With seasons 3 and 4 being ordered together, there's a bit more of a throughline to work with, hence the introduction of Kuvira midway through, but they still interfered with scheduling and location of release when it was being first aired (they tried to put it on the Nick website a few times, rather than the actual network/the subnetworks like TeenNick)
Season 3 also abandoned (finally) the love storylines of the principal cast, and focused on expanding lore in all directions nearly constantly (versus the small bursts we got in season 2 with Wan and Vaatu)

There's actually a really wholesome explination as to why we dont typically see airbenders flying anymore.
As seen in Avatar wan's flashback, all airbenders actually used to be able to fly without their gliders, that's how they went to and from their lion turtle. The whole philosophy for weightlesness/flight as stated by guru laghima is detachment, and so the reason most airbenders can't fly is because they're now permenantly bonded to the sky bison! I lost my dad to cancer 16 years ago when I was a teen. Sadly I don't have many memories of him anymore, but one thing I'll never forget was our goodbye aswell. He stayed at home until the very end and even though the disease took most of him in the months and weeks leading up to his passing, he also had this moment where he got up on the couch and looked straight into my & my sister's eyes one last time, before we hugged him. Life is really, really awful sometimes and it's never easy, but this love we all have to cherish forever. Our loved ones are always with us. I don't know what else to say. Take care everyone 💜

I wish all humans could be more loving and compassionate towards each other. Not just to our families, or those we have a personal connection to.
At the end of the day, no matter what our differences are, we are all people. We all have the same spirit. I don't know how people can go out into the world and intentionally cause harm to other people... When you're hurting someone, remember that they are human, they have a heart, they have their own feelings, their own wants and desires, dreams and aspirations... And somebody loves them.
We're all capable of feeling these things, we can all connect emotionally, and relate to each other. Even as complete strangers. We are all connected and we all should take care of each other and support each other.
I love everybody, and I would never put another person in any kind of pain for my own personal benefit. I will always do whatever I can to help those who need it. I just don't understand how someone could hurt another person, another living being, willingly...
I just wish everyone could see the world as I do. To see beyond our physical differences... To look on all of humanity with love.

When you talked about watching your sister's condition deteriorate... it reminds me of my dad. It'll be 3 years this May, that my father passed away from cancer. He underwent chemo and it was just too strong for him. He was cleared to go home in late April but he couldn't eat and had no appetite so over the next few weeks he deteriorated before our eyes. I think, to this day, that he had multiple organ failure and possibly a stroke the day he died (given a few symptoms) given his rapid deterioration but I'll never know for sure.
Watching Korra's pain and rage about her father dying (at least that's what she thought) always hurts for those reasons.

It was so vague in that format that it appeared to just be a silly choice of image that effectively gave us no glimpse at all.

Bolin remembers every time Mako seemed like a superhero when they were kids.
Memories quickly go through Bolin's mind of all the times Mako fought when they were homeless kids, bigger people, when they were outnumbered, against all odds.
In this moment Bolin understood that it's his time to protect those he loves and steps forward.

Btw, that water lady's "octopus move", this is just my mind, not some official thing. I think it startled Kaya because if we think back to ATLA it was sort of Katara's signature master move, that she got better and better with, started with the waterbending scroll and the "water whip" and each season she kept improving on it. And this supervillain just did an even bigger more complex version. So the feeling I got was the same way Tenzin measures himself against Aang, Kaya must also look up to her famous mom, and this supervillain just pulled up with a stronger version of her mom's signature move.

My sister put in the work but the seventh (each of them different) cancer came on quickly. From self exam to staging confirmation to inflammatory breast cancer experimental treatment to funeral, it was only 4 months from no visible sign to the end. I was pulling my full time work then driving 2 hours to help with the kids and what she needed for her treatment and catching some sleep on her couch before driving back and doing it all again. Eventually I would stay over in hospice on a roll out a few nights a week just so when she had a middle of the night wake up in pain or afraid she could hear my voice and settle down to sleep again. She was very out of it and permasleeping in the last week on the medication, but I got a 3am phonecall from her hospice bedside phone where she was very lucid, though sounding younger than I could remember her ever sounding, asking me where everyone was because time dilation was making it feel like months since she'd seen anyone. I explained her husband and the kids had been there a few hours before, and I had been there at lunch time. She asked if she was somewhere she was safe, and for a second I struggled how to answer, but then I half lied and told her yes. Because she was still high as a kite on hospice meds and trying to rationalize her way back to lucidity, she then asked if her nurses were really dinosaurs or if that was just the hospital drugs, and I let her know that no dinosaurs were allowed in the building or her room, so the nursing staff had all been checked out and verified as dinosaur free. I knew as we were having the conversation that it would probably be the last one I got, and that she called me because she needed someone she could trust on the dinosaur question.
Her friends told me she had an unexpected 2 or 3 hour visit talking with her kids and friends the next day while I was at work - awake, bright, and conversational. Later the following morning she was gone.
One of the doctors had previously told me that she had asked a nurse a few days prior to my visit, "do I have a brother?" It was, I expect, a way to communicate to me how far gone or deteriorated she was. Maybe they thought it would help me in the process. I can't speak for them, I don't know. But what it told me in the moment was that they didn't understand her like I did, and so they didn't see it for what it was - her fighting to hang on through the medication and the pain in order to claw back to the important things she wanted to hang onto and remember. She had previously described me as her rock, and it did bring me a kind of unintended comfort that even when I couldn't physically be there in that moment when she was adrift and feeling lost ... she could still find me in the fog as safe, dry land. We take the moments we can get.
