Before the community kitchen program in Kerala started, my mother prepared five packets of food, comprising rice , curry and pickle for the guest laborers of our state. It was an initiative taken up by our residence association to provide atleast 5 packets of food from each residence.

So proud of you my dearest ladies with the biggest heart! I know during lockdown your chores are doubled, with everyone at home. Inspite of the extra pressure, you have decided to do the needful for helpless migrant workers. It takes ordinary people to think extraordinary! Have you ever heard any film actress thinking of the poor? There are exceptions too like Mr. Sonu Sood who arranged special buses for the migrant workers to their native places. I salute him too like I completely salute you,. GOD bless you!

Great job Barkha, bringing these stories into the limelight. Is this possible in Mumbai? You did an interview with Sonu Sood. We want to feed the labourers. But where & how do we find them, when we are not able to move out? Can some arrangement be made by such genuine people who can collect food from housing societies?. If we knew they were passing through or reaching our suburb in an hour or two, we can cook & deliver food to them while they are passing through. Maybe an App can be developed where those who want to contribute food & volunteers who can collect them, can be connected? I know there is an App where relatives of patients at Tata Cancer Hospital are fed this way. No cash, only cooked food, pickles, biscuits, milk & fruits are collected.
Its a great job feeding a Hunger in this time .hats off to you
