  • Every week, Eco India brings you stories of innovations from across India and Europe, and the people who make them possible. Our top story this week looks at a small group of women in Vellore, who have built more than 600 recharge wells over the last four years, ensuring a six metre-rise in groundwater levels, and the revival of a once-dead river.

These NOBLE women deserve a dinner/banquet with the prime minister or the president of India to encourage others to do the same.
I call them NOBLE women because of their selfless & hard work for beautifying and enriching the country.
The chief minister should hold a banquet in their honor.
👍 big salute and admiration 👍

Truly great work. The ladies should be appreciated at the highest level.
This initiative should be made as a national program. People all along the rivers banks of this country should be mobilised and involved. Fundings through MNREGA etc should essentially for such developmental projects.
Regulatory agencies for river pollution and soil erosion should co-work with such team for a better, safe and sustainable living.
Hats of to the women force of our nation.

Women understand nature, they are part of it on another level, giving life and supporting life is same for women as for Earth. Also as women, Earth do need some appreciation and care. I applaud these women for all the hard work they have put in. They have my full admiration. xx
