My mother, who usually had very little money for groceries, typically fed the five of us wheaties or Cheerios and milk for breakfast and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with oreo cookies for our school lunches. I would be so hungry between meals that while waiting for dinner I would curl up in the recliner holding my stomach. I would also be hungry before bed and my mother would sometimes give us one piece of bread. Unfortunately, I did not know how important meat was most of my life until recently. I also lost 20 lbs. My family ditched junk food and are slowly coming off refined carbs. As we ran out of breafast cereal, jam, bread, sugar and flour, I simply didn't buy it again. No more sandwiches for lunch at school. I cook meat or fish for them every day for their lunch and dinner. Some vegetables (very few), occasionally a handful of berries or 90% chocolate and they love it. If they have sugar cravings (it takes time to overcome those and I don't want them to rush things),I stir together full fat Greek yogurt and some vanilla extract or make cottage cheese ice cream.

  • @Kyarrix

Hey Dante, I've remarked on this in the past. I was badly abused as a child, in boarding schools and at home. I ended up needing a hip replacement and a knee replacement. I was thrown into the dining room door so hard it broke the femoral head of my right hip and then I wasn't given medical care for 2 weeks, necrosis set in and the rest followed.
I decided I wanted to go to law school so I could help and protect others who needed it. Most coming from a background of this type of abuse don't end up going to law school, most don't survive. Books and learning were always my escape. I did well, worked several jobs to get myself through undergrad and then law school and when I graduated I received several offers from corporations.
I declined those offers. They would have made me wealthy, they would have made me safe and safety was something I wanted but I declined them anyway. I was not going to work for corporations that make people sick. It didn't matter that I would benefit, I couldn't do it so I didn't.
I ended up 330 lb in a scooter as a result of all the surgeries, I am now a little over 180 and I can walk and bike. I found Dr Jason Fung, read his book, got rid of processed food, got rid of sugars and carbohydrates started to eat a real food diet.
Then I found carnivore and I'm dialing it the rest of the way in.
I don't want to believe that all of this is done with intent. I think a lot of it is simply capitalism, people are greedy and they want to make more money and they don't care what happens. I hope it isn't done intentionally to control people and keep them fat, sick and stupid. Whether it is or isn't, we have to do our utmost to educate ourselves. Ideally we do that without descending into a rabbit hole but we have to educate ourselves. Perhaps I'll come around to the idea that this is all done intentionally with malice in order to control and harm us but I very much hope that isn't the case.
With regard to Biden and all the rest of it, it's a mistake to attribute to malice what can easily be explained by stupidity. Based on everything I know of Joe Biden he tries to be a decent human being. I don't think he is attempting to make everyone sick and fat and miserable. Ignorance yes, but in his case I don't believe it's malice. I could be wrong but I hope that I'm not. If someone has evidence to the contrary I would be interested to see it. That's not to say I want to vote for him, but we have to guard against going too far, against assuming that everyone is a bad actor when many of them are ignorant.
Your channel is educating people and I am happy to support you. Thank you for all you're doing.

    • @Kyarrix
      @Kyarrix Před 2 měsíci +6

@@angelwild5665 I think you're right. There are people who do it from malice and greed and those who are simply ignorant and a large number of people somewhere in between.
When I see the CEO of Kellogg's telling people to eat cereal for dinner it makes me very angry. It is difficult to attribute his position to ignorance. He has to be aware of how bad it is for people to eat cereal. I don't think he wants the poor and middle class to eat cereal because they are under pressure and it will help them. He wants them to eat cereal because it puts money in his pocket and he doesn't care what it does to their health.
I said what I did because I don't want us to descend into paranoia and extremism. I honestly don't know where that line is. The more I learn, the closer I come to that extreme way of thinking and I'm trying to guard against it than myself. There are absolutely many people operating from malice and greed. Big corporations lobbying Congress are operating from greed. I hope it isn't the majority.
Thank you for your comment, I'm still working hard at healing myself and trying to become the best version of myself that I can be.

it goes back farther than the advent of the food pyramid. In ancient Rome, any time the commoners would get too strong & start causing issues for the rulers, they would cut off the meat supply & give them free bread & entertainment, the origin of "Bread & circuses" was to restrict the meat supply & give the people something to keep them from starving, but not allow them to be their strongest. The same with medieval Europe, the commoners weren't allowed to hunt, those were the King's animals & hunting them resulted in severe punishment, "but, here, grow these grains to feed your family".

