    Loving the let-my-subs-guide-me format! Maybe I can do the same when you find yourself around Manila and Luzon again. There are still so many other subcategories to explore like rice cakes, deserts, native pastries, snacks, etc.👍👍

    Munggo, one of many Filipino’s ultimate comfort food. Can cook with pork and like the guy said, pairs well with dried fish. I always gotta have it when in front of me lol.

    True what your male hoat said. Filipinos more often than not eat OCCASIONALLY. You witnessed it, 7 birthdays. Most Filipino families go out to restos whenever there's something to celebrate and usually it's a birthday. Go to buffets in Manila, almost all the tables have a celebrant

    • @PureDetour

      @@PureDetour but hey, I'm with you when you say you're getting pissed off. Me too, when they sing in a very loud, disruptive manner, it pisses me off as well and don't even look towards their direction because evidently they're calling attention to themselves (crew members who're singing). I'm not a KJ (Kill Joy) but they can acknowledge someone's birthday and give them a mini-cake or whatever without disrupting the peace of others.

  • @larrylim8050

    Most restaurant patrons in the Philippines are filled with people not casually dining but celebrating something specially birthdays... so if the restaurant has that singing service (disservice to those not celebrating birthdays), the guests of the celebrants would definitively love to surprise the celebrant... so expect this in restaurants that are special.

      it isnt unusual to like filipino food, just because the haters that are fanboys of other places say they hate it or it is supposedly so bad, doesnt make those people the majority of people that have eaten filipino food, those of us that like it let the food speak for itself, so we dont need to get all loud and brag about it, things that are really good are good on their own no need for word of mouth, I have loved every filipino food I have eaten, and definitely poultry and seafood also noodle dishes, and I am from the US.

    • @PureDetour

      The food in the Philippines is highly underrated. All of it was delicious

    • @gangstagummybear3432

      @@PureDetour I know right, heck, going by popular "world rankings" the United States even has "bad food" so its not even something I take serious when I hear people talk about food negatively.

    • @PureDetour
      @PureDetour  Před rokem +3

      I have read the same things about Egypt. Also not true there. Egypt and the Philippines have great food if your palate is matured beyond chicken nuggets

    • @gangstagummybear3432
      @gangstagummybear3432 Před rokem +3

      @@PureDetour And when it comes to poultry and seafood, Philippines is among the top on my list, they dont need to over-season their meats and seafood to make it taste good, they are experts at making meat very juicy and tender in PH; that is pretty much all that matters to me literally.
