- On a budget? No problem, if you can use a manual lens. Here's my latest review on a rather unique and cheap metal manual lens from Pergear, with a portrait focal length and a bright 1.6 aperture. Is it any good? #microfourthirds #photography #olympus #pergear

I love the Pergear 25mm 1.8, it only cost me $45 USD with free shipping and it’s probably the best lens for the price I’ve ever bought. It blows the old Meike 25mm 1.7 I used to have out of the water. Pergear really be shining in the MFT community. The packaging is crazy from a lens that cost me $45, it even came with a pouch which I never expected.
I definitely have to try this lens, they blew me away with the 25mm. I love the look that these lenses give my images.
Thanks for the review jimmy!
That chrome nose looks very nice ✨
Nice. I got a M. Zuiko 14-42mm ii r lens for 70 dollars and it was still in great shape. Sometimes those lenses sell for super cheap.
Background music was lower volume and better this time, but the syncopated rhythm seemed out of place. Better no music than distracting music. Your presentation is very animated and really doesn't need background music at all. I am always impressed by your enthusiasm and passion for photography. Cheers.
I have the olympus 30mm f3.5 macro and allthough much slower,i will stick to it. Oly is good quality build and excelent lens elements and i can use it for macro and portret and as a general use lens and also can do photo stacking.
A comparison with the Oly 45mmf1.8 would be useful
An ultimate budget portrait lens comparison is coming.
nice review, any review of the cheaper andoer 25mm 1.8, from Aliexpress? and anyone knows if fit in a M10 mark II?
Yes I reviewed it earlier this year. It will fit em10 ii
@@Red35Photography wow thank you for your quick answer. Just made a mistake I mean mark iii.
@@cesarurrea5342 No worry, yes and will fit Mark III too :)
Thanks for the review, but how would it compare to like Panasonic 25mm f1.7 or Olympus 17mm f1.8 please?
Any chance you'll get your hands on the 35 1.2 in the near future? I've been really interested in that, especially when compared to the older 1.6 you have here. It's also just 129€ on amazon, very tempting.
On second look, there is also a 7artisans 35 1.2 that's a lot smaller than Pergear's - this is really interesting
I got the 7artisans and am a bit disappointed, it isn’t sharp enough for anything but portraits. That might be ok for the price, but a comparison would be interesting. I like this focal length.
@@hauke3644 Do you have the version 1 or 2? I'm also a big fan of the 70-90mm range, so I'm quite curious about the native MF options on the market.
@@JennyDarukat I didn't know there are 2 versions... Mine looks exactly like this: www.7artisans.com/en/h-pd-29.html#_pp=105_3765
I can request one to see if I can get the 1.2 for review. The 1.6 is quite sharp actually, one of the sharpest Pergear lenses I've tested so far.
@@Red35Photography Meanwhile I got the Pergear 35/1.6 and it seems to be better than the 7Artisans. At least, it is clearly sharper at f 1.6. Interesting is, both look almost identical except from the larger front element of the 7Artisans.
How is the field curvature?
Can the flare be cheated out, with filter?
I doubt it, flare is an internal problem not external; it's caused by reflections from internal surfaces.
when you do a review of 7artisans f / 0.95?
How would it be on the street?
Not bad for a short tele on the street. usable.
But, sometimes different optical formulas, while not meeting the equivalent standards of a Zuiko m4/3 lens, offer their own advantages. There are also some nice looking, 11 element, 35mm f/0.95 manual lenses being sold for about $250.
This means it is easy to stay between ISO’s 64 to 400. Size of lens, quite reasonable. I call this, ‘having it both ways’, and, ‘good’. 😀
Thanks for another very fun lens presentation!
Cheers matey. There are options nowadays and still MFT manual lenses are smaller than other format, that makes MFT still the smallest and most capable travel system if size is top priority.
Is Pergear.com safe ? ‼️ (anyone?)
Same Question :/
