    Thank you so much. I managed to do this on my own. There were some differences between my car and the one shown in this video. This was a great help especially for someone with no previous mechanical experience (and not being exposed to it growing up).
    Especially unlatching the air filter; the other videos that I watched never mentioned it, and it never even occurred to me that I could get it out of the way.

    To anyone watching this video DO NOT DISCONNECT THE BATTERY IN THAT ORDER, if the positive cable touches any metal part of the body, you will deep fry all the electronics of your car.

    Aren't you supposed to disconnect the negative side first before the positive?

      Usually yeah. If it's dead though it's whatever. Then you attach pos and then neg.

    We tried to replace the battery of a 2013 Kia Rio. We connected the positive terminal. Then as we started to connect the negative terminal the horn started blowing. Any suggestions?

    Nice, but wrong - first the negativ Pole off. Batterie not on or over the car. You scratch the piant. And back, the negativ first, then the positiv.

    You disconnected and connected the cables in the wrong order. You will fry someones ecm with this video... negative off first, negative on last.

      Thank you for the correction. The manual does state negative off first and on last. I have never fried an ecm while changing a battery or jumping a car how likely or often is that to occur?

      @@MountainManMo If not the pcm, the bcm can take a hit. Taking the extra precaution, will save literally thousands in diagnosis and repairs. Especially these kias, hyundai, benz they are very tempermentle, and happens very often.

    Just letting you know that if you touch both terminals at the same time the electricity will not go through your chest. Your thinking of AC

    • @MountainManMo
      @MountainManMo  Před 3 lety

      You are correct in stating that 12 V DC is not as dangerous as 120 V 50-60 Hz AC. I just do not like to short out a battery or potentially cause issues with the electronics.

    what is the size and brand of the bat?
    and from where you bought it ?

    • @MountainManMo
      @MountainManMo  Před 3 lety +1

      it was a size 121R-DL from Duralast from autozone with 750 cranking amps and 600 cold cranking amps with 100 reserve. The important thing is the size and at least the same amps so other brands are fine.
