- Hi! I'm Quin and have been living in my van FULL-TIME w/ my 2 CATS, Atlas and Otto, for the last THREE YEARS (Feb 2021!)
After working for seven years in a corporate position as a marketing director and event producer for a magazine, I decided to leave my position, take a risk and jump into #solofemalevanlife w/ my two cats.
This is my SECOND RIG built for FOUR SEASONS and TWO CATS!
When I first started van life, I thought it was just going to be a temporary thing. But after my first year, I loved it so much, that I knew I wanted to do it for years to come.
So, I decided to sell my first rig and get a new one built based on everything I learned from my first rig.
This van is a 2022 Ford Transit 250 AWD.
In this video, I will show you my cute little cat mobile equipped with:
• a litterbox for 2 cats w/ vent fan
• composting toilet
• A tri-part pocket door
• Electrical box
• 500 amp hour batteries
• 450 watt solar panels
• Van Extenders for Sleeping
• rooftop deck
• hidden desk
• Pull-out futon
• Full kitchen setup & fridge
• Outdoor shower & plumbing system
• heater for WINTER van life
• adventure garage for snowboarding, climbing etc.
• special windows
• fans to keep the cats nice and cool
& more!!!
LMK if you have any questions! Thank you for following our #vanlife journey :)

Two cats is true wealth, but you are never solo with even one cat.
Im sorry for your loss. ❤
Love your build. You really built from experience.
My rescue baby died of Cancer only 2 years after adoption. So sorry for your loss! Mine had Vaccine-related Cancer. 1 in 10,000 Cats will contract it so the internet says. Get their vaccines in their leg area only!! This way if they contact the cancer they amputate kitties leg and kitty has a much better rate of survival than my baby did that had hers in her flank area where all her vital organs were. I choose to celebrate the amazing 2 years I had her by sharing her story & hopefully keep other kitties from the same sad ending.
Great advice! I hope this comment gets so many more upvotes
@@consciouschaostarot thank you!!
Thanks so much. Am sorry for your loss😢
@@summerstardust2064 thanks
I'm so sorry about the loss of your pet. :( My dog died years prematurely from Lymenaphritis (kidney failiure) which is caused by a lyme vaccine as per my vet. I'm in the health field and can tell you it's much more common than 1 in 10,000. Many diseases are caused by the very toxic mercury, aluminum, formaldehyde, other neurotoxins in them as well as infections/microbes that are simply not supposed to be injected into any being. Vaccines get so promoted by big pharma for humans and pets - a multi trillion dollar business. The truth about the health hazards of them gets suppressed. Most vets and doctors don't even take the time to research this from sources that are not from big pharma. Think twice before getting any vaccine/flu shot and do some solid research for the facts. What's even worse than death is being sick and suffering for years with a horrible illness.
Rest in peace sweet cat 🖤
For a second I thought from the title that Quin had gotten a new sibling for Atlas to keep him company! It would be very difficult to introduce them to each other slow in such a small space, though
I have hope! Honestly, Atlas is SUCH a loving cat who is curious about all animals... that I am really curious what he would do. Everyday, I feel closer and closer to getting another friend for him :)
@@QuinGable I hope this encourages you. When I adopted my second cat, I spent the night awake while I heard them begging to play with each other. (my first cat was locked in my room with me). At 5am I finally opened the door and I fell into the most peaceful sleep hearing them play and enjoying getting to know each other. From that moment on, they were inseparable until last April when one of them died. It was completely devastating, but we adopted another cat right away, and same thing, love at almost first sight between the two cats again.
She's not a genius darling she loves what she does, and it shows, when you love what you do you are the best at it!
My condolences on your loss, he was so young too.
I loved your tour Quin! Great to see you and Atlas looking well. Hope you keep healing and getting stronger everyday. Good to have you back. Blessings from a sunny QLD Australia!
Thanks Quin & Atlas for the van tour!😊❤️
Finally, someone with the sliding wall! I was worried it maybe wasn't possible because I hadn't seen anyone do it. It is vital for my design!
