  • The main reason why I got interested in building weather stations and started www.seanssurfreport.com is so that I could keep an eye on conditions whilst working from home. A few hours of decent onshore wind lift the swell whilst still having relatively clean conditions - and that is the perfect time to take a break from work and rush to the beach for a session!
In this video the wind was 10-14 knots at Kitesurf Beach Center in Umm Al Quwain, UAE. The Flysurfer Hybrid is an amazing, lightweight kite that is so fun to use. Here I'm riding the 7.5m with short lines (12m) and I'm on the Axis Spitfire 960 (the 840 was not with me, otherwise I would've been on that!) and the board is 4'6" 33L.

    Why the short lines?

I guess because the kite moves quicker and is more playful. It's a personal choice 🙂

Nice clip but I can’t understand how people enjoy this flutter kite.

Flatter is due to the fact that the rider is riding with the wave energy and not the kite energy, so when the bar is up the kite does flatter. Flatter decreases the airflow on the kite so the kite will not fly over your head but will drift with you what makes the kite super stable and makes waveriding possible.
