- [ 0:35 coin collection, 4:43 picking tools and demo, 10:53 real world picking ] Shopping cart coin deposit locks are a lot of fun. In this video I present two simple tools that allow picking coins out of shopping carts. These tools are easy to make and use. In the course of approximately half a year I collected 154 coins and tokens. Of course I only retrieved coins from abandoned shopping carts or from such where people left behind the coin after use. Beside of the tools and my coin treasure I show some real-world examples of retrieving left-behind coins. Have fun and stay legal.

Genial 😂 👍👏
Great video! We don't have those coin carts around here, but it's fun to see all the different mechanisms and exploits in the wild. 😁👍
Thanks for stopping by. Interesting to see where they have introduced these carts with the coin locks and where not.

I have many different tokens from many years of collecting. good to see some of the locks still can take both DM and €.
Haha, they will not change the locks until they break. So we will read DM for a long time.

I spotted the 50 pence straight away :)). My fave is also the Audi coin. Thanks for sharing Potti and take care mate.
Haha, yeah the queen sticks out ;-) The Audi coin was one of my latest catches, pretty cool; sadly I forgot to show the TÜV coin (you know what I mean with TÜV?).
@@Potti314 Is it a certification, kind of like a BS(British Standard).

There are only one or two stores near me that have the cart lock. It is not very common. I don't see it often. This was very interesting.
Thanks for stopping by - glad you enjoyed watching. We also have supermarkets with cart without coin deposit locks - I try t avoid them ;-)

I have 395 cart tokens.
In July, I made a hook to put it in a Systec brand token locker.
I put the hook in the cart which was alone and took a token.
And it worked !
This hook, I call it the Systec Pass.
(Sorry if there was a mistake in this comment because I am French.)
Cool, that's a lot of coins :-)
Do you have lidl token?...and if you have how did you get it?
By the way i'm collecting these tokens as a hoby. Bye!
What a great collection, great picking tip, hope you are keeping well?
Thank you - all is fine here. Hope you're doing well, too.

FYI, via reverse image search with Google, I found the "token" at 3:32 on an old "China Foundation for Disabled Persons" website (old.cfdp.org.cn/). I couldn't find it on their recent website. Hunting around some more, I found that it seems to be the logo of the "World Children's Fund" (worldchildrensfund.org/). Their "About us --> WCF Founder Joseph Lam" page describes how this charity was started by the named Hong Kong resident in 1993. Makes me wonder why the "China Foundation for Disabled Persons" dropped the logo. Something to do with the Hong Kong troubles?
Very interesting - thanks for your investigations.
Does the Euro-Coin-Sized-Side work also? I mean putting this End in cart to release a cart for shopping instead of a Coin?🤓
Yes, it does work.
@@Potti314 Yeah, tested it myself with the Lidl carts. Works like a charm.
Cool collection, using a token to get a shopping cart is not common where I live. I can only think of one store that uses that system.
Thanks for stopping by. Not a long time ago I hated to use these carts with the coins. But after I learned to pick them, I prefer these shops ;-)

A Metal kitchen folk with two inside fingers cut off works better than he little chopsticks and can be carried in a pocket mate ;o))))
Haha, carrying a fork in the pocket does not seem like a comfortable thing to do ;-)
@@Potti314 Cut handle right down, drill a hole in the top part of it... and job done as can go on a key ring ;o))))

Forint is not old, it's current currency.
