Well she's up there, I'm Swedish and she's one of my favourites but ABBA "Waterloo" is considered the best but a bit out of date. 3 more has been discussed as the best. Johnny Logan "What's Another Year" and "Hold me now" and Cliff Richard "Congratulations", okay dated but when we talk about big hits we must count them in although they are Irish and English. Another interesting thing is that Ireland and Sweden has won ESC 7 times each. It's a freindly competition between us and Ireland going on. And for you who are young, try to listen to at least "What's Another Year"💕

She won the whole contest and she won big, She got 12 points from 18 Countries which is record in the History of Eurovision. This is one of my favorite songs we have won with. (another cool stage performance is Heroes with Måns Zelmerlöw) She actually have Berb roots , a group of People that lives in Marocko but she was born in Sweden. Was soo proud to be Swedish when she won the contest and I liked her voice, like you said the simple performance on stage, she did not have to relay on being sexy or show much of her body, she simply relied on her own amazing voice :-D.

Her parent are from Morocco: Amazigh people. Or in Arabic, Berber. Her real name: Lorine Zineb Nora Talhaoui.
''Loreen was born in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1983 to Moroccan Berber immigrant parents. She was raised in a liberal Muslim household. Early in her life, Loreen moved to Västerås. She grew up there, and calls Västerås her hometown. She spent most of her teenage years in Gryta, a residential area in Västerås.''

Swedish music is not new territory for you, you just don't know that you've heard a lot of Swedish music all your life :) Sweden is one of the three largest net exporters of music, like 50 of the biggest song writers in the world are Swedes. The US Billboard Chart has sometimes been occupied by over 50% music that has been created by Swedes.
Some famous musicians that has got some of their greatest song from Swedish producers and song writers are Ariana Grande, Coldplay, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Justin Timberlake, Backstreet Boys, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, One Direction, Maroon 5, Pink, Britney Spears, Madonna, Ellie Goulding, Jonas Brothers and many more.
You've probably heard "Baby one more time" (Britney Spears), "I kissed a girl" (Katy Perry), "Poker face" (Lady Gaga), "Bye bye bye" (N'Sync) and "I want it that way" (Backstreet Boys".
Tip: Loreen won again this year, with the song "Tattoo". You should check it out, it's not as good as "Euphoria" but it's Swedish so it has to be good, right?... ;)

You have heard swedish singers and groups 100s of them. You have also heard big hits written by swedish producers and composers to your world stars like Britney, Madonna, Westlife and many more. Sweden is on your Billboard 100s every week in some way and has been there since "Hooked on a feeling" and then ABBA, Roxette and so on. Look at the latest Zara Larsson "Love me land" or Chris Kläfford, there are many more that you've heard but didn't realise they were Swedes.
Look up our producers/composers Alexander Kronlund, Anders Bagge, RedOne, Robyn, Denniz Pop, Max Martin, Tove Lo, Avicii RIP, Swedish House Maffia and many more. Look at the hits they have created and after that tell me that your not familiar to Swedish music. Swedes starts singing when we are born, we sing at dinners, parties, allsong and choir. Music is mandatory subjekt in our groundschools (9 years) also take a look further down what the Swedes are telling you, read what Pernilla Karlsson said.
Greetings from Sweden where 20% of GDP comes from music. ❤

And to think the Brits STILL take the piss out of Eurovision!!! Learn from all the other countries that enter quality songs each year , Loreen was amazing & if the UK made an effort like they did in 2009 ( they came 5th) they would do well and stop blaming political voting you enter crap that's why you finish so low & look out 2019 winner Arcade Duncan Lawrence beautiful song & the other Dutch entry in 2014 which was a top 10 hit even in the UK.
