On December 13, 2023, Tapu Koko got in a car accident on Melemele Island Route 3, suffering from spinal injury and a spiral fracture in the left arm.
He is currently in the Hau'oli Red Cross Hospital. Prayers go out to his immediate family; his wife, Tapu Lele, his siblings Bulu and Fini, and his son, Pincurchin. His acquaintances, though too many to name, have also been devestated at this news.
May God be with the Surge family in this difficult time in their life.
I have returned to this video to weep. Pincurchin was denied rising voltage in the Teal Mask. Father Freak's favorite son Rillaboom gets grassy glide back, but this beautiful spiky child is shafted. Why must Pokémon hurt me so?

The first time I saw the secret trickroom video you posted I was confused why pincurchin was ZU, since its stats didn't look that bad. Then I checked again and realized that it had 48 hp. I guess I just assumed it had base 100 or something to match the Mythical Pokemon status it clearly deserves

I’ve been running E-Terrain teams since Gen 7 with Alolan Raichu. It was pretty decent, actually, kept me floating in the 1700’s. I’m glad more people are using it. Can’t wait for Koko to come back.

Funnily enough, I made a gundam themed set with pincurchin and iron valiant with booster energy and mementod in iron valiant with quark speed up, used swords dance and when the terrain expired it would change to quark attack up. It was pretty funny

I've basically only been running Electric Terrain teams in OU since Gen 9 started, they're really fun. If they don't have any flying immunity, Choice Band Tera Ground EQ from Treads can just win you the game. On my current team, I run an almost max speed Iron Hands. I was sick of getting burned by Rotom so this outspeeds it and OHKOs it with T-punch in terrain at +2 from Swords Dance. It also outspeeds Great Tusk without speed investment or Dragapult after it's been paralyzed by Pincurchin or Nuzzle Hatterene.
Sure having to use Pincurchin instead of Koko means you're basically starting the game 5-6, but it's totally worth it imo. I just really wish Game Freak let it keep Rising Voltage as an exclusive move, or at the very least let it have a slow Volt Switch
Max speed iron hands sounds so fun. I tried using it with lum berry for rotom and skeledirge but I really missed the leftovers / boots. I want to use iron moth more too, agility can steal games. Super fun little archetype overall

I do think it's very funny that if you go down a tier to UU, the least outstanding of the future mons, Iron Thorns and Jugulis are all you're left with, but they are actually pretty good down there. Jugulis suffers from its juiciest button being Hurricane, since you're counting on a lot of 70s over the course of just a handful of games, but Life Orb or Specs with a speedboost are something that does not have a lot of answers. Iron Thorns is a lot of fun to use, even thought it's just like, kinda decent, but it definitely feels a lot weirder to use since T-Tar original fell to UU.
The best part of running electric terrain in UU is definitely Hawlucha tho. The other two do... something most of the time, I guess, but Hawlucha wins games basically on its own way more than it should.
Now my babyboi is now in RUBL :(
