This is great and all, but just from watching this trailer I can already tell that it's not going to show enough of Renee's story and her struggle, and ultimately her redemption. If you guys are interested in the REAL story, as told by Renee, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND picking up a book called "Purpose For The Pain". It's Renee's photocopied journals from when she was going through the roughest times in her life. It's raw and it's pure emotion. I am excited for the movie, though. At least it will send a message to those who are currently struggling that there is hope and that recovery is possible.

I remember the first time I watched this movie...I had to pause it because I bawling so hard about 40 minutes in. After it was over, I immediately went to the website and wrote them an email about my struggles with depression and my disorder...I’ve never felt so loved in my entire lifetime from one single reply. It gave me hope and helps me whenever I feel low. Recovery is possible.
Loved this movie, almost cried on a few parts because I can relate. I'm glad they finally made a movie about depression, drugs, and cutting, it happens to a lot of people but no one ever wants or feels comfortable talking about it because they feel or think that people like us are crazy. And we kind of are at the moment, because we aren't ourselves and aren't thinking straight because our depression is clouding our minds and making us do things we normally wouldn't do. But that shouldn't mean that people shouldn't try to help in some way or talk about it. I've been clean for almost a year now(from cutting) I'm still depressed and I still think about cutting a lot but that's just part of recovery. Your going to have to live with that part of yourself for the rest of your life. Some days will be easier than others and yes there will be a time when we will relapse but I believe that we can always get back on our feet if we choose to.

There is another movie, it's called suicide room, it's a polish movie. And it's really good. I recommend you watch it :) Sadly the ending isn't as happy.

But there's music from Between The Trees! Disbanded now, but Ryan Kirkland (the lead singer) was/is Renee's friend and helped her through hard times. 2 of the songs are about her too: The Way She Feels and A Time for Yohe. She wrote about him/them in her journal book Purpose for the Pain, also. It's triggering and took me a hell of a time to get through because of it, but it's good, nonetheless. The amount of times I've watched this movie within the past few months is uncanny. Definitely a must-see if you have any mental illness. It will show you that there is hope. Recovery is possible.

Watched this on my flight home from NY and I was sobbing like a little child, the people around me probably thought I was insane, but it was just so easily relatable that I couldn't hold it in! *Note to self: If you're planning on watching this, don't do it on a plane...or anywhere in public aside from a cinema.
i loved the movie. seriously! no i m not a drug addict and i do not know how exactly know how it feels. but i would really like to say that life is hard fr everyone, it is never easy, and we all should just try to take the negativity out of it and use the love and positivity to improve it and help others!
this movie is not only for the one's who are addicted but also for their friends and family, as they also need to learn how to support and help their loved ones.

I've waited so long for this movie. Can't wait till it comes out! I'm so stoked about everything. From "Renee" to "Day One" to "To Write Love On Her Arms" ... I think any of those names could've fit, but nonetheless, I think the actors/actresses match the characters spot on. Minus British David McKenna, even though I know they liked him British and didn't want to change it. So excited to hear Between The Trees music and see Ryan Kirkland in it. Read the book already..took hella long for me to get through it because it was triggering, but I know it's gonna be awesome! Renee's band (Bearcat)'s music is in it too! ;)

I'm 21, when I was in middle school I suffered severe depression, cutting my arms into oblivion! There was a day when I did it in front of my father, I literally cried for help! With a lot of guidance and help sometimes sincere I got better! I found the website when I was 14 years old, and never ever harmed myself again. I owe my life to this foundation. I still have my sweater from when I was in the 8th grade, holes in it and all I'll wear it on my darkest of days.
Definitely a MUST watch movie :D
Renee is an inspiration and if you've ever seen Bearcat live you'd understand why this movie means so much to people.

some peaple don't know that they need help but when they do they ask for help sometimes they get the help that they need sometimes they don't but this movie can help the peaple that have asked for help but have been rejected give them hope this movie is meaningful they didn't make this movie for entertainment they made this movie to reach out a helping hand and I give it 10/10

This was one of the movies leaked during the SONY hack so I have seen it, and let me tell you this movie is INCREDIBLE! I totally wanna see it again when it comes out in march. Kat dennings is such a good actress, and I like seeing her in serious roles. :)

I apologize for the darkness my depression, anxiety, and addiction has cast over my youngest child. She is this beautiful, special, kind and giving oh and brave too, person I know. In spite of the the damage i have done. I dont know how to reach her.I fear that I will only let her down again, and I am mostly such a coward to even try. We live in the same home but it feels like she's a million miles away. One thing I feel is that she needs me, or will need me, maybe that's just arrogance or wishful thinking. No matter I love her with all my heart and I will be here when that dau comes.

This was not a particularly well-cut together trailer but I like Kat Dennings and it's nice to see her lead a film, so I'll give this a try.
Before they got a new director, they had different clips/trailers, so this one is completely cut/edited new. Kat Dennings is a wonderful actress and I've read the book (Purpose for the Pain), which is of Renee Yohe's journals, kind of outlining her story and just from seeing the (old/no longer on CZcams) clips, I can tell she's going to do a fantastic job. Renee was also there during set filming and had a say of what went a certain way.. Like helping/redirecting her past, almost.

I'm personally really excited about this film, and have been waiting for it for a while.
I've read a few comments suggesting that the film romanticizes mental illness and substance abuse, but I could argue otherwise - particularly because the story itself is true.What's more, it seems to be an honest portrayal of said true story.
I've listened to Renee speak and I've read the story several times, and I can honestly say that there is nothing romantic about this story. It hurts and it's harsh, but it's true. It's sincere and it's raw, and the trailer seems to portray that well. I feel like there's a lot of hope emphasized in the trailer, because hope is a really thing. It's big and fierce, and what's more, it's tangible. I really like the line "I think what this whole thing is about is when I finally asked my friends for help, I got it," because we can get help when we ask for it most of the time. Granted, we don't always ask, but when we do, more times than not - we get it. Hope is real, and what is more, it's tangible in the form of the love we find in our friendships and relationships with people.

When they go to the concert, it would be soo much better if they could have shown between the trees playing. And they should definitely have renee hear the song "the way she feels" by between the trees. It's all about her.
