1:22 the condition for the high damage for QW isn't low health or immobilized. It's immobilized/isolated enemies that take increased damage based on missing health. If you hit someone who is low but he is standing with minions inside the QW circle, the increased damage does not take effect. Similarly if you hit someone who is immobilized with QW and they are standing together with other units inside the QW circle, the increased damage will take effect.

Ok so I did some testing in practice tool. Apparently it's not true "isolation."
When using QW, isolation here means only hitting 1 person with the spell. You don't even have to cc someone to get the damage bonus, just simply hit only them with it. They can be right next to the wave and take the bonus damage if you make sure to only hit them and not the minions with the spell.
Not sure if that's a bug but the tooltip description is pretty misleading.

I wasn't correcting you either, I was simply giving information, not sure why you took it so personally.
Also not how isolation works when referencing khazix Q, so logically it doesn't make sense. A champ that is isolated is alone.
What makes the champ hard imo is that if his ult can only buffer commands and not cancel into movement or basic abilities. This means that to perfectly weave a combo with r you have to deliberately stop moving as any qwe inputs after r will be cancelled if you click to move or attack. You can go full ddr with the basic abilities pretty easily but literally one failed input after his r disorients everything.
I’d say it feels clunky but honestly it’s a pretty great limitation.
If you're struggling to remember the combos literally like QQ or EW etc. I would personally recommend memorizing them by color; Orange = high damage, Blue = buffs, Purple = fear/zoning.

this champ will be like ori and syndra ive been thinking, very highly contested control mage in pro play. he will be either pick or ban, can synergize with literally almost every champ and every comp so hes a perfect pick for pro play.
To be fair, I think the animation buffs for WW cast time and EW were needed but his damage is absolutely insane right now

@@remember7671 Aphelios can click on people to do dmg, not Hwei, he needs cc in order to do dmg so I think it's a good thing to make his ew more reliable
I think his dmg is perfectly fine, its not like when they released Asol rework
@@remember7671 if it doesnt catch slowed oponnent when its placed directly on its head then its kinda lame that u can only zone people for 3 seconds with it (+ it has really shit area so u cannot really zone with it anyway xD)

I think he is much better than people give him credit. I think its like any new champ and people just dont know how to play him yet. I also agree the burn feels good with liandrys and his qe ability. As a malz main I really like the burn from it.

If you gave invoker's abilities to Hwei, he will be broken because how league works.
Invis are broken in League because of lack of detection, deafening blast is game breaking and unfair for AA based champ, Cold Snap will be a trading monster skill in League

honestly i don't think he's overturned, i think he just gained some really NEEDED quality of life, just to make more consistent and less punishing his laning. Now, i do think think if they buff him more then it would be overturned.

The skin is a p2w. Your weapon wont turn red if you use q unlike the default. And his w and e are a little pale in color that you wont notice if he is hovering w or e.

Invoker is more complex, more epic, and more unique abilities. Hwei abilities are all basic mage shit.
yup, invo u need to press 5 times to get 1 skill, qqqr qwer qwwr etc and its skill button, and also the skills pool can be use anytime, and every skill has different cooldown @@lfc08adam but i also like hwei because of its simplicity
@@lfc08adamagree Hwei is not really comparable to Invoker.. Invoker for one has 10 spell CDs Hwei only has 3. If they nerfed Hwei damage, reduced his mana costs, and made all spells have a separate CD it would be more invoker-esque

Doesn't really matter, because you do the same thing regardless: dodge the circles.
@@StriderZessei Yeah but seeing what is queued up also helps you to anticipate whats coming. If he was just holding a W but you though it was a Q then you are needlessly waiting for an attack to come. Although all this is null if the Hwei player insta casts his spells instead of hovering.
He is a simplified Invoker, playing Invoker needs like 200 iq, never touched that hero.

Also depends on the skill floor. A mastered garen will not have the impact of a mastered riven in terms of looking broken.

The truth is, control mages are very hard to play against assassin meta's. It has nothing to do with hwei. Thats why there are only a few anivia players etc.

His passive, his ult, and his Q abilities.
Passive just rewards a bit of damage if you hit your spells. The passive is underwhelming though, only 20% ap scaling, and you can walk out of it if you have tier 2 boots or a dash. Useful to trade in laning phase though. Most of his damage in teamfight comes from qq when poking, and qw when chasing.
LoL was made because of DotA but I don't expect more from Midbeast anyways

I wouldnt say more complicated, his kit is very simple once you got a grasp on it. His abilities are very rudimentary. Aphelios is hard because there are alot of combos as well as preparation for fights with the ammunition management.
Shouldn't you not hover as it can make it predictable what you are going to do next? Better to get used to quick chaining the keys.

The skin isn't great but if you get the chromas its worth it. The event chroma is christmas color themed which is pretty cool and there's another couple good options in the RP chromas

Hwei is not that similar to invoker, invokers 10 spells dont share cooldown and they are much more varied in what they do.
But there are 3 keys and an ult with different orientations that give 10 different results. Doesn't have to be super similar, but in the scheme of each game it makes sense people would make a comparison
@@BamBam23467 Right but the games are so diffrent; invoker is both capable of being an adc and an apc at the same time, he has invis summons aoe CC aoe dmg global skillshots mana burn etc, while hwei just has 10 generic league spells.

Hwei is very deceiving since he looks slow and his abilities also look slow, but next thing you know you get hit by his abilities and get chunked

I honestly think champs like these are really bad for the game... I still don't get how aphelios works... it's just annoying... I don't wanna learn 10 more abilities in one go... on top of that the animations of Hwei are really unclear and frustrating to play against (although they look nice)
He's like a budget invoker. Invokers skill cap is a lot higher than this guy. I play league more than dota but I play both.
