Thank you, Annie, for so clearly articulating the difference between tasks and projects. I'm studying David Allen's system using his book, Ready for Anything. It has 52 very short and concise chapters, making it ideal for a quick weekly read. He calls the tasks of a project "next actions". "What is the next action I need to take to move this project forward?" That takes the overwhelm out of the equation. The next action can be as simple as moving my supplies into place. Or writing the phone number down. I like your idea of have a place to work out the steps of a specific project. Where one can easily access it. These topics are so helpful. Much appreciated.

This video was excellent. I knew the difference between a project and a task but struggled to incorporate the projects into my planner to plan well. This was so helpful. Thank you!!

Thank you for this video! This really helped me with something I was stuck on and I’ve now made significant progress by mapping the whole project out and breaking it down into smaller tasks.

Paused when you showed the planner. It was very easy to identify. Plan summer vacation is not a task, it's a project. You need more than one step to plan a vacation. Like collect ideas, define what you want and need, find a location, compare prices etc. etc.
I personally keep projects and tasks together intentionally. I list the project name on the top as title and then the tasks needed to be done beneath. That way I find things faster. I also have more than one project listed at all times. Like my master list for decluttering. Each room is a subproject and there are tasks to fulfill in each room.
Edit: I still keep the project name on a sticky note that I move from day to day as a reminder. Since my project is on a different page, I do need that.

Easy to ID but I fall into this trap - a project that keeps being forwarded from week to week and I lose hope and I do not move forward. Great advice.

Thank you for this topic! I am a teacher on summer break, and it is July 6th, which means it is time for me to start looking at the summer projects I need to get finished so I can walk into the classroom feeling ahead of the game. Once the year starts, I feel like I’m constantly drowning! I loved the way you wrote down questions to help you plan out the project! That really helped me start thinking about what I want to have done by August 9th when I report back to school.

Also a teacher….only teachers understand that after the first day it’s quick sand if you aren’t prepared…I share your sentiment!

This is the perfect topic for me. I mixed that up for the longest time. I was especially confused with the difference between recurring and repeating tasks. I always thought “update this list/ blog post” was something I only had to do once in an eternity BUT I have to update them EVERY SINGLE TIME I publish something new. 😮 Thank you for this video which I’m watching in my break between my morning routine and my deep work session. Have a great weekend 🌷

Hmm? 🤔 I'm thinking post on Instagram would be a project, too. Plan a topic, write a caption, take a photo/ video, edit, post, and double check. 💖🌞🌵😷

The video I didn’t know I needed 😁. I DEFINITELY know the difference between tasks and projects but I am DEFINITELY listing everything out as to dos and am just now realizing I move MANY things from week to week or really just forget about them, purposefully 😂 A couple of examples are “get children ready for back to school” or “setup courses for the fall”. I even realized that although I have “setup Business 101” I need to break that down even further and more importantly take it out of the regular to do list.
Thanks a bunch! LOVE your planing style and btw I am LOVINGGG my AE B6 🫶🏾 I’ll be a planning pro when 2025 rolls around.
