  • In this video, I am sharing with you a couple tips and exercises that you can use to keep your larynx relaxed on high notes.
    1. Become aware of your neck & larynx
    2. Relax your jaw on high notes
    3. Relax the back of your tongue
    4. Watch the movement of your lips
    5. Lower your singing volume
    6. Visualize the falling ball - my favourite - watch the video ;)
Have fun! Love you voice! :)

Your videos are so informative, concice and well produced - more people need to discover your channel! Much better than some of the better known singing channels like Ke...

The ball thing didn’t work for me. My notes just went lower 😂😂😂😂 but the rest of the advice was great I’ll try that too

:)) Thank you for your answer. We are so different. Some people are more visual (and then the ball works :))) and some are more auditory :) Happy you liked the advice. Let me know if there are any other questions about singing that I could help you with.

Thank you for your contents and your awareness regards singers . You are very good teacher . Can you help baritones with strengthening head voice ?
Thank you 🙏 Natasha Tolle (present moment)😇

Thank you for all the nice words!!! :) I am very happy you liked the video. Good question about baritones and head voice. I would suggest exercises from top down, falsetto exercises (these can really help to release voice on high notes), and after falsetto works adding exercises with more compression. But it really depends on a singer and what kind of muscle patterns he has on high notes. Hope I answered your question. Let me know if you have any other questions. :))

Thank you Natasa! I am a soprano1 in a classical choral group. I find that opening the back of the throat and lifting the soft palate is opposite of relaxation. Is it possible to relax the tongue, jaw, neck and mouth, while also making the effort to open the back of the throat and lift soft palate at the same time?

Hi Joanne, thank you for your question! You're absolutely right; sometimes, doing too many movements can actually make us feel more tense. I believe it's really important to remember that these movements should be very small. I often say, "Singing is about millimeters, not miles." When you start thinking this way, you won't overextend your throat or raise your palate too much. It's more about maintaining a natural body position and making small adjustments. This approach also makes it easier to relax your tongue, jaw, and neck. I hope this advice helps you. Let me know if you have any other questions. Best, Natasa

@@natasanahtigal24 thank you for the generosity of your time and answering my question. I will keep this in mind to not overextend.👍

Hi, thank you for your message. 😊 I will record video about that soon;))) How did the problems start? Were you sick or did you do some extreme singing?

@natasanahtigal24 hi.. yah I am not a trained singer.. I started training myself with a musician since last few months.. but maybe because of poor technique I have ended up completely in a confused situation.. even my speaking voice is affected and has become hoarse.. now I am on voice rest for 80% of the day but waiting to see any improvement.. earlier it was like if I stop singing for 4 days the voice would come to normal but this time it is almost 15 days.. pl guide me..

Hello, thank you for your reply. Sometimes working with recorded scales or a musician who is not a vocal coach is not the best for singers. The scales or exercises might be too high or hard for a singer, causing them to push their voice to reach the notes. It is important to be aware of how you feel while training your voice and to stop if you feel uncomfortable. Don't push it. Love your voice, and first explore the notes that are easy for you to sing, then gradually extend your range. I will talk about this topic in my CZcams live Q&A this week. Will share it with you. Wish you all the best! :) And let me know how your voice feels today. :)
