When I saw Nightwish this past May this song was definitely a highlight of the evening, it was such an amazing night.
I’m a 50 year old construction worker and I cry ALL the time during thier songs.. especially Everdream!
I'm a 57 year old retired construction worker and I cry all the time at their songs especially when I seen them May 12th in Chicago live one concert I will never forget I was close enough to take Emppu's Corona
They certainly have an ability to evoke emotion through their music and performance. Nightwish woke my soul up from a decade of emotional nothingness after having chronic illness issues related to my brain. No medicine or therapy could help, only Nightwish. Tears of joy and tears of processing pain of the past. It was literally medicine for my soul.

don't be embarrassed to tear up. I'm 63 and up all the time! the queen has a way of doing that. she was doing an interview when a woman walked up and told her "you make me cry!" the interview asked floor about that. shyly floor said, "yeah, people tell me that all the time !"
Tuomas doesn't just write songs, he writes emotions. It took me 25 years to decide, but this is my favorite song. You start listening to it and think 'this is a catchy tune', then about halfway through you're thinking 'why am I crying?'. By the end you realize that you haven't taken a breath in the last 3 minutes. This is the magic of Nightwish.

I'm 63 and I've heard their songs probably hundreds of times. if I don't get goosebumps from floor, I get the teary eyes. we fans call them "Floorgasms!" the other 2 singers don't do that, only floor.

Floor says this is her hardest song to sing, but you would never know by watching it. That’s what talented people do. They take something hard and make it appear easy. 😄🤘
Ever Dream is an incredible song. And this performance shakes my soul. So beautiful, powerful and breathtaking. One of Nightwish` quintessential songs.

Oh wau, did that song got to you. Congratulations I think from NW reactions this was 1st one that got your eyes tear up. Just want to warn you. There will be many more songs like that coming. And that's why We NW reactecide fans love band so much. And as bonus because I'm a 42year old Finnish guy, I have even more special place in my heart for the whole crew.

I'm a 62 yo vet and so many of their compositions do just that... wreck me.
There are two songs that completely unravel my control... I've never been religious, but AMAZING GRACE on bagpipes and SHOEMAKER by Nightwish!
NW has a couple epic journeys in addition to GLS. THE POET AND THE PENDULUM and THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH require a lunch, a snack and a box of tissues.
Not to be overlooked are Tarja and Annette.
Both singers left a legacy of recordings as well. IMO, both have contributed to the discography, but have limitations that Floor does not.
SLEEPING SUN (with the video) sung by Tarja and BYE BYE BEAUTIFUL (a bonafide Banger) fronted by Annette are great examples of their abilities.

That last minute where the key changes and the double bass drum kicks gets a lot of people. Floor must surely drink several pints of jet fuel for this one! Amazing display of her vocal upper chest register

I don't exaggerate when I say this band has saved my life. In my darkest moments where everything was just too much, and even when I felt dead inside, Nightwish was there to dig me out. This band is a gift to humanity and I'm so grateful and lucky to be a fan for 17 years. Thanks for reacting to my favorite Nightwish song.

Nightwish will get you again and again. Its like they shine a light into our hearts, revealing pieces long forgotten or never before discovered. It is a great journey of growth and discovery. They are the only band I can truly say has changed my life, improved my outlook and made me a better person.
I got through the concert with an ear to ear grin and more than a few tears. I had massive expectations before I saw them and it exceeded that by a mile. Absolutely amazing.

If you would like to see Floor singing in other styles, watch her duet with Henk Poort on the Dutch tv show Bestezangers where they sing Phantom of the Opera, it is sensational, or her cover of Shallow by Lady Gaga on the same show, for more grit vocals search for her old band Revamp singing Distain, this was at Grasspop, she will stun you again,

Many of us have been following this band for a while and every time hearing and seeing this band makes a lot of us get emotional each time. imo Floor brings that emotional peak to a whole other level. I read in an interview that she's a High Sensitive Person (HSP) and is very empathic. Her singing is very emotional and she seems to push those feeling straight to the crowd. I don't know of another band that can make people get so worked up like they do. Her stage presence and the band theatrics really drive their music on a high plateau that is so emotionally satisfying whether you need a good cheering up or cries of sadness or joy (sometimes all in one song!). Please keep going and never be afraid to display your emotions, that's part of the reaction and truly an honest one. 🤘🥲🤘

You are correct, the entire band just amazing! Floor has a way of touching that spot in you you had forgotten about. I am a big tough guy, metal head from way back, and I am just putty in Floor's hands when she sings.

