Even if you are watching the whole movie it gives a goose bums of every scene
No it doesn't 😏

RRR was the greatest film of the year...period! A three hour ride and never a dull moment. The entire musical score was phenomenal, yet it was only a part of its whole. I saw it twice on Netflix in English and Hindi and rushed to the theater to see it in its original Telugu language. An amazing film!
It should have won an Oscar for Best Movie!
Bruh you gotta watch the whole thing, it maintains that energy for 3 hours. It's not really a musical, it's just an Indian movie. IMO it got robbed at the Oscars only being nominated for best song, shoulda at least won best foreign movie. Can't believe it wasn't even nominated. Best movie of the year!
for sure, rajamouli should’ve got director as well
You definitely need to react to the whole movie
I totally agree... for best international Picture
3 hours of total awesomeness
I agree!
This movie got appreciation from many Hollywood directors like James Cameron, Steven Spielberg, Russo brothers etc. Definitely it's a binge watch movie. Don't miss it.
"this is so over the top, I love it"
that's basically the whole movie
Every Indian movie has this kind of big dance numbers in between them.. singing and dancing is a part of our culture and we love to embrace it.. lovely reaction.. you should check out more dance numbers from India
Um, no, many movies don't have songs/dance. Firstly, you seem to be speaking mostly of Hindi films (it's very different in Marathi cinema etc.). Also parallel (indie, arthouse) cinema usually doesn't have song/dance. There are also a lot of serious movies that are very grounded and have no music or dance. See the Marathi film Court, it's one of the best movies every made coming out of India.
A majority of Indian movies have a musical numbers but not "every"!
I don't know anything about India cinema. RRR was my inteoduction and since then I have been watching other movies like Bahubali, Maghadeera, and others. I also saw some dance numbers from NT Rama Rao Jr. Have no idea how wonderful dancer he is. I'm already a fan! Big hug from Brasil!
Naatu naatu is one of Jaw dropping moment of RRR, I can say this movie got atleast 10-15 amazing moments like this... To be honest whole 3 hour movie is a huge spectacle
True
"Naatu Naatu" is the fourth non-English song to win an Oscar in the category and the first song in foreign language since "Jai Ho" in 2009 to bag the prize.
Jai Ho wasn't from an Indian production, hence it cannot be categorised as a Foreign Language win, it just happens to be from A R Rehman under British Production House.
Jai Ho's, the winning chance wasn't that steep compared to RRR's Naatu Naatu (from an Indian Production house).
@@imshubhajit It was a British Movie. But Jai Ho considered as foreign language song, cause it's in Hindi
@@Akhil7Cena Since it was a British Production... Foreign Language or not, the climb to success to get that award was fairly easy in comparison. Congratulations to A R Rehman for that but since it wasn't a true Indian Production - we shouldn't be showing too much pride for it (Hindi or otherwise) - mostly because that movie tainted our country's image that took forever to gain proper popularity afterwards. The West started to think India is a country of Slums. Never gonna support that movie whatsoever.
@@imshubhajit Can't agree with you!
@@imshubhajit We should show pride for it no matter if it won the Oscar or not because of ARR! And you are saying that we should not show pride for it because it's a British production.
I have never had goosebumps for 3 hours continuously, this movie is absolutely amazing , only if this film was nominated for oscar it would have without a doubt win it.
Sad to say, Oscar voters did not agree with you. It was up for best picture consideration in the general category but did not get a nomination even.
@@nsn5564 you may not know the full details here indian cinema didn't send this movie to get nominated by Oscar, so yeah..
@@imthatguy628 I know all the details. It was submitted by the RRR team as RRR qualified to compete for the Oscars having had a theatrical release in the US in the required period etc. The other countries send a submission only for the Foreign Film category -- but anyone can submit their film for all the OTHER categories if they meet certain criteria. SSR had submitted RRR for many categories, including Best Picture, Director, Actor, etc.
i.e., it was competing in the general open categories like Best Picture, Best Director, etc.
