Smart & Easy Drawer Slide, Q&A and Mini Project (Random Shop Stuff 26)

- In a past video I asked for some questions. But since I did that in a way so you could only fin d that if you watched the whole video. It acheived what I wanted and I got only good questions, also more personal ones and didn't had to filter any of them. I also built a simple stand for a freezer with a drawer. I made wooden drawer slides, that are almost full extension and the drawer won't fall down and has a positive stop.

Who makes the best "clock falling" joke. Write them down below
I bought a clock last week but I got it on tick
obviously having a bit of down time.
Ain't got time for that!
Am I too late for this?
You really floored me with the comedic timing, but it wasn't very well balanced.
I never miss one of your videos either :) Really looking forward to seeing your CNC upgrades.
Whwn will you post new videos?
yeah!
👍🏻👋🏻
I think it doesn't matter someone else did any project before. I 'd like to see YOUR PERSPECTIVE doing staff. You're unique. Do whatever you want. We'll watch it
Nice to see that you are back with regular uploads.
Instead of the distributor block with threads I'd recommend using a simple barbed 3 way (brass) T-fitting for hoses. It's not only cheaper, but even more importantly there are no leaking threads, because there are non to seal in the first place. If the hoses are in the clamps on the wall, the piece is also easily held in place by them, no need to mount fitting itself to the wall.
Perfect timimg for the weekend - always enjoyable!
For anyone interested: The drawer pull is called a "Lauf-Streif-Kippleiste". About the, if not the simplest drawer slide you can make and a minimum requirement in finishing your apprenticeship as a Carpenter here.
I never miss a episode of Frank Howarth
I'm glad Jer is back to making videos, I hope he's doing well
amazing when one of your fav CZcamsrs lists off their fav channels and you have almost all of them on your subscriber list!!!!
🤣 “42 can’t be wrong”, very well said!
Time flies when you're having fun!
You are probably busy with stuff, otherwise you would have made the drawer at least box jointed. We love you Marius, want to see more of you.
There was a magician in the UK called Tommy Cooper, now sadly dead, whose standing gag was that his tricks never worked properly. I see some of his talent in you, Marius.
I guess time really does fly when you watch a Marius Hornberger video!
My whole family loves josh (lets game it out) too.
9:16 "Hello down there"
General Hornberger!
Nice showing about drawslide.
Sweet! I've done a couple of cabinets with drawers that didn't have drawer slide hardware. Have not looked for the laminated plywood here in the U.S.
I personally like to use soap and water in a spray bottle to check for air or gas leaks under pressure. I'm also finding I really like the new self-locking push-to-connect air fittings. I had a piece of air hose here while back that would not seal up, so I ordered some push-to-connect style fitting and hose.
Glad to see another video from you
I love you mentioned coldmirror. She is such a legend!
Kaddi, lebende Legende! Eine der wenigen Deutschsprachigen Unterhaltungs-CZcamsrn die man sich ansehen kann, ohne komplett in Fremdscham unterzugehen :)
Thanks
Hurry, he’s back. 👍
Love the drawer solution! Phenolic-faced ply is way underutilised, there are loads of applications for it. UHMW strips too - I think they're very common in industry/process engineering, but I only ever see makers using the tape, or sometimes offcuts of chopping boards. Really low friction, really low wear, really cheap!
Happy to see you uploading again I so enjoy your videos! I totally cracked up when you cut off your exclaimation when kept closing the drawer all the way! LOL Thanks for the laugh!
great show... love it
The main man Marius, love your work my friend 👍
Always very inspiring and funny! Thanks!!!
Marcus, this Idea is superb. Congratulations! Cheers from SAO PAULO-BRAZIL!
Great video. Cool drawer slide design. Having a pressure regulator near the machine is a great idea. Mahalo for sharing. : )
Good to have you back Marius!
Awesome! More than a video a quarter!
:D, Be aware, the next one will come next week
Hey im from México i recently discover your channel is very interesting, thanks for sharing your knowledge, you're a very skilled person.
That is a good idea for drawers ideal for my shed thank you
Thank you Marius you have great project ideas and great explaining in your videos good man
oh yes, Coldmirror the godmother of german language CZcams!
Marius, Always good to see another video of yours is available to watch! Especially like the new compressor line run you showed us. AND the drawer slide build. I’m definitely going to look into that kind of wood but prices for wood here in the USA have gone crazy! So I’ll have to wait (a long long time).
You said Toolify was one video channel you like and watch most often. But his latest video was 4 years ago. Am I not looking at the right Toolify you mentioned?
excellent vid thanks
I Always test pressure fittings by putting them to my face
8:33 ... is it me you looking for... 😁
I like how you expand the draw action. I have chest of draws that I'm planning on modifying for workshop for miscellaneous storage.
Let's Game It Out eh? I see you too are a man of culture.
Hey, a note on your 3d printed gasket. A great idea and may be helpful when you need one quickly but a lot of these fittings are designed to seal on the threads, not the shoulder of the fitting. A common example is NPT fittings (tapered threads). Not 100% what fittings you have there but please stay safe!
