    Would you rather buy from a dealer or private party?

    This was an extremely informative video I just purchased from a private last week and you cover essentially everything that I’ve read in a very easy to grasp step by step manner. One thing to mention is just the title and registration paperwork that needs to be completed and submitted to your DMV/tax assessor as well as paying for the state vehicle taxes at that time. Kudos to you for doing this series it’ll be a great resource that I’ll recommend to anyone considering a used Tesla or any vehicle for that matter.

    Beware Tesla buyers, if you purchase a used Tesla from a private seller, it may disqualify you from tax incentives and state rebates. Most of these incentives require purchasing an EV from a dealer. Do your own research on your state's sites regarding tax incentives or rebates for purchasing EVs.

    So how does the car recognize that I’m the new owner? How does Tesla put my account on it and remove the old owner? Will they automatically remove the car from their app?

    • @tesbros

      The easiest option would be for the previous owner to remove the car and during that process you can transfer the car to the new owner. However, if it has been already removed, you can add a new Tesla and you need to add registration details and that will confirm with the Vin number which will take a few days.

    If buying 3rd party or private seller there will be no Tesla warranties correct? If you want the warranty for barter etc the best place to buy would be Tesla website then ?

    • @tesbros
      @tesbros  Před měsícem

      @@Dimplehead if it still has the warranty from first purchase, it will transfer to you. For example if they bought a 2022, you should still have 2 more years left or up to 50k miles. But yes that is the benefit of buying used from Tesla.

      @@tesbrosthe battery warranty wouldn’t transfer though correct? Would you suggest buying from Tesla inventory for a first time Tesla buyer for the warranty reasons then? Great videos appreciate all the work you put in.

      @@Dimplehead battery warranty usually does transfer. I believe it’s 100k miles or 8 years. I would buy from Tesla if you’re first time buyer. Once you’re comfortable, you can go third party or private for the 2nd one :)

    When transferring ownership of a tesla via private party, does the new owner have to use his/her LEGAL name? Or can it be the name that they go by?

    • @tesbros

      use legal name. Tesla has a team that verifies
