That turned out beautifully! Do you find washing with a purple shampoo fades the toner out? I was always told purple shampoo opens the cuticle, letting the toner escape. I could be misinformed.

The nape! It’s little things stylist over look, especially when we’re running around like chickens without a head. I’m soooo impressed you mentioned that. During summer we put our hair up and it’s awful when you see that area without toner. 😘👍

Hello! I recently dyed my hair ombré and I just saw your video about leave in conditioners and was wondering if the ‘Its a 10 leave in with keratin’ is still something you recommend! Also, I shouldn’t be using purple shampoo and conditioner everytime I wash my hair correct? I have been using the Tressame shampoo for the days I don’t use purple shampoo but you mentioned drug store shampoo for your colored hair might not be the best care. What shampoos do you recommend on days I don’t use purple? Thank you!

Great work and videos. I don’t know why people have issues with masks. As a colorist we are required not only to wear masks but also a shield from the state. Clients and we feel feel more secure by having that barrier between us despite that it’s not the most comfortable thing to wear. All clients are mandated to wear masks as well. It’s great that you are doing the responsible thing. Don’t listen to haters.

One question, does this toner color the black part or just the bleached part? I have been having trouble finding a toner that only colors my bleached parts. I used the Wella toner and put it all over my head because when having highlights in hair its hard just to get it on highlighted part so my black hairs got colored to which I don't want.

I got my first balayage and it’s only been a around 5 days and my hair is already brassy/orange near the roots. It’s no longer icy and I have no clue what to do. I have originally really dark brown Asian hair, and I have tried blue shampoo but it didn’t work and it still the same It looks terrible than what it originally was on the first day when I had more of an cool tone ash blonde color. What should I do?

Thank you Ashley I’m loving your videos. I’m a new stylist so I’m learning i just purchased the blond me lightner and tried it on my sister, but left her with a lot of warmth. I toned her with pravana but left her to ashy(green)😩Having trouble toning still i really wanna try the redken shades eq
Do redken! You can always go on their page and look at their formulas but LEARN their line, you can look at their color chart to see the pigment it has in each shade. I would recommend to use a creamy Demi for root shadowing for more coverage. You could use Pravana or Matrix for their Demi’s

I feel most of the blue shampoos I have used - really grab my hair and I have barely left it on for a minute because I do not like the lilac color.... what am I doing wrong. I have even just added it to shampoo to dilute it more.

Hi, if my client has a full head of orange lightened hair (just lightener experiment she decided to do, no colour) and I do a balayage (life her up to a level 9). Can I put the toner on the orange hair that is left out or do I have to do lowlights on the left over strand from the weaving to create dimension? She wants a caramel light brown balayage
Jasleen Singh hi that’s a great question so I would do a balayage on her I wouldn’t get the hair that late especially if you’re just trying to do a Caramell balayage maybe just about a level eight or seven... now with the hair that you left out out of the foils I would say maybe go in with a Demi permanent color and cover that up you can go in with a toner but a toner is not going to last long it’s going to eventually fade! Hope this helps
I find that using the purple shampoo seems to cling to my hair and it looks purple, why is that?? i only leave it on for a couple of minutes

I've used shades eq for 1st time today . Were in the uk . I did a root smudge of 7n and 7p. Then toned ends with 10ml 9v ,10ml 9p and 10ml of clear and 30ml of processing solution But the consistency was different in the ends colour then in the root smudge. It felt more like a gel rather than liquid . Is that normal . Thanks
The CLEAR gives a more gel-like consistency

Gorgeous color! I'm a hairstylist and I always shampoo first (usually a purple shampoo) as a pre toner and then tone the hair if needed, then add conditioner. Is there a reason you shampoo after applying the toner?

Did you apply Olaplex #2 then the toner? Doesn’t Olaplex say to tone shampoo apply number 2 shampoo again? I thought it said it on the bottle and when we got certified also?
Btw, this was meant as a question, I’m trying to learn lol! Beautiful job! I like the idea of putting the number 2 on before toner, you can have it on while getting the toner ready etc. do you like the regular shades processing solution or the thicker processing solution. I have both and I’m always trying to figure out which scenario to use them

What were the measurements for the toners and developer?

Shades eq developer is the equivalent of a 7 volume.
@@carlosnetro1 Thanks for this info C N, is a 7 volume 1.9%? I only use 6% which is a 20 volume and for me it is quite strong on my scalp would this 7 volume be more comfortable for a sensitive scalp? thanks Jo