@@nsn5564 submitted by RRR team , that is why it isn't as prioritise as other movies which are sent by indian officials..
You have to watch RRR. The film blew my damn mind. 🤯 I’ve called two theatres locally begging them to bring it to a big screen in my little town. (Not in the habit of doing this. OBSESSED😂) I hope you’ve seen it by now. You’ll love it!
Yes it is common in almost all Indian movies to have multiple songs(4-6) in the movie. In India the movie industry and music industry are not two different things. The songs themselves are excellent but for your info, not all these songs are well placed and justified in terms of the movie progression. Sometimes we even lose the extreme emotions that we've been carrying throughout the movie. But that's not the case with RRR's Naatu Naatu though. It comes at an important junction and perfectly justifies it's presence, which is why it got an Oscar lately 🎥🏆🎥🏆
The Naatu Naatu song was shot in Kyiv, Ukraine, just months before the war broke out in the region. It is right against President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s residence.
Zelenskyy the comedian who is living off of American Tax payer dollars?
Someday when the war is over, Zelensky and members of the Ukrainian Army should stack the charred remains of Russian tanks around the front of the palace and dance to this song just to style on the vatniks
@@SSgtJ0hns0nhahaha let's see
You know...Putin invaded because he thought they were singing nato, nato 😂
There might be many Indian movies which have stylishly choreographed dance numbers this year but this one wins because of how it plays out with the rest of the story and the themes portrayed in the film. 🙂
You definitely need to watch this movie !!!
This movie got 2 global golden awards 🔥🔥🔥
You need to watch this movie (and react to it) immediately. Words cannot describe how awesomely epic, sincrely amazing this movie is. Go!!
I will let people who are far more familiar with Indian cinema recommend more movies/scenes to watch, but just to pick up on 2 things from the beginning of the video: this is actually the 4th "Non-English lyrics" song to win the Oscar for Best Original Song, but it's the first to even be nominated from an Indian production, let alone win. ("Jai Ho" from "Slumdog Millionaire" did win, and is mostly in Hindi, but the movie was a British production directed by Danny Boyle. "RRR" is a Telugu-language production directed by SS Rajamouli.) Secondly, and I am getting this information from a brilliant analysis by an Indian guy who broke down a lot of symbolism and references that Western audiences might have missed in the movie- "Naatu Naatu" does not really translate to "Dance Dance". The lyricist- Chandrabose- drew on his childhood experiences of growing up in the country, and "Naatu" actually means raw, unpolished, rustic, etc. If you watch the movie, you'll see how this dance scene is set up: a racist Englishman is trying to embarrass the Indian man by calling him uncultured and saying he has no "finesse". So his friend (the one you wanted to win), sets up a "country dance" for the two of them to show the white guests at the party that letting loose and dancing "like you've just eaten a hot chili or like a bull jumping in the fields" can be fun and exciting, which leads into a dance battle between the Indian guys and the racist jerk, who loses, and then the 2 Indian guys battle each other in a friendly way. Many Westerners saw "RRR" on Netflix, which only has the Hindi dub, and the subtitles for the scene say "Dance Dance", but it's not really a direct translation. Sorry to write an essay but this movie is SOOOOOO good and I really wanted you (or anyone who hasn't seen it yet) to get a little more background on this scene. Again- this info comes from someone else, I'm just passing it along. Cheers!
Could you please post the link for the Indian analysis here, I'm looking for more info about this movie, I've watched it 5 times already! Love this! Thanks for bringing all this. Big hug from Brasil!
@@SEBOSONORO Sometimes when I post links in YT comments, they are blocked, so I will just give you the channel name: @rrrmoviereactionreviewanalysis His first video was 2.5 hours (!) but it was so informative. He has since chopped some of it down, so you can find just the dance section if that's all you want to learn about, but I really enjoyed the full-length video. Just a note, though- he is analysing based on the Hindi dub for this song (which is also what this guy is watching) and I got a lot of info about Chandrabose's original Telegu lyrics and their translation from an article in a trade publication when the song was nominated for so many awards. I think it was Variety but I can't recall. That's where I learned that he wrote the lyrics based on his childhood. Cheers!