Thank you for posting these videos and talking about these things. I started carnivore 2 years ago and had great success. There’s so much change to it in physically adapting and healing, going through withdrawals for sugar and carbohydrates, dealing with concerned friends and relatives, finding out all of the lies you thought were true like the food pyramid and avoiding healthy foods like eggs and beef, finding out my goal weight was still too high as I continued to loose weight after I reached that weight. Doing pull ups for the first time since 7 years old when I began to fatten up. For a decade I focused my goals on different methods of losing weight through different exercise routines. I ate a “healthy” low fat diet like they all recommended. I didn’t eat cookies or candy often, yet I still couldn’t lose weight. Once I started eating meat, everything changed. Tonight I’m 32 hours into a fast. I’m just seeing how I feel. It’s been an interesting day. I was a little hungry around my lunch time, and again about dinner time, but it wasn’t strong. I had a little ACV and went back to my day. I always had intense hunger cravings at night before when I would try a longer fast like this. It’s been a few months since I have. I expected to feel really hungry by now but I feel completely fine. I know in the morning I’ll feel fine again. I don’t know how long I’ll go still. Not past 72 hours, but I’ve never gone to 72 hours before so I wonder if I’ll try it this time. It will depend on my energy tomorrow. So far so good though. I appreciate people sharing their stories in the comments. For anyone struggling with it or wondering if they should continue, or start, stick with it. The people who warn you and ridicule you for this way of eating will soon see what it’s done to completely improve your health. Some of them will even join you after a while. You won’t need to keep track of studies or evidence from others because your own health will be the proof. I’ve been obese my whole life. Now finally at 42, it feels like my life has finally begun. I wish I had known not to trust what everyone thinks they know. It obviously doesn’t work. Eating low fat doesn’t make you thin and eating fat without carbs and sugar doesn’t make you fat. It’s insane to see the weight melting off of your body daily knowing you’ve been eating as many eggs, bacon, and beef as you wanted at every meal.

So true, that we WASTE money on stuff that breaks quickly, and on food that breaks out bodies, all because it's what's easiest to acquire and is cheap! That's why my our mantra when shopping is "pay now or pay (more!) later."

What has changed in the last few years and made so many aware of so many things including diet, Covid was a curse and a blessing, people like myself started to realize we have been lied to for decades about news, vaccines, our school system and the food we eat. I like yourself have changed my diet to eliminate anything the big food industrial complex puts its greedy little hands on. I pretty much only buy from the local butcher and farmers market. I have lost 40 lbs in the last year.
I also talk to my wife, kids and anyone who is willing to listen but the greatest testimony is people seeing the results of what you do. When they get sick and tired about being sick and tired, they’ll come around.

And last but not least, eat like your ancient ancestors. That would be sources of food that do not come from a manufacturing plant. As a matter of fact, we should all buy from local farmers and shut food manufacturing down. They don't own us, we own them. Remember we're the ones that need to eat

If you have a yard, or a little more, it only takes 70 x 70 feet of grass to raise a weaned lamb to 120-150 lbs butcher size. You can process it yourself, and save the scraps for the dog & cat or chickens. The wool & hide is useful too. Compost or burn the useless parts and use as garden fertilizer. Meat doesn't have to be high priced. Grow endless Jerusalem artichokes for people and animal food, learn to soak degas them for yourself. They're actually tastier than potatoes!! 20% or more protein leaves for livestock. Free crop every year with no planting after the first time.

I was going to say that the food pyramid has 50% of your food as carbs, but if you add up the minimum servings of grains, vegetables, and fruits (11) vs. the minimum servings of dairy and meat protein (4) it's almost 75% of your food as carbs. Or am I calculating it wrong?

I do miss breakfast cereal very much.
But I don't miss the health problems.
I narrowly avoided insulin injections in 2019 by cutting out most carbs.
I WILL eat a bowl of breakfast cereal again one of these days when I'm super fit & it's my birthday or I'm on my deathbed at 99+. Really fun to eat. Treats are ok on rare occasion.
Humans are tough. Just not tough enough for daily consumption.

I use to buy a new belt anywhere from 12, 15, 18 months if I stretched it out long enough. Then I bought a quality belt for 3.5x the cost and have used it daily for 8 years (96 months). Point is, you get what you pay for. Stop buying products that last a year and manufacturers will stop making products that don't sell.

yeah you can def see the inflation if you look at the price of an ounce of gold throughout the past 100 years. Or even just in the past five years. Gold was 1200s per ounce in spring of 2019, now it has almost doubled. 50% in just five years shows how much printing has devalued the dollar. back in the early 70s i believe 35 an ouce.
