Love what you’re putting out, man! Was just able to beat vanilla game this year and I’m looking at comp!
Thanks to all your knowledge and videos I was finally able to beat the game for the first time with a Gobi. Looking at trying a Jell next. Maybe one day I'll look into joining competitive.
Hell yeah you love to see it
My favorite monster, Hare, still rocking everyone with those boxing and kungfu.
Oh man, my boy Mock is not looking so well, Henger may be my favorite but Mock was always a close second, I mean the whole process for unlocking him was amazing, I loved that tree that grew from the seeds, and was sad when it died, but then after losing a monol, I came back to the farm and boom, the dead tree was not so dead after all haha, man those were the days, the internet was still considered fringe so not all of the hidden monster requirements to unlock were well known...
Speaking of which, does anyone else remember some of the bogus monsters that turned out not to be true? Like there is this one that has stuck with me since the beginning of MR, it was suppose to be another "undead type" monster like ghost, but to get this monster, you had to build a gravestone for the recently departed monster, and when asked to clean it, deny the request, after so many years, the "Grave Moss/Tombstone" would come alive when Holly or Colt(I think it was MR1 but could have been MR2) would clean it anyway. This "Grave Moss/Tombstone" monster is for me, the Monster Rancher version of how to get Mew(three), as it seemed so believable, and even doable, yet turned out to be bogus, there was no Mew under the truck, and there was no haunted Grave Moss/Tombstone Monster... Still, doesn't mean I didn't spend many hours trying, and I only really gave up when my friend brought his GameShark over, and even it showed that it did not exist in the games files.
Never heard of that one but you should check out the metalner video if you're into rumours about the game!
Kinda sounds like the process for earning doodle from a sabotaged fame Monol
Arrow Head and Dragon had quite the glow up from Vanilla
I only played the normal story and fought with golems there. It was never a threat for me because all their attacks miss but of course, they are more likely poor built. Now I feel like building one knowing that he actually has potential
Golem is extremely powerful and seem like they were designed with the idea that youll never raise their skill. A golem with high skill is terrifying.
I agree mostly with that tier. Some few comments :
1. Some breeds of Naga are practically broken is true. Naga/Gali or Naga/Tiger is absolutely ridiculous. My goals for that breed is to get eye beam as soon as possible and you could watch them wreck shit like Kato with his Twister Claw left and right. I think the Level A Naga enemy (Sharkin) is spot on with his build.
2. I think Joker should be in S with Naga. Joker is very unplayable and his REAL skill is just ridiculous. Joker/Tiger is pretty broken and Joker/Dragon will delete everything enemy sent at you. They are very simple and easy to use. You just need to combine and make Joker/Tiger evil at first and turn it back to Good later on.
3. Im quite curious why do you put Durahan after Arrow Head. I agree both should be A+, but i kinda want your opinion on this. On balance i think Durahan is better with base stats and base gains. AH have so many tech trees so it would be difficult to train it.
4. I think Monol should be in B tier. Henger obviously better than it, their techs are very similar and Henger is a dodge machine. It's actually very easy to raise Henger with many 999s. Kinda want your opinions on this also.
5. You make Niton a B? By experience it should be C/D IMO. Not worth training those guys, their bases are too terrifyingly bad.
The competitive meta is drastically different from casual single player gameplay
@@Moosebones Come to think of it, i'm indeed a casual player. Maybe need to check on what metas are now. Thanks for the info.
Oooo that Karin theme!
Do you have a tier list for normal gameplay? Or does it make a difference?
Monsters that spam their bad moves like wracky and ducken become top tier again.
That and monster with moves that are good but very specific in when you want to use them improve most.
Imagine how scary ArrowHead would be with a fast guts rate
I kinda think it would be GOOD but the game would be worse off for it, not because "lol OP" but like. Half the fun of arrowhead is having your monster play methodically it's so much fun to watch. Giving arrowhead a fast gutsrate would make him kinda bunga and a bit less charming i think
You think you'll do another list that all about the different combinations and where they rank on the list?
Idk if i have it in me to rank 408 monsters LOL
@@Moosebones 408?!
o.O
O.o
@@Moosebones just rank the 300 or so viable options for each division!
Take back what ya said about the dumpling cake Mocc Mocc!
Buuuut since Tiger is S tier, I might be forgiving.
I found my Switch! Hehehe, I feel like my monsters are starving like they are Digimon/tamagotchi, I know they aren’t but it still feels like I abandoned them. I more than doubled my “channel points” betting on Kamui during that one tournament it wasn’t banned. 1:17
I had this knockoff virtual pet that twice in a row i lost somewhere in my house on the 7th day and ended up finding it dead and remember being really upset about it. The third time I found out it just died after a week regardless if what you did.
I'd love to see a sneaky crab dragon win a tourny, for the lulz
SoftshellStu makes it pretty far often!
is there like a list of "best" breeds for each monster type?
Whatever has the fastest guts regeneration rate 99% of the time
When I play Monster Rancher 2, I dont even think building Phoenix as a Pow type. But Ironically its the best build.
Are you serious? How is it the best build for it?
It's basics hit hard and are accurate for their guts cost so it's very efficient@@carlodechosa4219
@@carlodechosa4219 Phoenix has (debatably) the best power techs in the game
is this on the switch or steam?? or is this cross platform
It's on both and crossplatform
Wait- "FGC background"? what did you used to play?
Played lots of stuff in my time, I played/commentated smash at the highest level out of everything Ive played but I've been playing GGST and kuso stuff lately.
@@Moosebones Hell yeah, I feel like most fgc background never really branch out or talk about the other non-fgc games they enjoy.
@@defmos630 Met so many FGC ppl who think playing games outside of their main game is a waste of time.
M tier, aka "*M*an, this is definitely the mocchi tier"
Umm, why is phoenix so high in the tier list? It literally has 4x weakness to rock type attacks.
lol fire/flying.
yeah monol & golem are super effective against phoenix. ez
Immunity to ground is big after heavy duty boots
the kato tiger i beat the game with is crying when he sees B tier
twister claw makes me think kato atleast A
@@TLO7 this is a list for competitive play, casually in the single player game Kato is a top tier monster.
its shitty for auto attacking AI tho so i understand. if u build for INT twister claw, kato just goes up and does melee punches for 3 dmg its so trash with AI
@@TLO7 in competitive play its AI vs AI and Katos power build is significantly stronger than his intelligence one in that format. Lots of cool techs on the cat.
I feel like Mock should be in the Metalner tier
Could be, who's to say?
@@Moosebonesjp is lol
I still go with Pixies. Because I'm lonely man. 😁
Fight in lowtier or use undine
