  • Oppositional behaviors can be very challenging. There is no "magic thing" that can stop them, but we can begin to try and decrease them by taking a step back and adjusting our approach. In this video we will discuss some starting places where families and caregivers can begin. We will continue to discuss oppositional behaviors in future videos.

I really like the way you describe working with oppositional behaviors and escalations, but these behaviors are not limited to FASD or even DD's. Many who struggle with mental health issues have these same challenges and I appreciate you mentioning it, but it may be more helpful to discuss to behavior and interventions without continually referring to any one diagnosis or set of diagnoses.

I would like to use this video in my IEP but my child has ASD and not any of the above mentioned trauma or specific dx mentioned. I worry that the specific dx mentioned in the that was used in the into of this video can be misinterpreted in a school setting. rather than help me foster greater compassion and understanding.