Sadly so many of our pets are dying from cancer at an alarming rate.
Really cool how your cat loves the traveling. Your van is beautiful.
Unfortunately, cats are prone to cancers, especially cancers of the mouth, jaw and nose. Lost my fur-baby to cancer of the tongue. ❤️🩹💔
you have great charisma for being filmed !
So sorry about the loss of your kitty
Hi, Atlas!!!!🎉
Just found your channel and binge watched everything! 😂 It's so hard letting our fur babies go 😢 we only get them for such a short time 😞 just know you shared a world he'd never have known with him, kept him from suffering and now he's watching over you two 😻 what is that fancy water bottle you have for Atlas?? You're an inspiration for all! Rock on! 🤘 Hope we cross paths! 🤞 Stay safe and happy trails! ✌️
Aww! Poor baby. Rest Well in the rainbow 🌈 bridge
That is the sweetest van setup that I have ever seen. As she said a bigger water tank would be better. SphereMotor, the future electricity
Fabulous build. Beautiful cat and lovely young lady. Thanks for the tour. Blessings and Happy Trails to you.😊❤
Incredible. Wow. Amazing build. Amazing life for you and your kitty. Good for you!
Sometimes having a variety of clothes really can make life so much more fun though ❤️
Hope you and Atlas have many more fun adventures together
Beautiful build
Most informative! And impressive attention to detail by both you and the van designer. Thank you for the effort you put into this video!
Also Atlas is so cute 😊!
wonderful motorhome, and very well explained, successes in everything
Awesome set up … new subscriber… I m a cat lover myself 😻 my deepest sympathies on the loss of cat. I really enjoyed . Peace, joy and always be safe. 😊
we love love love your build! 🫶🏼
Hi Quin! Love the tour. ❤
Great setup! Very useful and functional to your needs! 😊
I love you girl and I mean that in a way and a motherly way, you are not afraid to go in an adventure and I admire that of you and thank you for sharing your wonderful videos I'm a cat person actually I'm an animal person but I just happened to have five cats and one dog and we all get how long and I admire you for experimenting and not being an adventure person without being afraid of anything so God bless you girl and God will take good care of you anywhere you go!!
Brilliant build. Re: the heater. Check out General Components in BC Canada. I'm glad to see you and Atlas doing so well.
Interesting that she's swabbing known quality heaters for a Chinese heater. I wonder if failures were due to improper installation.
Damn girl! You put some major money into your van build! 😮😮
Lovely van. Ever thought of doing a pop up extension on the room. I'm talking like an open hatch with extended ladder going up to a area that's about 4 feet in height. But can collapse down to about 2 feet or so. When you are driving. You can move your bed up to the roof and sleep up there. Which in turn would give you more area to utilize for your things. You can have windows on all sides. The kind that no one can see in, but you can see out. Which in turn would give you more privacy. Then the spot where you have your bed now. You can make a little bigger office space. more cabinets for your clothes! etc etc
sorry.... tend to imagine certain designs for things in my head. Your video just happen to be the latest thing to draw in my brain. Stay safe out there!
Living in a van down by the river!
Love your van- glad you’re back on the road and filming 🖤
A cat lady, like me. Love your portable home.
You can replace your Autoterm controller with a model with a thermostat function. Starts and stops itself, with a temperature difference of about 5°C.
What a very well thought out van build
The fact that you have to mentions its your money is both very funny and sad 😹💚
New subscriber here! Love your van and i would so love to do this!!! Love that you have Atlas , sorry for your loss I am sure Otto is still there with you in spirit!! Look forward to following you and seeing your adventures.
Nice build ❤
I love your van. But I gotta say in my own I would definitely do an induction 2 burner stove top. Butane is dangerous. For myself I would build a shower, to burner induction burner, and oven.
If you can get them used to the breeze litter box system it will help even more w smell!!!!
