      War should be the very last solution, but you can defeat evil by "evil". For example, let's say a terrorist group abducts some people. The first reaction is to warn the terrorist group if they do to set the people free they will be attacked. If you say we cant defeat violence by violence we have to just plead with this terrorist group to open up their hearts and see what they're doing is wrong and hopefully, they will change their mind, let's say which will never happen. And let's say we try to bargain and that doesn't workout. So we sit back and watch the people kidnapped suffer, NO we don't we go there and fight with violence until the people are saved. This is a heroic act and completely justifiable.

    • @madusy6943
      @madusy6943 Před 3 lety +1

      @@zadarxyirwasaw2487 Thanks For bringing this perspective on focus. I totally agree with you on this. Such an act could also serve as deterrence for any future terrorist act by criminals. But diplomacy should always be given chance in any conflict and peaceful resolution endeavours could be utilized and if that fails then the aggressor must pay. That doesn't negate the fact that two wrongs cannot make a right or that an eye for an eye would would give us two eye sights. All people have two eyes but not the same views. The world wont be destroyed by evil doers except that we watch and do nothing.

    • @ChaosPod
      @ChaosPod Před 3 lety +4

      "You cannot defeat evil by evil" is meant for your own personal life, not for governments protecting their citizens from evil people. Even in the Bible, the nation of Israel went to war with other countries that attacked them. It shows back in 1956 students were taught the Bible, something that rarely happens now.

      She did sound ridiculous. But the Poor innocent girl didn’t understand that the Bible says there is a time for peace and a time for war. And that Jesus was not speaking to nations when he said turn the other cheek. He was speaking to individual Christians who were representing Him and His message. You can’t convert someone to Jesus if you act like the world. But governments are not responsible for converting anyone to Christ. They are responsible for protecting it’s citizens from evil.

    It's been mentioned in these comments about how the interviewer failed to respond to the Ethiopian boy when he referred to his uncle's death in the war. I think that she's a bit impolite in general. She also cut off the British student rather abruptly (at around 7:40). I think that this interviewer simply isn't very professional. She must be a bureaucrat with the organization sponsoring the student exchange, rather than a professional media person. Her interviewing style is a bit rough around the edges.

      I’ve found in a lot of these that I end up annoyed when the question inevitably gets turned back to America and their opinions of America. Of course, this program was hosted in the US and was televised in the US, but as the whole point seemed to be to bring young people from across the world together, constantly talking about the US and Americanism isn’t necessary. There was basically one section of speeches from the 1955 delegates that was just digging for compliments about the US for half an hour

    When the girl from Australia talks, her words are most effective. It’s the way she speaks and how she really emphasizes her words. I noticed that more than the others. Also she appears to be bearing down on everyone else when she speaks, so you can really pay attention to her. Also, she doesn’t back down, she continues what she says even when there are voices of objection. Just an observation.
