I've seen them play in Vienna and they actually let a fan play Rob's part. Only the second time I've seen him sing without a guitar and the first time was after Supercharger in a small club...
@@maccrazy7335 the last show on the tour for Unto the Locust finished up in Melbourne had Robb just singing too, the guys from Hatebreed and Bleeding Through came out and did vocals with Robb while Wayne from Hatebreed played Robb's guitar to close with Davidian. That was a badass gig

@@Myfartslinger well robb and jared are still in but they found replacements for a new line up . the last album Catharsis came out last year and wasnt so great . however if robb can get them on track i think they can make a killer new album .
Following the death of Dimebag Darryl a pastor wrote he desevered it because he lived a sinfull life. This song is Machine Head reaction.
Gerrit Breet I saw them live in 07 with Gojira Trivium and Lamb of God. They were touring for this album The Blackening and read what was published and the whole crowd was ready to charge the stage until he said fuck that guy then they played this song. Hands down best show I’ve been to yet. Also, it was the first time I ever herd them and Gojira. Bought their albums from the merch table after each set.

@@ThroughBlindEyesDru1 I went to a show on the same tour back in the day, crazy. Front row center at Lupos in RI, awesome show. Gojira was super underrated at the time too, I had only heard a few songs by them back then.
Machine Head has been one of my favorite bands for 20+ years. They're amazing.
This song means so much more when you learn that it was written in response to a diatribe someone put out after Dimebag Darrell's murder, calling him and his fans animals who were an affront to music. The article was called "Aesthetics of Hate", so Machine Head wrote this song as a giant middle finger to him for disrespecting a metal icon.
And in turn united the entire metal community because you won't mess with us metalheads.

@@4tr0phy not at all. Talking about the origins of the song & why it was written gives the song context. Not to mention it brought the entire metal community together when it was initially released. And it's my all-time favorite song of theirs.

This song is from their best album imo. I think it was voted the best album of the 2000-2010 decade by metalhammer magazine (not that it matters)
Lots of American bands are popular in the UK.
The difference is that Machine Head are far more popular in the UK than in the US.
Also popular throughout Europe really.

Machine Fucking Head!!!! Always a great band live. Search Machine Head in Buffalo NY. They brought a 13 yr old kid on stage to play this song. Anthony kicked ass on the guitar.

Robb Flynn wrote the lyrics after reading an newspaper article from a man who slammed and disparaged the reputation of Dimebag Darrell shortly after his death. Yes, he was quite pissed off. Lol

The middle part of this song is one of the best pieces of Metal I've ever heard. The whole album is pure brilliance. Would love to see more of Machine Head on your channel! I'd love to see a reaction to #MachineHead - Darkness Within in particular. An anthem to the healing power of music.

This song was a response to a very unflattering & negative article released after Dimebag's death on him and the metal community...in all honesty this song and Black Label Society's In This River are the 2 most iconic(my opinion) tributes to Dimes life after the traumatic way he died...Machine Head have many many great songs but their 1st 2 albums (Burn My Eyes & The More Things Change) and this album ( The Blackening) are the best of their catalog
Excellent song request Eric🤘🏽 first time I saw Machine Head was In Anaheim in 2008 and they were opening for Hellyeah. Let me put it this way. At least for that night, it should have been Hellyeah opening up for Machine Head. I still remember Machine Head’s set that night but not Hellyeah’s.

This song was written about some asshole who wrote a blog post trashing Pantera's murdered guitarist Dimebag Darrell and metal fans in general; calling them all scum and neanderthals.
Machine Head vocalist Robb Flynn read the article and was so enraged by what this person had written that he wrote this song about it.
Also the album this song comes from, 'The Blackening' is one of the greatest metal albums of all time. Other great Machine Head songs are 'Davidian', 'A Nation on Fire', 'Clenching The Fists of Dissent', 'Block' and many more. Just avoid anything from the 'Supercharger' album.

I pulled this from a website that pulled it from Wikipedia, and sourced it back to the original comment Rob Flynn made. This is the story of the song.
"Aesthetics of Hate" was written by Machine Head vocalist and guitarist Robb Flynn. It was written as a retaliation to an article by William Grim for the web site Iconoclast. Titled "Aesthetics of Hate: R.I.P. Dimebag Abbott, & Good Riddance", Grim wrote the article stating Darrell was "part of a generation that has confused sputum with art and involuntary reflex actions with emotion", "an ignorant, barbaric, untalented possessor of a guitar" who looks "more simian than human".[1]
After reading the article, Flynn was furious and wrote "Aesthetics of Hate" as a condemnation of Grim's article, and Dimebag detractors.

All that you know is teaching prejudice, and your heart is as black as the 'ignorant, filthy, and hideously ugly, heavy metal fans' you try and paint in your twisted, fictitious ramblings. One of the greatest albums ever.... Machine Head were/is awesome.... I think they broke up. Not entirely sure about that though..... Their last album wasn't that great. They have some classics though. Davidian, Old, Imperium, Ten Ton Hammer, Now we die, locust, darkness within, I am hell, Halo..... Good band.

Yeah a lot of #MachineHead pummels you like that. I loved the first album with tracks like Davidian, Blood For Blood, Old or Real Eyes Realize Real Lies, "Burn My Eyes" was a killer debut album. It got heavy rotation at metal parties and in my store back in the day. I still like to listen to it now and those songs are in my Spotify playlist.
I may not comment on every video but I do watch 99% of them.

This one is their best album since their debut. Not their best by a mile but a short intense song. MH was a good band until their last two records. Try Davidian from their debut album, that one is their signature song.
Machine head are the only band in my opinion to getting near Metallica’s first four albums with their albums burn my eyes, the blackening and unto the locust🤘🏻
