Addressing the biggest issue with Rick Owens Sneakers like the Ramones and Geobasket and how you can fix it.
Heel drag cant be fixed only prevented, so I recommend installing heel taps on your shoes if you're concerned with getting a lot of heel drag - Jak na to + styl
I recently got mine fixed at the cobbler. He had to splice the heel just because I had so much heel drag but it still looks good/adds a “worn in” look to your wardrobe that just kind of makes me respect people more when they repair their shoes/clothes

I barely even wear my geobaskets but even I have some heel drag.
It really doesn't take much, the material is so fragile that even just a handful of wears will do it. I'm amazed that to this day they still haven't addressed this and used a more durable material

I have had drkshdw babel Ramone's since 2020 as my daily shoe and they only now have any kind of semi bad heel drag. Still plenty of life even if I do nothing.
Analyzing your walking style helps, maybe doing some tweaks here and there to walk in Rick's with ease and without damaging them so quickly.

i just got rick owens dark shdws on sale for $423 and the first thing i noticed after wearing them is that the quality of the shoe isnt so good and the back of both my feet have scraped the skin off the heel part and the bottom of the shoe is already kinda messed up like how you said the rubber is like an eraser.
Is it just me or did Rick intend to use the material for that matter? I feel like Rick had already thought of this and decided to go along with it to make the shoes look “better” the more it is worn. Maybe it’s a “wear is good” typa thing, like vintage 🤔
Wear is good on a product that lasts, this is going to far honestly.
Rick 100% is aware of it since he uses a better sole on his older shoes like the dunks and I think vans and his current DRKSHDW shoes.
Makes no sense to use a material on an expensive ass shoe that wears out quicker than it needs to. Especially if the upper isn’t made shitty like the sole
It would be like having a sole made of gold specked rubber and the shittiest leather upper
@@cameron2900x 50% of the "value" of a luxury clothing item is the brand identity. People don't buy ricks looking for ideal pragmatic clothing. Lots of luxury clothing material & manufacturing DOES increase the usability of garments, however you're never going to get "$800 more quality" in your Ramones or Dunks vs a different shoe.
This is the exact reason I just can't wear any Rick shoe. I have to wear the full Rick fits with Yohji or Ann

Clear heel taps do exist. My cobbler sourced them for me and installed them on my Ramones. Id try that if they are too hard to find online.

I mean, drkshdw is a sister label not a cheaper line so drkshdw is made more for everyday use and the clothes are made for long days of listening to punkrock and drinking beer you know mainline is the more """avantgarde""" label
Mainline should use durable materials and be built to last, especially for the price. They should both be top quality and be able to withstand years of wear
@@RickOwensReviews to my understanding the mainline sacrifices durability for aesthetic and drkshdw sacrifices aesthetic for durability so if you buy Rick to wear day in and day out (and that stands the test of time (like I want) maybe drkshdw is the better choice
This seems so true to me. My geobaskets have pretty bad heel drag and I wore them far less than my drkshdw ramones which I wore religiously for 4 years. Just now finally getting the ramones repaired, but the heel drag is far less than my geobaskets despite the daily wear of my ramones.

If I have DRKSHDW Vegan Black Ramones and they already have a lil heel drag is it worth it to track down some clear heel taps to reduce it further or does it not matter at this point?

You can use superglue or any other good glue

theres probably less heel drag on drkshdws because mainline are leather and its typically heavier than canvas
the Drkshdws are actually heavier than the mainlines, the sole is much heavier

I need help, someone knows how to fix ramones to not have blisters !!! It hurts so bad and I can’t wear my ramones
You needed to go a half size or size up I don’t get blisters but my Vegan Ramones can be tight asf at times and I’m always an 8 so I got an 8/41 and they are def on the tighter side. Just make sure you wear long socks and dont tuck your pants into them if you can get away with it it should give you more breathing room

If you find a good cobbler you can get it resoled, but that's not necessarily fixing it, its altering the shoe. You cant "fix" the original shark tooth sole, once its gone its gone lol

Go to a cobbler and get a vibrant sole.
You mean vibram*. The point is that for a shoe this expensive, they should use a material that is as strong and durable as a vibram sole. Going to a cobbler to get one installed is an additional cost, alters the shoe and depending on the cobbler can ruin the shoes if its not done correctly. Its not ideal and shouldn't need to be done for a shoe of this price range.

@N0SEY The issue is every single shoe with a rubber sole has awful heel drag so the longevity for all of them is similar

Lol how don’t people know mainline is not made for the walking in the street. They are made for the runway shows and to be worn once or twice. DRKSHDW is made for everyday wear and mainline is not. There’s no point in buyin min unless ur rich. There’s two different versions with 0 clarification for money of course.
