The displeased bird around 18:55 sounded like a robin. About as dangerous as the N. water snake. This video brings back childhood memories of wading all the local creeks long before having a driver's license. I don't doubt for a minute there is probably a 3#+ fish somewhere in there. Thanks for stirring up the memories. Catching bait and fishing go hand in hand and is half the fun (sometimes).

Thanks for the video Spencer I grew up chasing fish up small creeks,a lot of which was for trout but same difference.when I upgraded to bigger species like carp and bass and other pan fish I had a blast doing so,brings back some good ol memories 🤙

The flatheads in the Great Miami River love or loved those little channels like that, that was back in the late 90’s early 2000’s though, hadn’t done much fishing in there since, what a bummer too, big bummer!
I heard it wasn't what it used to be (maybe from you). Bummer fir sure, but that's the way fishing goes sometimes unfortunately.

I just watched Dieters episode on paylakes, but I telling him about the Great Miami and how guys are catching the bigger or big flatheads and then selling them to the local paylakes, I believe that’s the main thing that’s happened to the Great Miami. Finally got to watch your video…. I love the mixup. That looks like a great place to fish for bait fish. I ran out of Fallfish ( skipjack ) however I have some fresh frozen sunfish.
I showed a few people my catches including the huge Northern Pike and my personal best Channel. Now they want to go fishing with me lol. I’m a loner but maybe I will take one and see how it goes.

LOL! I have been having the worst issues at the worst times while trying to record my attempts at fishing of late. That ending has happened quite a few times of late.
Ive learned fishing for panfish, if i dont get a bite in 15 seconds or less im not deep enough or in the wrong spot. They like to be close to the bank up under rocks and cover.
Went to my easy access spot the other night to get a feel for the bite and see if it was worth the work getting out to the good spots. Soon as my bait hit the water I hooked up to a 48 lb flatty and successfully landed him on 20 lb test. Needless to say I didn't bother going anywhere else lol.

I was trying to fish for cat at the lake and I kept getting turtled. Speaking of finding free stuff, I found a pair of those croc shoes, a foot ball, a fly fishing rod and reel combo with rod sleeve, money, lures. People leave stuff at the lake all the time.
Those were some slammer creek chubs.

On my most recent fishing trip with my uncle, we found some ones hat and a walleye tied to a stringer. Now that im typing this out it really doesnt sound to good 😅

"Havent lost my mind yet" The lie detector has determined, That's a lie!". Otherwise, I love fishing for all sorts of baits/dinks in tiny creeks like that. I can burn a whole day doing it easily. I'd walk creek systems like that one as a kid, pack me up a few cold cut sammiches, grab a few little hugs drinks or capri suns, grape big league chew, grab the dog and be gone till dark.
I got a Engel bait cooler the other day from the bait shop, 19q. Things awesome.

I knew an old timer who used weedwhacker line as leader line. Swore by it.
I went out and got some dinner cats today, where I live there’s not many giants they put some 28k channel cats in my lake yearly and black them in a channel for a weekend for kids to learn how to fish you catch channel cats every 5 minutes all day if your trying but there like 5lb and less because of it. Good time on bass rods tho lol

Enjoyed this one man! Quick question. Are you legally able to run a seine net in your state? I have lived in Florida for years, but when I lived in Wisconsin & did a ton of catfishing, I always ran a seine net in smaller creeks to get suckers for bait. Worked amazing!
Yeah, I just rarely have someone around to help me run one. I know there's ways to do it solo, it's just not as effective
@RiverCertified Yeah running one solo sucks to say the least. I always ran a 12 or 14 footer with a buddy. Suckers were almost guaranteed if we walked the net up to deeper grassy banks.

As I’ve said in the past I grew up cat fishing but never caught a flathead and they are in my river I’ve seen you rig live bait in the tail and through the lips could you clarify why when and where or does it not matter when it comes to flathead cat fish