@@cuchelo1 thank you very much I will watch the full lenght analysis! Best regards!
As a French fan of Indian cinema (I've seen around 650 Indian movies) I can recommend some really good musical numbers 😊 To answer your question first, there is no rule as to how many a movie has. Traditionally for a mainstream Bollywood movie (Bollywood = Hindi speaking) it would be around 5 but not all of them have a choreography, sometimes it's just characters doing stuff while a full song plays. But in some movies you will have just 1. Sometimes none. Sometimes just 1 for fun in the end credits. RRR (a Tollywood/Telugu speaking movie) is an epic bromance with anticolonial backdrop, big action and emotions, and it features 4 full songs: 3 in pivotal scenes (but only Naatu Naatu has a choreography) and 1 in the end credits.
In general Indian movies that have musical numbers are not musicals as we understand the genre in the west but rather just... movies with songs. So there is no rule as to how many songs there should be and what style the songs should be in and what genre the movie is (as opposed to actual musicals that have a specific structure and vibe).
Here are some musical numbers you should check out:
_Chaiyya Chaiyya_ from the movie Dil Se, ICONIC musical number from the late 90s. Music AR Rahman (who got an Oscar for the Slumdog Millionaire OST back in 2009), choreography by Farah Khan who is very renowned in Bollywood. The song features Shah Rukh Khan who is still today the biggest star in India. The director of the movie, Mani Ratnam, is one of the most renowned directors of the country.
_Satrangi Re_ also from Dil Se. If you love choreography you will love this. It's very atmospheric and very symbolic, and shot in some amazing Indian locations.
_Rowdy Baby_ from the movie Maari 2. One of the most viewed Indian songs on CZcams: 1.4 BILLION views. Quirky choreo by one of the most renowned dancers/choreographers of India, Prabhudeva, nicknamed the MJ of India. The lead actress Sai Pallavi is known for her excellent acting and dancing.
_Pranavalaya_ from Shyam Singha Roy. Also with actress Sai Pallavi. It shows classical Indian dancing.
_Silsila Ye Chaahat Ka_ from Devdas. With Aishwarya Rai (I'm assuming you have heard of her? Former Miss World). Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is known for movies with lavish sets and stunning cinematography. In this song, which is early in the movie when Aishwarya first appears on screen, she holds a diya (small oil lamp) in her hand while dancing and tries to keep it burning despite the wind and rain as it represents her love for someone.
_Dola Re Dola_ same movie as above. Aishwarya dances with Madhuri Dixit, a renowned actress known for her dancing abilities.
_Malhari_ from the movie Bajirao Mastani. Also directed by Bhansali. You will notice how he uses takes much longer than usual in in his musical numbers which is quite impressive. This time it's all male dancing in period outfits of soldiers (it's a dance of victory). Main actor is Ranveer Singh, known for his energy.
_Tattad Tattad_ from Ram Leela, also directed by Bhansali also with Ranveer Singh. Very colourful, fun steps, everything over the top (just to give you an idea: I don't consider Naaru Naatu to be over the top at all lol). The movie is a Romeo and Juliet adaptation.
_Buttabomma_ from Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. One of the most viewed Telugu songs on CZcams. Very pretty musical number with Allu Arjun who is known to be one of the best actor-dancers in India alongside the 2 actors in Naatu Naatu (Jr NTR and Ram Charan).
Ok well I could recommend tons more lol but that is a good start 😁
These are great recommendations
@@jaydath8181 thank you 😊
It will be an emotional rollercoaster ride. Please do watch the movie.
Every (almost every) Indian commercial movies have musicals that generally play vital role in story telling but there are other songs that just play in the middle of the movie for some entertainment irrespective of story telling. You should definitely watch "RRR" as your introduction to Indian cinema. There is another musical at the end of the movie too.
There are Indian movies that have no big dance numbers or songs, but those are usually more serious, dark-themed movies.
