The blurry video adds to the overall affect of Brian’s state of mind
Brian gave so much love and spirituality (not in a religious sense but in a human sense) to the world through his songs in the ‘60’s even though he was suffering so much. It really is admirable that he was able to channel his pain into beautiful music that made other people feel happy. I hope he finds peace somehow because man he deserves it.
Very true!! 👍🎼🎶
Poor Brian. Thank god he was able to pull it all together. The beach boys are America's band!
Brotherly love, neither Carl, nor Dennis ever ceased to praise Brian right up until their death.
Actually Carl and Brian weren’t really speaking at the time of Carl’s death bc they had issues with each other
"The things I do, I wouldn't want to write about."
In all the years I've had this clip on CZcams, you're the first person to highlight that comment... what a statement haha.
A good man. He went thru hell and back and dealt with his demon's. He's doing well now and God bless him.
So humble soul...this man is an angel that couldn't handle the hard life he got to lived as a human, yet he gave so much beauty and joy to the world with his music.
Damn, he sounds like Dennis here.
He was doing ALOT of drugs here while smoking 3 packs cigarette a day and drinking heavily
@@jimmykarlsson2567 He may have just had layringitis, since even during those days, he never really sounded hoarse.
This is probably the saddest thing in the world (or in the beach boys world)
I've never seen him like this before. it's heartbreaking. & to think it wasn't too long after he'd had a great creative resurgence with the love you album and songs like still i dream of it
It was said that Brian had laryngitis during this interview. Considering the fact that he really didn't know the answers to any of these questions, I think he kept up the pace. A lot of creative geniuses like himself really never enjoy giving interviews.
He’s on coke clearly
@@leonconnelly5303 he said laryngitis
If he has laryngitis here than this can't be 1978. By 1978 his voice sounded way better than in 76.
All those people projecting their “genius” assumptions on him. That in itself surely enough to make Brian lose his marbles.
Carl was great what a guy RIP
My god, this is hard to watch
Whether he was a good guy or a bad guy, Dr. Landy saved Brian's life. This 1978 interview shows us what a complete wreck Brian had become. Without Landy having taken over every aspect of Brian's life the way he did, Brian would not have lived to see the 80's.
Thank god he pulled it together
He was smoking over 4 packs of cigarettes a day at this point
Cigarettes help with schizophrenia
Not a good period of time for either Brian or Carl. Nor for Dennis, for that matter.
This guy is just hilarious. Absolutely trolling all of us (yes I know he is genuinely ill and traumatised too)
Love the bèachboys
Awkward but always honest! ..yea he was in pretty bad shape here!---
brian....
Near Death.
It's not 1978, because then he looked much better. It's probably 81-82 just before Landy come in.
I was thinking that. Either this is 76 or 81-82 on his downward spiral again.
Zl
This was 1978 and Brian was getting back into coke again and most likely faking laryngitis so he wouldn't have to sing
Yess, in 1976 he was quite clean from all that and did interviews all over and new albums.
Then 1 or 2 years later, boom back in to again.
And i think this second drug flued journey of his was that really destroyed the brain
that cocaine ruined his voice
