s getting hit or doing the hitting. In a REAL fight I have little doubt that in his prime (maybe even today) he could take Lesner apart like a Tonka toy.
Even MMA fighters like Don Frye ( check it out) saying he´s that dangerous XD
The crazy part is there is an entire island of people who look like or similar to Haku. All those guys from the islands are legitimate tough and no Joke
It's a shame he never got a championship run...
RIGHT!!! Should have been at least a 5 time champion!
Well with Harlem Heat he did. He and his brother Booker T. So that counts.
@@rufist607 I was talking about Haku..
He did with andre....they were tag champions.....
If he would have gotten the belt during his run in WWE during the early 2000's, he would have held it for as long as he wanted. Triple H wouldn't have been able to bury Haku.
Haku lives in Orlando FL ...had the privilige to meet him indeed a big Guy...Stories are Legendary in my opinion one of the thoughest Bad ass of Wrestling !
Damn the Tongan Death Grip is so deadly it will make you shit, piss and vomit all at once? Thats some scary shit right there lol

Lmao
Yep it is actually a nerve hold like the death blow
“He actually got in a fight with somebody.”
“If that’s what you want to call it.”
Haku = legend
The pause Stevie Ray leaves between the "Bismarck" and "North Dakota" signals that this is going to be an awesome Haku story.
I actually used the Tongan death grip on my jiu-jitsu class they didn't see it coming!
its just a simple wind pipe choke with your thumb and first finger,, if you have a strong grip,, you can actually tear a mans windpipe out of his neck just like in roadhouse,,,ive used it a few times,,not to kill of course,, but when a dood cant breath he usually gives up immediately !! or trys to kill you,,lol
Stevie Ray is the realest dude on here. Thanks for keeping it 100 my man!
Haku remains the biggest BadAss iN wrestling EVER
The fact that he said he has to be the grown up around these knuckleheads made me laugh 😂
I knew Haku/tonga personally and what he had was an unnatural amount of strength that made him very dangerous
Sure you did

