I see some of the lyrics from "The Endless Knot" are also in here. Or maybe the other way around. Either way, I'm not sick of them one bit!
Maybe, repeating their own song and putting it in with other old bands, this is their way of saying that they wish that they were in the 80s as well? Just a thought.
EDIT: "The Endless Knot" came after this in the album, so maybe instead, that song reflects back on this one to increase the effect of time repeating itself.

MiniWheatDuo it kind of shows how times change. In this track it says “their designs, shifting frame by frame” but then when time passes and in the present i.e in endless knot the lyrics are “our designs, shifting frame by frame”. In 1985 it’s narrated how the whole cycle can be started again just by blurring the lines whereas in endless knot they’ve been caught up with the world so much that they’ve realised that this cycle has started to fail.

I never listened to "metal" until now. Always disliked it, listened to a lot of Lo-fi and Jazz. When a friend introduced to me I was blown away. As a drummer this drew me in with the insane time signatures, and the mellow parts of this song are awesome.

And if you want more bands that fall more under prog metal (TYS isn't metal as much as I think you'd like them from you listening to jazz), I could offer some of those too
