      Thank you for your comment. I hope you have enjoyed your visit with us. The Nikon F2 is an amazing camera, perhaps, the best all time camera. I have to take mine out of the closet and shoot more with them. Happy shooting.

      Thank you. I don't have free time now and frankly, not really in the mood for it right now. I got fed up of being regularly insulted by people who know nothing about photography and are all about the "influencers", something that I'm not. Cheers!

    Tenho uma FA há mais de 10 anos e ainda não tirei uma foto com ela. Decidi dar-lhe uso e encontrei um problema: não coneguia abrir a tampa para colocar o rolo.... Agora já sei! :) muito obrigado pela review.

      It is, fortunately the chances of it correcting the exposure in sunny locations are very slim!

    Agree with Pedro: "One of the most underrated cameras of all time." However mine has a broken shutter sync and will cost $130 to repair. I still like it though.

      @paulomoreira007  Před 10 lety +1

      Sorry to hear that. However, for me that fault would be ok, as I never use flash, come to think about it, I don't even know if mine synchs correctly or not, like in all my cameras. :)

    Please do NOT attempt to mount a Non-AI lens! It will not clear the aperture sensing lever! Only a F4,with the retractable,is capable of this! The other major problem with the FA is fill flash,but the trick here is to use a PC trigger for the flash as the FA does not know there is a flash,so you still have matrix metering and any aperture you set for DOF! Gotta out think it's tiny silicon brain! Of all my 4 Nikon film bodies,this is the most used for subjects that are in a range that can be quickly focused with a MF lens! This bitta kit is simply Bloody Blinding Brilliant!!

    • @paulomoreira007
      @paulomoreira007  Před 9 lety +1

      William Power Thank you for your comment. The cameras where you can use non AI lenses safely are the FM, FE, F3 and 4 (and the Nikkormat FT3), they all have that safety lever unlock. However, the length of the bottom part of non AI lens seems to vary a bit, perhaps due to wear, perhaps due to manufacturing tolerances. The lens you see in the video does not touch the sensing lever neither do some of my other non AI lenses, one just has to be careful and check it first. I have no idea about the flash system as I don't even own a flash gun because I hate flash photography.

      If you examine the mount of an AI,there is a recess that tells the the FA ! This IS precision!! Believe me,I also have FTN with a f1.8 bought in the bazaar in Suva Fiji,on my way to OZ circa '71,due to PET! The lens is MINT,can NOT mount!

    • @paulomoreira007
      @paulomoreira007  Před 9 lety +2

      William Power You have misunderstood, I wasn't refering to AI lenses but to non AI lenses. I will make a video demonstrating what I am refering to. The Nikkormat FTN accepts non AI lenses, the FT3 is like the FM, it takes both types.

    If anyone knows how to open the back film gate without the pin can you please lemme know. Like the crank fell off and the pin you pull up to open it fell inside the camera.. Pretty sure I'm screwed

    • @MrOnegesius
      @MrOnegesius Před 8 lety +1

      Send it to a camera repairman (if you want to keep the camera) or pry open the back with a screwdriver if you only want the film and not the camera (do this in a dark room if you cannot rewind the film). I think the first option is the best and will keep you in possession of a working Nikon FA. I had one, an FA, and loved it. My current film camera is a Nikon F4, otherwise the FA would be on my short list.

  • @fenkemeijer73
    @fenkemeijer73 Před rokem +1

    You're not completely rational about the override. If you choose shutter priority you've already decided - and informed the camera - that you want it to determine the exposure. And ultimately that is what it does. It will try to follow your shutter time, but if there is no way to accommodate that, it prevents you from a wasting film - there is nothing creative in a blank negative - and ruining it's reputation.

    Can I use my Nikkor AF 50mm lens for the Nikon FA body? :)
    Thank you so much in advance! This is a very helpful video, by the way. Thank you.

    • @paulomoreira007
      @paulomoreira007  Před 8 lety

      +disconfected Yes, you can use any AF lens with the FA, except the newer ones called the G series that don't feature an aperture ring. I don't have any of those lenses, but I think they may (?) work in program and shutter priority mode, but never in manual or aperture priority. You can mount the lens in the FA. there is absolutely no problem, even if it is G series one, it won't harm the camera.

      Thank you for your comment. However, you are mistaken about my video, it's not a video manual of the camera. If you wanna know more about the controls of the camera, then download the manual, just don't expect to have servants to do your work for you. Enjoy your FA.