Upload a Stevie Interview daily and I'll definitely be watching!! Love these videos
I can see Haku breaking a nose instantly with a real headbutt. Once he grips you’re wind pipe it’s over. Lotta pressure.
I heard someone tell that story years ago that was there and he said some Big ol cowboy sitting next to Haku asked What tribe he was from,Haku said Tribe?I ain’t no F’ng Indian & it was on!!
I love at 3:24 when he is talking about women screaming like they are witnessing a wild beast attack😂 .Which tbf they were lol
You watch these videos, and I'm telling you Stevie was wasted by who he worked for...yeah, he had titles, and was a huge success, but these interviews show how good this man is when he's speaking. This is a man w/ all the talent needed to do the promo work and just KILL IT in the ring...
You know these stories are TRUE. When EVERY damn wrestler has a Haku road story. They can't all be making them up. Haku is a VERY VERY dangerous man when made angry. But you get on his good side and respect him. He's quite a nice gentleman that i had the chance too talk with.
"WHEN HAKU DRINKS.......HE GETS CRAAZY" true words👊
In late 2001, I saw Haku at a nightclub north of Cincinnati. He was sitting by himself chilling.
2:59 “this guys about to SHIT himself” hahahah holy shit I fucking lost it
"Let me tell you what happened"
Everybody watchin' this vid, stopped Chewin', Fuckin' or paused on the Stair-Stepper when Stevie said that!! xD
😂😂😂
I've heard stories of Haku as a legit tough guy. By the time Haku wrestled in Puerto Rico in the early 80s, he got involved in a bar brawl in San Juan with another wrestler. Thing is that it needed like six or eight cops to put him under control, and when they tried to restrain him, the handcuffs couldn't fit Haku's wrists. Because if this mess, he got fired from WWC, and he still has an arrest warrant.
Definitely sounds like something Haku would be involved in!😂
The legend Stevie Ray! The Harlem heat is the greatest tag team ever IMO
Stevie Ray is a real Bro. Good level headed dude looking out for one of the boys.
Samoans and Tongans + Alcohol = Better be on their good side. Not saying they're all crazy on alcohol. Whether they're belligerent or not... it's best not to act a bad ass. I've seen it in person more than once and it's not a pretty sight. They are extremely strong sober and when drunk they have what many call retarded strength
Lol very true, served in the army with alot of Samoans and Tongans and alcohol does NOT mix well with them.
Trust me bro I'm from NZ and I've been on the piss with quite a few Islanders and let me tell you they are crazy!!! Beautiful people but boy when they've had a few, it's best to look out when the Island boys are around drinking 🤙🤙🤙
This is why I keep my brothers in check. One in is jail, he put another dude in the hospital with one blow to his head. Was in a coma for two days. I'm thankful for the mans life. It wasn't funny. And my brother was hated and the guy's family began racist rants towards my Samoan people but the guy stayed humbled. I do love and miss my brother but it's hard on our family when a loved one can't behave in a moment of a good time turned uncontiously out of control. Yes, us Samoans and or Polynesians have that strength, but I prefer my people to be looked at more positively rather than being tough. There's more to a lot of us than physical strength. God, family, and education is the goal. Especially heart.
This big ass fijian dude smashed an actual boxer outside of a club one night in las vegas.
Never go full-Haku strength.
Former wrestler and musician Jerry Only from the Misfits said that in Japan they put their Karate champ in the ring to fight Meng since they refused to believe that wrestlers could beat Karate practitioners. But Meng broke the guy's skull with one blow and the fight ended right there. In the same interview, he also spoke about how Vampiro told him stories of Meng climbing up coconut trees on beaches to pluck coconuts and then smashing them open with his hands so that the other wrestlers could eat them.
well.....any line that starts with "Vampiro told him..." is an automatic red flag. Vampiro is internationally known as a Brothers Grimm level storyteller of 100% tall tales. I believe most stories about Haku, but I would believe nothing that Vampiro says
The Barbarian gets crazy on the sauce too.
Is haku in the hall of fame? That dude needs to be there. Legend 💯 also I would like to see tama tonga call out reigns at the hall of fame lol
They need to make it happen.
Where's the hall of fame?
First of Stevie Ray's interviews I've listened to. He's a great storyteller. Very engaging and funny.
Man it's good to see stevie ray doing well and looking great... Ain't seen him since Harlem Heat
Stevie Ray is a great storyteller. This shit had me dying lmao.
Stevie: "This was a town of American Indians.. Native Americans actually"
idk why but that cracked me up😂
I assume he believes that the white man's historical error in naming Native Americans as Indo-Asian Indians from the Indus valley is racist
Well yeah, how many native americans have you ever seen in real life?.. so imagine seeing a whole town full
I’ve actually dated a Native American woman,,, she wasn’t some “quarter Cherokee” wannabe,,,She had the tribal card and everything.. I met her in a bar on Vakay in Florida,, we were from the same state… Michigan.. which has a large Native population we have Tribal casinos throughout the state…
@joshr8666 I've seen a bunch and not just a town full, try a whole county full. I live an hour from Cherokee County North Carolina, which is like the Mecca for Cherokee Natives.
@Jrh-rp7np Same here in NC, we are the only county other than Cherokee that has a Casino in North Carolina. Lots of tribal lands around.
Cant get enough of these stories with Stevie Ray. I remember watchin him when I was a teenager and always thought "dam this guy could kill some1" keep the stories coming bro
I don't even want to think about how many Bureau of Prisons employees would die if Haku ever went down for something lol
“If that’s what you wanna call it!!!”
😆
I love stevie's commentary on Thunder "Choke that yak out!"
Haku was a bad ass
there is similar hold that the Marines used to teach (Marine version is one hand to the side). It's not a choke it's just a really painful nerve hold. If you get under the jaw and press upward it's a legit pressure point. If a dude that big knew how to sink it in it would hurt bad enough where you wouldn't be able to knock him away easily.
Haku on the streets/ inside a cage would destroy Brock so bad that Brock would cry running to the entrance , begging his bald head boss to open it , only for Haku to drag that idiot inside and beat him to a pulp, simple different type of hardness , pure natural 300lbs Tongan . Kurt Angle would get his as well for talking out his ass. Haku trained in Sumo would not be easy to take down.
yeah cause biting the fuckers fingers off is impossible. Stupid nerds.
Talking Fuckery about a pure hard guy , will not be talking at all with your mouth wired shut .
Huh wha?
I wouldn't mind sitting back with Stevie Ray and shooting the breeze
I could listen to Stevie Ray's stories for hours
There's a recent video on CZcams where Arn Anderson describes an incident where he saw Haku pick up a large cowboy 2 feet off the ground with one arm using the Tongan death grip and throw him through a door knocking him out cold
stevie ray has me crackin up lmaoo
That was a wicked story. Stevie Ray is all class.
There's an interview with Sonny Onoo saying if Haku would last against Brock Lesnar. Sonny says the only chance an MMA fighter would have a chance against Haku is if they had sharp weapons. Sonny is a world class martial artist and professional fighter. Haku would split Brock in 2.
Lmao youre like a kid who beleives in fantasy stories 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
By now every single wrestler who has been asked the Brock vs Haku question has said that Brock has no chance
Stevie Ray is an amazing story teller.
I never really followed Haku, but by all accounts, he and Ravishing Rick Rude are the two wrestlers most often cited as genuinely badass.

I like Stevie Ray’s voice. Chill af.
Stevie Ray is one of the best there was, and a true GOAT 🐐 in the wrestling world 🌎 👏, thanks 😊 👍 🙏 🎉🎉🎉
Meng, the face of fear. Nuff said.
Jerry Only said in a recent shoot interview which is available on CZcams that Meng broke the skull of Japan's karate champion with one blow
I’ve watched a lot of these interviews and Stevie Ray has some of the best stories
Stevie Ray is a great story teller
Nice to see and hear from Stevie Ray, a wrestler from the days when wrestling was actually good. Harlem Heat 4eva!

jack deez supposedly he also tore someone's eye out.
He stuck his finger up someone's ass too
