Sky Sports News understands Nottingham Forest did not ask for VAR official Stuart Attwell to be removed despite a club statement complaining about Attwell being a Luton fan after a series of appeals for penalties by the away side were turned down.
Forest were waved away on three separate occasions by match referee Anthony Taylor with the on-field decisions endorsed by Attwell in the VAR hub.

They never claimed to have asked for him to be removed - they warned the PGMOL about the situation. Talk about gaslighting
That is exactly what this guy said within 08 seconds of the video starting. But they did make a statement warning that he was a Luton fan. Hey, I'm a Luton fan, but I have never allowed that to cloud my judgement in matters of the law. What's right is right.

So NFO never said they asked, yet PGMOL and Sky want to clarify NFO didn't ask and if they had asked they'd have been told to kick rocks.
The PGMOL & the FA are the ones bringing the game into disrepute... If you assign competent officials, or at least hold incompetent ones accountable for shocking calls, there won't be many complaints that may "bring the game into disrepute"

I'm an Evertonian and I have to be honest about it. In my honest opinion Forest should have been awarded 3 penalties!. I'm obviously pleased that Everton won the game however in my personal opinion we were incredibly fortunate not to have conceded those 3 penalties!. If that were against Everton I would be fuming!. So I do fully understand why Forest feel aggrieved. 🏐🤔⚽

This is where I think NNFC shot themselves in the foot in this whole situation. If you simply warned of a potential conflict of interest by the VAR but never asked for him to be replaced, then the PGMOL is under no obligation to change out the VAR.
I’m also courteous as to when NNFC warned the PGMOL. If the warning came in the hour or so leading up to kickoff, then there is absolutely no way of avoiding Mr. Atwell being involved in officiating the match in some capacity.

Well u can look at it from another point of view. If firstly they requested he be changed because he is a lutton fan, then they can actually be charged with insinuating the integrity of the officials. They would need to prove he is a lutton fan which i don’t even know how that would work and stand trial. Secondly even if they did that, chances are they would get rejected as the video discusses because the committee has no obligation to change pgmol officials according to the personal preferences of the clubs

100% agree - it's sewn up US style to keep the money flowing to a set of people that are used to keeping it for themselves!
