Amazing as always, thank you for the builds. 2 things: When you go into power guard, tap and hold to charge your attack while guarding. If nothing attacks you during the time, you'll still get a damage bonus from charging the attack. You can side hope while you are charging toward the enemy

You forgot to mention the triple hit Leaping Thrust. After a block you immediately swipe in any direction and tap to perform a leaping thrust. Nobody ever shows the leaping thrust in these guides

Thank you sincerely for such a concise guide! As someone who only just swapped to the lance from the light bowgun, I am definitely taking quite a while to adjust to not being able to simply dodge out of the way and be safe from a distance. Nevertheless, I love the lance's aesthetic, so I'll be doing my best to learn how to use it effectively. Thank you so much again!
Well I got to say that the best thing out of this patch is the diablos dual blade. Other than that I don't know I just finished the second part of the quest line. The set sucks aside from the chest piece that has special skill. They look awesome tho. I'd expect more from a new tier. The old sets are way more versatile and have more combos.
- you didn't notice normal guard and power guard have perfect guard, normal guard can receive small damage, and power guard is same if not do perfect timing - sometime power guard not do counter thrust cause too flinch from very strong attack of monster - normal guard does 3 counter thrust but you need to tap it, and you can dash in front or back to perform it
you didn’t notice that this is a beginners guide 🙃 I don’t cover leaping strike and advance guard builds on purpose. Your beginner player isn’t going to have access to Guard 3, Offensive Guard, and resentment.

I agree with you about perfect guard and some advantage tip of power guard, but you need explain about normal guard and how it perform counter thrust instead power guard, I'm newbie at Lance also, learn something from your video, but see something you need explain to newbie
I think the best build so far for this weapon is Offensive guard at least at lv3, lock on, Guard lv3 is a must to be able to guard every attack in the game from mosters just like Ratian Fire Ball and Rathalos Fire ball, and for the weapon use an elemental weapon, there is a gloves that has Offensive guard lv2 + Tremor, tremor is really good as well for a Lance
as a lance main i can be sure guard is not mandatory in main series. hop lancing is a thing and lance is a very mobile weapon. just is is not easy to do it. triple back hop is enough to evade teostra self blast, multiple back hop is amazing.
That’s because you can move in multiple directions and change directions to hop out of moves. You can’t do that in now so you have to make up for it by guarding. Don’t fit the argument to your narrative either 😂 when you can’t hop out of any more you DEFINITELY use guard to make up for the short mobility 🤫
For sure that's where your damage is gonna come from without optimal armor sets. Your damage can ramp up with good supporting equipment skills. But the ones you need like resentment, offensive guard, etc. aren't easily accessible from the beginning.

@KINGOFCHARMANDERS this isn't a mainline MH game where there are 100s of combos. There's not that many moves. So yes you should include it all

It really does haha. It also doesnt help we dont have more storage space either.

I tried lance for the first time and one thing i noticed, most of your damage comes from counter/perfect guard and the special skill.
