How to identify and avoid trout spawning beds (redds)

For those of us who are lucky enough to have wild trout fisheries, it is important that we do our part to protect them. Fishing to stressed spawning trout or crushing their buried eggs are ways you can negatively impact a fishery. In this video, we teach you how to identify spawning trout and the spawning beds (redds) that they construct so you can give them the space they deserve.

Thanks for the education. When I started, I unknowing walked through some redds. I felt horrible once I found out more. This would be a great video to put on every states department of fish and wild life website. Obviously, they would want it to be without a business promotion but you could use your video and voice over without doing that.
Maybe even some of the garbage dumpers would learn😁

On the swift river in Massachusetts, we’re currently experiencing an epidemic of anglers wading through redds. It sounds odd but it’s actually given me hope because the community has gone *mental* over it. Half the guys you see on the bank talk about it and one went so far as to post signs with pictures. So as bad as its been, the reaction and awareness have skyrocketed in response.

Thankfully anglers usually care about the fisheries they rely on. Some just don't know how to care for them because of ignorance. Hopefully some education will help on the Swift and elsewhere. My goal was to assist a bit with this video so feel free to share it with anyone in your neck of the woods who would find it useful.

Loads of people purposely hit the brown redds at Georgetown lake here in Colorado. Watched people purposely foul hooking & running around carrying the fish out of the water for minutes at a time for pics. Also almost got in a fight telling guys to quit wading right on the redds. So disgusted watching the hordes ruin the whole spawn deal. These aren't fishermen, they are just people with fishing rods.
