Nope, Oracle Elixir was a thing. Plus you weren't limited on how many pink wards you could buy (can't remember if you could have several up on the map).

@@Waureiz I remember when I started playing years ago, you were able to buy two pink wards and that was all there was to reveal Shaco, Eve and Rengar. Only one was able to be placed at the time. And also oracle, yes. I think. I feel like it wasn't a thing but then again, I don't think there was ever a time where it wasn't, so I'm not sure.
@@northgambit Oracle Elixir was a 300 gold consumable if memory serves, made you have a pink eye above your champion. When they removed it from Summoner's Rift, it survived a bit longer in Aram. Couldn't tell you the years though.
@@northgambit i remember long long ago when you got tilted you went and played "warder" i sold everything bought mobi boots and bought 20 pink wards and 200 normal wards and i would ward the hole map. it was broken AF and we often won 4vs5 only cause of the vision

I dont think Pink Ward actually gets enough praise. He is literal IQ god with this champ and knows his abilities to a T. He knows exactly the range of his shaco clone ult to TP it right ontop of him when needed do burst someone down. Its truly a work of art.

The boxes are definitely broken. I dont think you need to remove the ap ratio, just make it like fiddle fear, that once you've been feared once, you cant get feared again for like 8-10 seconds. Also the ult cooldown should start once the clone dies so it isnt permanently up, thats just beyond stupid.
Riot constantly nerfs Shaco to keep him out of the meta. His play style isn’t skilled, just toxic, especially AP Shaco. All you do is stack boxes and press ult when low health hoping the enemy will just haphazardly kill the clone.
If Riot were to rework Shaco; he depends on his boxes and ult damage, he would be more meta and they could make him a real champion.
PinkWard, if ignored and not chased isn’t a threat to anyone. In most games he wins, the enemy just blindly attacks Shaco and gets caught out of position or runs into 3 boxes and dies.
Tip if playing Shaco, use the sweeper ward and pinks…. just force Shaco out of lane, out scale him and take his plates and towers. The PinkWard strategy is to lengthen laning phase and collect gold until the items can kill enemy adc and support/ jungler. He creates mega fed top laners a lot of the time.

When I say its *broken* I mean the purpose of the champion surely weasnt to just sit on 4 boxes and wait. Its terrible champion design, there is zero interaction with the opponent, requires no skill and is just awful for the game experience.
He's a slippery assassin that somehow *for years* has been allowed to be a noob clown that just stacks boxes. I literally cannot understand how Riot has not fixed it. The neglegence is unfathomable.
Fiddle isnt even allowed to fear the same champion on cooldowen, but somehow shaco is allowed to stack 4-5-6 fears on top of each other?? Logic 🤣
@@forzajuve4935 fiddle has also been a much better champ than shaco over years and years, if they put a cd on shacos fear they will need to accommodate somewhere else
@@2delegy My point is shaco is not designed to be a champ that just sits on 5 boxes and fear you for 5 seonds. He's an ad assassin. His q has been nerfed probably 5-10 times, they should buff his q so that he can be played as an ad assassin again and implement a fear cd like on fiddle.

I feel like we should leave it alone. I honestly appreciate that people learn new things about characters and experiment with them, making them their own cause not everyone can repeat what others do. I can see how it would be constantly annoying but I honestly enjoy the way people think. This was fun to watch and I would like to see more of it.

I think its balanced in such a way where its "stupid" for the lower elos. A lot of times though, you can ignore a shaco and still win. Its HARD to outthink the higher elo players who will otherwise ignore you and get them to actually engage you, and it be worth for your team, the way pinkward does.

I love seeing these comments talking about how Shaco needs a nerf or its just a toxic champ. Pinkward is literally one of the best Shacos in the world, of course he will make this look easy. If you go against Shaco all you have to do is not chase him and just use sweepers. Its not hard to counter him.

The crazy thing about how Pink Ward plays Shaco is that instead relying on the enemy chasing him, he manipulates the enemy into retreating into his boxes.
He actually tells people not to do what he does because it's troll. He just perfected it so much he knows what he is doing vs the rest of us.
I've been encountering too many discount Pinkwards in rankeds lately luckily against.
I pick my main reliable Fiddlesticks against em and they can't do a single thing, fiddle drain lights up when invisible champs are near, you can even activate it before the box disappears to keep it visible, it latches to boxes, once revealed box remains visible until you slap it down.
You can also prop the box with Fiddle effigy by dropping it on top, it will activate all boxes within range.
You can silence Shaco after you R on him with the scythe, no Q for you, then drain but again, drain reveals him anyways.
For all the Pinkward wannabes out there, keep ruining rankeds, you'll never be as good as actual Pinkward.

I've nvr seen a person tilt midbeast post game like this before, lmfaooo.
as someone who's played both a fair bit of ad and ap shaco...ap shaco, without the ratios on the boxes and e, is...really. REALLY bad. its annoying as hell sure, but its definitely not OP. for ap especially you need extremely high IQ and knowing timings, box positioning and clone management. its like zed. theyre super strong in the right hands, but the amount of outplaying tthey require to be even half as useful or effective as more simple champions who have better ratios or kits in general is why theyre rarely buffed or nerfed. extremely fair floor, but their ceilings? theyre....limitless. the smallest buffs or nerfs will make them 10x more OP, or borderline useless. take shaco for example. the increased damage on the shiv vs low health targets? was a GODSEND. the boxes doing aoe damage so shaco can ACTUALLY waveclear in top lane? so useful. take those away or lower the ratios and it'll completely kill the champs imo. he's annoying, but solo que-wise, he's in a pretty good state for both shaco playstyles.
also, typically at least in the past, when he got filled jungle, PW would go ad shaco for jungle. but top lane he's almost ALWAYS gonna be ap.
ap shaco requires some sort of brain, ad shaco requires ONE item and the enemy carry is buried deeper than ava kris tysons career