Floor’s singing makes me emotional too. You’ve now seen four great performances from the Wacken 2013 show, all 15 songs were amazing, but… you haven’t seen my personal favorite from that show - Song of Myself - dark, gritty, crunchy, and Floor summons fire. Tuomas knew that floor was the one. I mean how could you not know. She is absolutely a vocal goddess.
One of my Nightwish favorites this one also. That Jukka's double kicking there, I just love his drumming and his style ❤🥁🤘And Tuomas, our metal Mozart who writes and composes this great music.
100%. Jukka is amazing. My ear has always zeroed in on the rhythm section of any band, and Nightwish had a massive talent in both him and Marco. He picked an excellent successor in Kai. He has a totally different feel, but still makes you want to moooooove.

well now---if you're ever in the mood to cry on the air, then this song will do it you....Nightwish "Dead Boy's Poem"---This song is about a young boy who is misunderstood. He never has had anyone close or anyone at all to talk to, so his music is what he lives for and is where he puts his feelings. His music gives him the push to keep on living and he puts everything into it. He tries to improve his life but whatever he does, he can never get back to the way he used to be. He says that people shouldn't ask for a better world because the world has already been made and been done.
In the talking part of the song, he is telling people not to remember him but to remember the music that was his life. He wants a mother's lap to sit on, he just wants to be loved. You'll experience this level of quality in about 30-50 NW songs, before any diping. Pretty much one of a kind band, for me.

This line up members is like a super group. Everyone of them are extremely talented and outstanding performers.
Here, as promised, for the ride. Trust me, we all get tears, pretty much every song, every time. This is the only band I've ever seen that plays with a "hivemind" - they literally share the same brain when they play. Nobody makes a mistake, nobody misses a beat, nobody can do what they do. I truly love sharing it with you.

I see Gabriel has made his appearance (all hail Bardac the Magnificent). He is the keeper of the knowledge, master of all things Nightwish. If you need to know more about the band or have any questions...accept no substitute. I was only introduced to Nightwish 8 or 10 months ago myself and they have CHANGED MY LIFE. Keep rockin' girl, the best is yet to come.

To de guns and roses I know now that nightwish have been around for over 2 decades and floor is there 3rd singer and the 2 previous singers have there fans but floor is somthing else I fell in love with her from the moment she started singing ghost love score I have heard it hundreds of times still get goose bumps (floor gasums)
" Ever Dream " is the sixth single by Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. Released as the first single from the band's fourth studio album, Century Child, it was the group's first single in two years, following " Deep Silent Complete " in 2000.
The song is more operatic in nature than later works and the music itself is more on the heavy metal side. It is still played live since 2002 until today. "Ever Dream" was certified with Gold Disc in Finland two days after its release, with more than 5,000 copies sold, and later received Platinum Disc with more than 10,000 copies sold.
I don't know how she can maintain that volume and quality in her voice; every time I hear and watch this song! This must be so hard to sing (I am not an expert, but still ...). Thanks for sharing this!

The music of Nightwish combined with Floor's vocals is a combination that embeds itself into your soul and grabs onto your heart strings then never ever lets go! I'm a 54 year old guy and I still get misty eyed every time I hear several of these songs. I'm enjoying following along on your journey of Nightwish discovery. It's like I'm discovering them all over again myself.

I've watched and sung to Nightwish songs with Floor probably , no kidding, close to 300 times. (Conservative estimate) And her voice still makes me cry. It's with sadness sometimes, happiness sometimes, excitement and so on. You get my drift 😊 I'm sure I can safely say your reaction to these songs and videos looks like you feel the same way. 😀 I've been asked "why are tearing up during Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean" ? 😂 IT JUST COMES OUT! I love it so much!! Lol This is a pretty damn near perfect band. I think I've heard only 1 song with Floor I'm not too particularly fond of. as soon as that second part comes back in and that double kick drums of jukkas pace quickend quite a bit and floor comes in and does her awesome higher belting takes that song to another level of electric

However, I really wish you had chosen the 2005 End Of An Era version of Ever Dream with Tarja Turunen as singer. I always feel that Ever Dream is one of these songs that fit better with Tarja's more operatic voice. Also, the emotions behind this very specific performance are incredible. Allegedly, Tuomas Holopainen wrote Ever Dream for Tarja, and the End Of An Era concert is the very last time Nightwish performed this song with Tarja. The band knew this, Tarja didn't as she got told the band's decision to part with her right after the concert. You can only imagine how Tuomas must have felt when they played that song that day.
Now, having mentioned End Of An Era, if you continue your journey through Nightwish's music, you should react to that concert's versions of Nemo, Sleeping Sun, and Phantom Of The Opera. Those are iconic performances of the band with Tarja.

Wow, wow, wow Jynger! Eyegasims and well as a Floorgasim! I'm not surprised. Floor's vocal gymnastics are incredible. Together with Marco they are a tour de force. Every song a masterpiece performed with accomplished musicians and live at that. I would say that this band is one of the best live performers on the planet. Hi sweetie...Yes, you just had a "Floorgasm"....it's so nice...everytime I hear this song, my goosebumps gets floorgasms...she's amasing.
Just when you think they've topped out, they find another gear and kicks it up a level. When Jukka slams the kick drums into overdrive and lifts the song to a unimaginable level, it seems inhuman! But they all go with it and take us with them. I've never heard anything like it and they do it all the time. Remember. all the songs you've heard so far are from ONE CONCERT! All the Gods smiled on this one.