11:09 - funny how the hose-clamps 'magically' apparate out of thin air :p
yes, sometimes 42 is the right answer!
Maybe an idea for random shop stuff #27...since you've had your Hammer K3, have you done a video on how you rip thin strips? Maybe you have a version of the Fritz-and-Franz jig, or?
Thanks for the drawer tip, I'm going to try that next week
I wanted to make a fritz and franz jig forever, but never had enough need for it to really make it.
Awesome !! I always liked UHMW tape for this too. It allows you to create a tight fit and for it to slide easily
I wonder if I can get this in the states
I see you’re working around the clock to put out these video. Nice work!
Easy! And smart.
Thanks
6:42 "when my dad and I bought the slave here" :)
Smart & *Easy, nice vid btw, thought I'd sound like a knob with just adding the correction haha
Thanks for the correction!
👌🏻 Thanks
P. S. Tell your Dad, some viewers appreciate him too. Because he seems to be with you, in what you do. 👍🏻
I sent him a screenshot of your comment. Thanks man!
nice
I'm a fan of Loctite or other thread sealer, but the O-Ring looks good, too. Not a major fan of teflon tape.
LOL. Very entertaining and informative. I love how you solve individual problems like an engineer. But I'm going to have to dock 50% of LIKES due to lack of documentation. 😂
Just goes to prove that time does not fly
Coated plywood stay slippery until some dust get between rails)
Friday ;)
No outakes, come on Marius. :D
I tried to include them during the video
@@MariusHornberger :thumbsup.
A wood chuck would chuck as much wood as a wood chuck could chuck if a would chuck could chuck wood.
10:33 talk about losing time on a build...
:D, I should have made a competition about: Who makes the best clock-joke
If something gets under the drawer, is it possible that the back of the drawer could lift and catch on the top rails preventing you from pulling it open? Since I never overstuff thing into drawers I'm asking for a friend. :)
Yes, that could happen, but not to this drawer, since the only thing underneath it is the floor.
0:26 Are those your homemade leveling feet? How did you make them small? I've seen your videos of the big ones, but these look and probably work differently...like where will the bolts go on the drawer? Add a base?
They are not the same. It's only a bolt with a hex-shpe 3D-printed pad clamped on the bolt head. It gets directly threaded in the wood where I cut threads into
@@MariusHornberger "it gets directly threaded in the wood where I cut threads into" - would love to see how you do that. 😁
very good video ! as always ! what is your compressor type ? model ? ... seems to have Two heads ?
IIRC it is a KnappWulf, I cannot find MH's video where he goes into more detail, but I looked this up when he mentioned it in more detail and the 69dB sticker corresponds to the fluestercompressors on KnappWulf's website
Never forget "frank howarth" CZcams woodworking channel!
Interesting video. where is Jeremy?
Danke für den guten Tipp am Ende.
Aber war es geplant, dass das Video so endet?
ja, ich hatte nichts mehr zu sagen
Time flies. What happens if you connect both ends of an air hose to an outflow?
Nothing. The hose get's pressurised, that's it
@@MariusHornberger Well that's disappointing😂
42 can't be wrong xD ghahaha
What is the tube that you have used for the air system?
off the shelf flexible tube. 15mm OD, 9mm ID
That clock falling was almost alarming.
Answer to woodchuck question: "A woodchuck would chuck wood if a woodchuck could chuck wood". (but he can't, so what's the point?)
Well, that ended abruptly! :(
You didn't mention Cosmas Bauer Channel. I would have guessed you watch it because he is also german and has the same engineering approach as you or Matthias Wandel (who also is from germany).
Check out Frank Howarth channel, workworking and Twolford Guitar repair ( also lots of woodworking) both very cool.
42, The answer to everything, but what is the question?
7:22 Manifold?
Do u watch integza?
I saw a couple of his videos
@@MariusHornberger do u have a ds acount?
@@MariusHornberger i u want i really want to talk with u
Good thing you didn't keep time in a bottle - then you would probably have broken the bottle too. And you would really have lost time all over the place. Time waits for no man!
Ich weiß nicht wieso, aber deine Videos werden mir seit ca. 6 Monaten nicht mehr angezeigt im Feed. So verpasst man doch ab und zu gute Clips! =)
Toolify hasn't posted for four years. 😕
Two things piss me off about this video, the tiny size of the fridge he plans to put on this thing and the metric units.
Seems like Kriss has abandoned his channel? He did some interesting stuff, I hope he's ok?
need to use a better type of screw Philips is terrible design. I prefer hex or Robertson (yes I'm Canadian)
A master's degree in engineering is not necessary. Sorry to tell you that.
Well seeing that you complained about metric units im just gonna assume youre not from germany, so your input about that is pretty worthless. A masters degree in germany is well worth it in most circumstances, especially because here one doesnt pay ridiculous amounts of money for it.
Can drug dogs smell nicotine?
What Marius????? You've got a GF???? Who knew lol Most of us cos I'm sure you have mentioned before in a previous video
time passing by so quickly...most of the time you cant catch it and just looking sad after it has went...
