Worst injury from a raccoon yet!

- A protective mother raccoon teaches me a lesson for getting way too close to her and her babies. Sometimes, I forget that not all raccoons are as friendly as Cutie Monster. The protective mom did nothing wrong. This was my fault. I learned a valuable lesson, and my scars are a reminder.

You often hear that raccoons don't come back and have probably changed their territory. Some leave and new ones come.Raccoons can also show their teeth if you get too close to their babies. I saw this recently where a raccoon lunged forward like a snake and bit someone on the hand because the raccoon was harassing it too much.😁
This oon charged me like a bear. If I didn't jump over the tree, I'm not sure what would happen. I get over confident
It's depressing that you got attacked, but like you said in the description, not every racoon is as friendly, or knows you as much as Cutie-Monster, hopefully the wound doesn't get infected though

get a small swimming round pool for a child (plastic) 5'/5' and fill it to the top- it worked for me. they will love it!

Look for Magic Mushrooms, if you see any, get some gloves & plastic bag to SAFELY dispose of them. Last year Jim had a baby that was acting drunk at best. He & Angie didn't video the incident, they were concerned about a very bad outcome. Fortunately the baby survived & learned never to make the same mistake twice, smarter than a human. Jim checked part of the woods the next morning & found some. Being retired cop, he knew immediately what happened the night before.

Glad you found the shirt. Just had another wild encounter moments ago. A huge branch came crashing down with raccoons. I slowly approached while mommy was gathering up the babies. Everyone seemed ok, complete miracle, but mom chased me off down the hill. I suddenly forgot I had a bad leg and ran like the wind.... lol 😆

According to city law, no animals other than small birds can be fed.
