With the Launch of the PS5, Sony has invested in Haptic feedback technology from Immersion Corporation, the same company Nintendo partnered with on the haptic feedback technology for the Nintendo Switch Joy Cons and Pro Controller. With Sony all in on advance haptic technology, we only need Microsoft to adopt the same tech so that it can be standardized in gaming similar to how techs such as the analog stick, rumble, wireless controllers, motion controls, triggers buttons, and share buttons are adopted across the board by the top 3 console manufacturers.
If XBOX decides to advance their next iteration of controllers such as their next Elite 3 controller and current XBOX Series controllers to include Haptic feedback and gyros, we can see cost lower for the technology due to higher adoption rates.
We know that the next revision/successor to the Switch will most like continue the path of advanced haptic motors and feedbacks and only Microsoft will be the last company standing to adopt such a great feature to enhance immersion in games. Microsoft can make it more standard for 3rd party developers to accept haptic control features.