People my opinion. Vancubic made in Spain van inserts contain two doors for side of the van and the back. When back doors of van are open there's a large window and slider door. Safety for ladies. I want this.
So sorry for your loss…
You are such a inspiration for me love all of your videos ❤❤ thanks for sharing the ups and downs of van life
Love your newest van build Quin!
Moo man 😻
Thank you for have a Look in your nice van. There many interessting things and ideas for my van. It‘s large because it is an old Travelbus.
Excellent van tour. Thank you, happy travelling. 🤩😃
Someone like her tells me get in the van... I'm going 😂
First time on your channel and I really love your van build! It's homey, but, light and streamlined and clean looking.
I'm in love. With the cat.
Atlas did a great Vanna White imitation. Really cute. I love the litterbox, too. I travel fulltime with 4 kitties. Thanks for sharing. Happy trails.
Thanks for sharing!
Love you guys!! ❤
Beautiful build!!! Cozy, comfy, cute!! 😊💕
Very impressive.
Amazing video as usual. Really enjoyed it and seeing all the van intricacies. I'm looking at camper shells for my toyota tacoma to possibly travel/work.
Great build!
I love how you made space for your two kitties. I have two kitties and would love to travel with them!
So glad to see you're back and that Atlas seems stoked to be back on the road! So many great new features on this build, thank you for the thorough tour and wow, just LOVE that it was women-built!! You didn't mention budget though, and I wonder if you could speak to that in your next vid--basic costs plus all the cool features? Thanks!
Hey Quinn 🤗. Ron/Sweden
Hi Quin! Fellow Chicago gal here! I've been craving getting into van life in some way, but I don't think I'd want to do it long term, maybe just 6 months-1 year. Do you have any tips on how someone could try out van life in a way that feels personal but still sustainable if I decided to go back to city living after?
Awesome!! I am a solo female and I am having my van build in June. I wish I had you on my shoulder lol!!
I am currently downsizing which is way tougher than I expected. Would love to know about specific safety tips and items. Do you have an oven of any kind? Looking to install the Brava. So many things tonsay wish there was a forum it someway to chat. Do you have Starlink? You didn’t get into that or locks or cameras, how aboutbthe film that stops glass breaking and when you leave your fur baby for the day, how do you do that with securing the van and having it be proper temp? Do you have heated floors? Do you have an awning? Did you get a lift for the van? What wb is your van? Your rec on camera gear?? I could ask all day lol!! Thank you for doing this video!!
With cat litter box, be careful with moisture & Mold.
Loved this van tour! I also plan to work from my van and travel with my animals so super helpful for me. Will also check out Dame Van Co.
nice!
My hope is that you changed your Cat's Diet ie Real & Healthy Food.❤
❤
Looks like Atlas is wearing a tracking collar. Any recommendations on what has worked best for you? I'm planning on weekend traveling with one kitty. Thanks for the tour.
I think we crossed paths at the Vons gas station in Nipomo California
Hi Quin, thank you for all the great information :) Do you worry about your cats when you let them out or did you do any training methods to make sure you could get them back in when you needed them back in? Thanks in advance for any thoughts :)
Wow! 3yrs old died d/t Cancer... geez thats so horrible. 😢
Great video, thank you for the inspo. It would still be nice to know the fridge brand though. Otherwise we don't know what to avoid 😅
Oh my gosh so sorry! Yes that would be helpful! So I’ve gone through two of them, and in the summer they have a horrible ice build up problem that causes the fridge to not work and shut off. In the summer or hot weather, I have to defrost it once a week for it to work. It’s AWFUL. It’s called: Vitrifrigo C85IBD4-F-2 RV Electric Refrigerator Freezer Black- AC/DC - 3.2 CF. I’ve heard good things about the brand but NOT this fridge.
@@QuinGable wow, thank you so much for the quick reply 😊😊 Please say hi to Atlas from me and my two kitties Komma and Rosa
Beautiful 😍 How much did the entire process and build cost?
