amazing, I live in Finland for 3 years but struggling to find a job (i have russian name). Your lessons are really helpful
@@Manticoruss there are stages before you get to talk to someone. Also I don't speak Finnish smoothly. Don't play the fool, please
Thanks. How to use the sufixes ni, si etc?
They are mandatory in written language. In spoken language they are rarely used. One could use them for emphasis. Note on written language one can leave the first or second person pronoun out as the possessive suffix tells it. Again this would be rare on spoken language-
"Y'alls" is something that only some Engish speakers say (thankfully).
How can i start from the very beginning I'll be moving to finland in August
Hi can i have request, can teach us when to use the s- cases(ssa,sta,-hvn) and L-cases(lla, lta, lle)
hei opettaja seuraan sinua helsigista.opetit erittain hyvin kiitos
Kiitos!
Kiiti đ!!
That was very interesting. In German, of course, there are also possessive pronouns. And they often change because they are used in relation to a particular case. In Finnish, this is probably also the case, for example the word meille, I assume it is in the allative here. In Germany, this would be the accusative.
Now it would be interesting to see how they change the possessive pronouns in Finnish when they are adapted to the cases.
đđ
Your pronunciation is perfection.
My English isn't.
kiitos†I am new to here. Dont we need to use genitive case when saying "This is my pen"I thought it should be like TĂ€ma on minun kynĂ€ni. Correct me if I am wrong. These cases are so confusingđą
excellent: merci!
Pourrais-tu éventuellement ajouter un aspect étymologique à tes leçons?

moi, how do i say, "(BEFORE MY TRIP and BEFORE THE TRIP) in finnish?
Before my trip = ennen matkaani or ennen mun matkaa
Before the trip = ennen matkaa
@@KatChatsFinnish Kittos paljon sun auta.
Hei Kat, mÀ oon korealainen, joka opiskelen suomea. MÀ huomaan, ettÀ osa sun koreankielisen tekstityksissÀ ovat muutama mokaa, ja mÀ mietin, voisinko osallistua niiden luomiseen? Kiitos etukÀteen :)
Hi Kat, I'm a Korean learning Finnish, and I noticed that there are a few errors in the Korean subtitles, and I was wondering if I can help contribute in creating them! Thank you in advacne :)
Yeah, youtube used to let the community make subtitles but idk the feature got taken away like a year ago. So now I manually have to make the English subtitles and then it machine translates to the other languages xD So I doubt they are very good!
are the possessive suffixes even used in puhekieli? I got the feeling that you can say mun kirjani or just mun kirja and it means the same
Exactly, they mean the same. In kirjakieli possessive suffix is not optional, so you could write for example *TÀmÀ on minun kirjani* 'This is my book' or *Kirjani on hyvÀ* 'My book is good'. Because the possessive suffix tells the person, word *minun* is optional and can express emphasis: *Minun kirjani on hyvÀ* 'My book is good (but another book maybe is not)'. In speech we don't use possessive suffixes, so they would be *TÀmÀ on mun kirja* and *Mun kirja on hyvÀ* .
@@mikahamari6420 oh the part with putting emphasis is quite interesting kiitos :)
Nah. You can just omit "mun" and just say "kirjani"
@@miem9775 Great. :) The emphasis could mean in different context different things, you can modify the effect with your tone of voice. It could be used also neutrally, but the main rule is: because *minun* is optional, writing it in the sentence have a function.
@@ratflail215 but that sounds more written language. "Mun kirja" is the most natural
Something to point out is that, (to my knowledge), the pronoun and possessive 'hÀn/hÀnen' can also be used for referring to someone as 'they' if it is only one person, but 'he/heidÀn' is used for referring to more than one person as 'they'.
Also I think that 'Ne' and 'Se' usually refer to non-person objects, so it could be rude.
if you come to Mexico. đČđœ đź I will be waiting for you đ
Miun kynÀ, siun kynÀ, meijÀn kynÀt, teijÀn kynÀt, heijÀn kynÀt.. ;)
Meiden-meiden same

ĐșŃĐ°ŃĐŸŃĐșĐ°
Minun kuppini. In official written language possessive suffixes are mandatory. "Minun kuppi" sounds weird.
Well, talking to my friend it's easy when my/yours/his/hers/its are always "hĂ€nen": Onks hĂ€nen auto pesty? (is your car washed?) and HĂ€nen avaimet unohtu kotiin (I forgot my keys home). Likewise, we use "hĂ€n" for singular subject pronoun and "he" for plural đ some confusions might happen but it's worth it
You Know You so cute I like You Buddy
Ovatko muodot kynÀni, kynÀsi, kynÀnsÀ kadonneet suomen kirjakielestÀ? TÀssÀ videossa ei tietenkÀÀn tarvitse mennÀ niihin, Mutta ne voisi mainita.
Yeah, be careful how to use these pronouns. "Se", "toi" etc are used for objects. Unless you know the person well they could think it as insulting.
hello sorry i searched on google "possessiv pronouns in finnish" after watching your very helpful video, but they didnt give me the same result as you.
for example for "my ...." they gave me = minun kuppini
your cup = sinun kuppisi etc
so the word changes, at least according to the website. so i was wondering if you could explain why the word change please, if you can.
The version you are describing is kirjakieli. So the grammatically correct one. In puhekieli (or spoken langauge that people use when speaking) the same would be: âmun kuppiâ âsun kuppuâ etc
@@KatChatsFinnish sorry me again.
mun kuppi - sun kuppU ? so the noun changes again?
@@clementlaforge5876 Sorry that was a typo!!! "sun kuppi" is correct sorry!!