There are so many Indian movie dance numbers that are just as cool as Naatu Naatu..
Here are a few-
Etthara Jenda (RRR),
'main Aisa kyon hoon'
'Idhar Chala main udhar Chala'
'Bang Bang'
'Tu Meri'
'Chiku buku raile'
'Muqabala'
'Kaala Chashma'
'Ghoomar'
'Deewani Mastani'
'Khalbali'
Look, there are just too many, once you watch these, I think there will be more similar recommendations from CZcams, you'll love to go into this rabbit hole, happy journey. Indian music, cinema and dance are a treasure yet to be discovered by so many.
All time best Indian Movies are 3 Idiots, Eega(By SS Rajamouli), Drishyam 1&2(Both are Masterpiece Movies), Dangal

In India we celebrate movie like festival so yeaa having a energetic song is important 🔥🔥🔥🔥
every indian film is a musical in a sense. Indian films evolved from indian musical theater which were hugely popular in the 19th century. indian films kept that tradition
I recommend watching the movie if you can. It has other songs in it that I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on
you will have to get into indian movies now, they are such joy for me. most of the movies have musicals element to it, it's part of their cinema at this point. ofc there are some movies without the music, but it's rare, it's part of the usual commercial movie. And RR ois very camp, comercial movie. So much fun.
Yeah music is really necessary in Indian movies.I can't even imagine Indian movies without music.
Most exciting movie I've seen since Lawrence of Arabia. I'm 72 and have seen THOUSANDS of movies!

I guess it's not as obvious if you haven't seen the setup, but Ram aka Other Suspenders Guy (lol) intentionally takes a fall at the end so his Bro can get the girl :)
In indian cinema almost every movie has these kind of musicals
Just to briefly describe the story in this dance battle, these two men are close friends. As the battle comes down to just them, the man in the yellow shirt sees that the main girl is rooting for his friend -- he knows they like each other. So he graciously gives his friend the win to make them happy. 🙂

Nearly every Indian movie has music and dance numbers, it’s part of the culture
That's not true. A majority but not "nearly every"
@@AriaIsara I guess that’s true, a lot of them just have it in general
styles of dance and mv varies from movie to movie, like "megham Karukata" (jazz style), Jigelu Rani (item number), "maine aisa kyun hoon", "love debba", "Malhari". "Mohe Rang do Laal", "maari thara local ", "Zoobi doobi" etc.
Edit: Suggestion if you are planning to react to Indian Songs in the future I suggest create a different channel as that might alienate your existing viewers and reduce traffic due to algo shenanigans.
yes watch ones next !
Well this is epic you are right look the energetic dance even i personally feel dead body start to after listening to this music 😄

Hritik Roshan is an Indian Actor and one of the most phenomenal actors of India
Some movies used to add musical numbers in between so that men can get out and have a smoke. Some have them to raise emotional quotient. It's just a bit to relax due to long movies in India.
Very proud moment for telugu film industry jai sri ram

Watch the whole movie. You will like it. And yes , it is customary in Indian movies to have a dance number in the middle of most movies. Please react to “rowdy baby” which has 1.4b views.
Like everyone else I agree the song is glorious (and your reaction was perfect!) and you MUST watch the movie. Advance warning, though, there are some parts that can be very distressing, make sure you bring tissues and be prepared to confront some ugly realities of history. Enjoy your foray into Indian cinema - you're going to have such a great time finding a whole new genre of faves.
Some of NTR jr's best dance songs include, in my opinion, Love Dhebba or Apple Beauty. Ram Charan (but mostly Samantha) are wonderful in Rangamma Mangamma. Other high energy songs that you may enjoy include Allu Arjun's Cinema Choopista Mava or Top Lesi Podi.
I'm a bit late commenting.... 😅 If you haven't seen the whole movie? You need to! RRR is the best movie I've seen in DECADES! RRR is a musical & there's another huge choreographed dance at the end~ The movie blew my mind! I'm sure it'll blow yours, too!