Did you cover up your front seat airbags when you installed your headliner shelf storage? I have a 2023 transit trail and the airbags are part of the headliner area.
Great tour vid!! Thanks! Do you have a full or small mirror somewhere in your van? Where would you recommend putting one?
Love the van! Any info that you can provide on the triple door to close off the cab? TY!
Could you make a long video about training your cats to be van boys! I have two cats and have no idea how I would make the apartment to van transition !
And never looked back
I treated myself to a sprinter 170 high top 4 by 4 at the end of 2022 the fans are in the bunk windows are in the framing is done the solar is done and I'm just about to put a partial wall behind the driver's seat the rest of it I'm going to use insulated curtains that I will make myself😮 I cannot bring myself to put in the over headliner storage😮 having to stoop over into twist yourself into the driver's seat from a bent-over position over and over and over and over again just does not seem appealing to me😮 I did see a lady who made her own velcro netting in various sizes that she velcro to the headliner above her😮 she leaves them in place and just puts packing cubes in and out of them so they're not being removed constantly😮 I'm about ready to close that area back in but more than anything I want to be able to insulate over the cab I want to put up foil paper foil reflectix foil anything but I'm too cheap to pay the van build out guy cuz he wants to charge me for like over 2 hours and it's like I've seen it done you can remove it in a matter of minutes and all I want to do is put up some reflectix maybe a little bit of insulation and put it right back😮 but I'm too chicken to do it myself but you got to disconnect the electrical stuff and yes the airbag stuff is along the edges😮 I too am reducing the house and getting ready to put it up for rent as I hit the road😮 I certainly have been spoiled living in West Central Montana and I don't know what I'm going to do when I get back east and want to know where my BLM and National Forest is😂😂😂
kibble! hope that's emergency food and not daily meals. you've a well-paid job, nice van, lots of nice things for yourself, please feed beautiful Atlas good healthy food, not kibble.
Great job! Out of curiosity - how much would a van like yours cost? If you were to sell! Thank u!!
We have 2 cats we travel with and I never let them out of the RV. (My RV is a lot bigger than your’s.) How do you keep your cat from wandering and, if he does, does he go far? or come back when called?
Could I please have more info on your partition wall/door?
OK question! I know in Montana bugs are BIG and I was wondering if it is worth it to add bug curtains (Magnetic) into the van?
Are you not worried about your car just making a break for it? That would be my primary fear.
Where did you get the opening rear door window. Thanks 😊😊
nice van, I`m just wondering why with all that solar power and battery capability you go to wallyworld and get a $20.00 ceramic heater, it has 3 settings and the max is 1500 watts, so easy to convert to 12volt?
Was your cat indoor or indoor/outdoor before you started van life? I want to do this as I was a travel nurse for many years and I miss the travel part of that. My cat has always been an indoor cat. So, did your kitty run away the first time when you let him out? Was he indoor only etc….Just trying to find out how to acclimate my cat to van life and knowing if he is going to be able to adapt.
Kick SSA!
Do you have a different mattress that you would recommend that is not latex for latex allergies?
Are you going to get a new kitty?
And a dog... 😁
What do your hat/sweatshirt hooks hook onto? I don't see a link for anything
Mirror
20:40 what if youte allergic to latex? Any recommendations?
😂😂😂😂
Blue cheese
You built this?
Wheres the glock and electricief razor wire and red ominous wall phone?
i always find having to take everything off the area to access the toilet problematic like what do you do when u really have to pee or u have an emergency at night i would set it up in toilet mode every night to minimize the chance of emergencies I always laugh at women under 40 going yeah i almost don't need a bathroom in the rig like nah sis you will see what I mean after 40 lol just speaking generally
A continent built around getting around on a car. Then expensive rent and housing and land tax pushed people living in a car. And now fuel prices and fuel deficit will mean people won't be able to drive in a car, they will have it stationary most of the time and they will have to rebuild the continent walk friendly.
I know this all male company that worked on my motorhome and they did a amazing job..
